Been meaning to go to this for a while now. Keep driving by when it's already closed. Came in and immediately love the space and decor. It's pretty big overall and I just love that for the area. Got a cold brew, a short bread cookie matcha latte and a brown butter chocolate chip cookie. All were pretty great. The cookie was the best. I haven't had such a soft cookie given to me at an establishment in a long while. It was a great surprise. The latte was well balanced. Wasn't too sweet and I could taste everything they said was in it. Liked it quite a bit. Fiancé liked his cold brew as well, he was glad he got a large. Service was great! Everyone was nice and answered all our questions. Will try and come here more often! read more

I really wanted to like Bakersfield Coffee Roasters. I'm new to town and first visited back in October, excited to find a local coffee spot with a strong community feel. The space is actually one of their biggest strengths there's a lot of seating, plenty of room to bring your laptop and work remotely, and areas where people can gather. It's also connected to a church, so it definitely leans into that community-centered atmosphere. Unfortunately, after going back 3-4 times hoping my experience would improve, the coffee has been consistently disappointing. It tastes burnt and weak at the same time like warm water with sugar. There barely seems to be any real espresso in the drinks. On more than one occasion, I've taken several sips hoping it would get better... and ended up throwing the whole drink away because it was just that bad. That's honestly frustrating, especially when you're paying for specialty coffee. The only drink I've actually enjoyed there is the pumpkin spice latte, that one was solid. read more

This place is amazing!! My first visit and I'm hooked!! I love to support small local businesses and Bakersfield Roasting Company did not disappoint. I tried the House Mocha (hot): mocha powder, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg (I did taste cardamom..which I love). I do not prefer really sweet coffee so I asked if they could use less sugar and my request was accommodated..yay!! The drink sleeve said 3/4, so I think it was 3/4 sweet. My drink was so addictive and I've been craving another one. This place was very nice! It was very spacious and open. The coffee was great and the baked goods were pretty good. We had a lemon blueberry scone which was amazing and a chocolate chip cookie that was good. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it had huge chunks of sugar on top. I thought the sugar was salt but was disappointed when it wasn't salt. A little too sweet for me with all that sugar on top but still pretty good. Finally got to try this place out and I'm thoroughly impressed. The Salty Cowboy with oat milk was so delicious and had the perfect hint of coconut! The service was great and the workers helped us choose all our drinks. They can customize any beverage and because they have such a wide variety of syrups the possibilities are endless. I love coffee shops you can work or read for a little while and they have a ton of seating. It's great for people who work from home to get out or larger study groups. They close at 2pm so it's great for quick meetings or to just get a change of scenery from where you'd normally work. I'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

I've been to the Bakersfield roasting Company several times I've had different lattes and they're always made to perfection. The environment is super welcoming and there's plenty of space for large groups. I've had the garlic bagel, but my only complaint would be. I wish there were more food options. We were invited to meet here by a friend on our way up to wind wolves preserve. I was very impressed by the selection of items on their menu. The ladies who tended to us were very patient and polite offering suggestions and even accommodating a request to split our drink in two cups. We ended up ordering a Hawaiian mocha, a white chocolate mocha and and iced snowflake. Their scones were warmed and so good. Absolutely loved the cinnamon scone, highly recommend. The shop was super packed, but it was a pleasant surprise to see they had a large cafeteria style annex to their main coffee lounge. There were groups studying and yet it was spacious enough to catch up and sip on our coffees while we finished our food items before heading out. Will definitely come back to try more off their menu. The cause is also definitely a motivator to come back as well. read more

Came in on a Saturday at noon, place was buzzing! The line was long! However that never intimidates me... I had all day to order. I finally placed my order at 1210, so over 10 min in line. The inside is nice and clean and super spacious! Great for students or even a big group of people that just want some coffee. I went for two drinks that I feel I would enjoy and also that are in their top drink options. The cashier was nice and greeted me with a smile. I informed her it was my first time but she didn't give me any recommendations or explained any of their menu options, which in my opinion I feel that you have to greet new customers that way. Like oh it's your first time! This is how things work here lol. I was informed everything is baked in house except for the bagels. In house dinning gives you the option to have your food on a plate. The zucchini bread came out immediately and in a bag.... Was annoyed by this. My bread was now sitting in this bag that had been warmed. I finally received my drinks at 1227, some people would flip with the wait time, however I don't mind. Once I received my drinks I had to ask for them to rewarm the bread. The bread was delicious! Soft thick and you can taste the real ingredients used to make it. For the drinks I ordered an iced medium Strawberry Honey Matcha Latte. The presentation was awesome! The taste from the sippy part was really good, the matcha alone has a great tastes. Once I mixed it all together the drink really came together and all the flavors were over the top good. It tastes like a boba drink without the pearl or extra sugar. The second drink I tried was a small Velvet Elvis, WOW!!! Smooth and not overly sweet and you can literally taste the caffeine. Overall this place is a 10/10, I would come here instead of any of the chain coffee places in town. I do recommend you ask the food to be warmed after you have your drinks. read more

A nice farmstyle coffee shop that is attached to the local Calvary Chapel building. My wife and I tried their Velvet Elvis latte (white chocolate with caramel) and their white chocolate mocha, both iced. We are impressed with their blend as some coffee shops try to hide their coffee taste with lots of syrup (ahem, starbucks), but this coffee shop has it down packed. Loved the atmosphere with the farmstyle design, and it was pretty busy for a small shop. The staff was friendly and accommodating as we had questions about some of their coffee packages and they answered all of them even if they had a long line. I commend them for their goal as a non-profit organization to end human trafficking and homelessness. Great place for coffee if you're ever in the area. read more

Totally not your average coffee shop. They offer an excellent menu of different coffees and blends. (I've tried several, love em') Staff is always quick and courteous. I love the vibe, totally laid back and casual. I love the conference style room where you can work privately while also providing the usual cafe style seats throughout. First of all, kuddos to Bakersfield Roasting Co. for branching out, there's way too many Starbucks here. Second, I think it's really cool it's somewhere you can have meetings with coworkers or study groups. They have a big hall attached. Ambience is alright. Old school and homey. Coffee is a little watered down compared to others. I get a regular latte and feel their espresso isn't the strongest. It's balanced but I'd like a little more. Homemade cookies are it. read more

I enjoy coming here every time I visit my hometown. Love the space and the people are nice. I like their signature drinks and tea. Their passion tea is balanced. Not too sweet or tart. Can't go wrong any drink. If you need a place to study or relax, they have plenty of space. It's rare when the place is too busy that you can't find a seat. Why 3 stars? Today I went in and they were busy. There were 4 people behind the counter. Once the cashier was done taking our order, they went to get the trash and other things leaving three behind the counter. Only person was making drinks while the other two were just talking. Not sure about what, but it didn't look important enough that they couldnt pause to help their co-worker. One of the workers that was talking kept wiping their nose with their back hand. If you aren't going to help, get out the kitchen. Really bad look. Maybe it was an off day. They are usually hustling and helpful. Besides this, I love coming here and will continue to go. Just hope they address that teamwork issue. read more

We stopped by Bakersfield for business and had an hour to get gas and enjoy a coffee stop. Bakersfield Roasting Company was the first to come up on my search so we decided to give them a try. It was reasonably close to the Costco where we filled up. When we got here my first reaction was, "OHHH... It's connected to the Calvary Chapel." On second thought, I did see a lot of Christian book stores on the map in Bakersfield too, so it was somewhat of a minor culture shock. This was a nice small no-frills coffee shop. They actually have a roaster in there where you can watch beans being prepared. It smelled wonderful. We enjoyed a light brunch and some lattes next to the roaster. Quoted from their menu board, "As a nonprofit, our goal is to help fight human trafficking and homelessness in our community!" All the staff were friendly and nice here. Having lived in Seattle, I can be particular about my espresso and coffee. However, Bakersfield Roasting Company is legit. They have the roasting machine right out in the open. Coffee is not bitter but smooth yet flavorful. I do prefer a bit of flavoring in my latte or cappuccino and they have quite the variety to choose from. Don't forget to add a cookie for dipping too. I stopped by this coffee shop on the way to San Francisco from Los Angeles. The ambiance was calming and was a cool refuge from the hellish heat outside, and with a spacious interior with lots of seating, we decided to stay for a bit to relax and cool off. We ordered three lattes and one cappuccino, and they had a large selection of custom syrups to choose from. Their most popular are the hazelnut and white chocolate syrups together, which we decided to order to try it out. I ordered a latte with almond milk and brown butter toffee syrup; it wasn't as sweet as the other drinks we had ordered so I added a Splenda packet to sweeten things up, which complimented the flavors nicely. The drink did seem to have bits of brown butter wafting throughout the drink, which caused a bit of separation so I would highly recommend mixing the drink thoroughly before tasting. The white chocolate + hazelnut was a bit too sweet in my opinion, but after trying all the flavors we got I can safely say all the syrups we had ordered are a pretty safe bet and compliment the flavor of the espresso nicely. Overall, it was a nice retreat to recover from our heat fevers, but I wouldn't say it's especially spectacular in any way. If I lived closer it wouldn't be my top spot to study or relax or anything like that. This place served its purpose nicely and I can definitely appreciate that! read more
