The shop alternates between two ordering windows on opposite sides of the building, and having additional staff to take orders at both windows would help move customers through much faster. We waited nearly 40 minutes just to order. I would have gone elsewhere, but other coffee shops in the area were closed. We made a point to go by the Filling Station on our way through town because it was one of his stops when he was working. It was my first time through and I didn't know what to expect. The menu is huge! We had to wait for a while but we were told that was an unusual wait because they ran out of a couple supplies and had to be restocked. We had 5 people in the car and all orders were something different. The barista inside was super friendly and took all our orders at once and only had to have a reminder of one drink! Don't go here at all I do not care if they're a small business or not. 30 minutes to even be talked to with one car infront of me and one car on the opposite side. 10 of those minutes were just me being at the window waiting to be helped. The old man opened the window and asked what I wanted and before I was even done ordering he closed the window on me and left me there for another 5 minutes. I ended up just leaving after waiting half an hour of my break and going back to the rest of my 6 hour shift hungry and with nothing to even drink. The filing station is a great place to find delicious coffee and amazing tea! I love trying different coffee and tea shops..I love to drink my calories..hahaha! But really this is one of my favorites because it's conveniently located and it's a drive thru! The people are always very nice and I love how they give great recommendations on some of their favorites. My go to was the orchard tea sadly they no longer carry it. I was bummed out! But they do have other great herbal teas to choose from. The prices are amazing! A whopping 32 oz tea for under $5 is a steal compared any other place! The frappes are also soooooo good, and so are the Red Bull infusions if you like energy drinks. Give this place a try you won't regret it! Coffee is still great, when I have time to stop, but service hasn't changed. Neither has the speed of production in the mornings. You really need to arrive 20-30 minutes before your next destination to make sure you get your order in time. Glad the business has stuck around all these years and the ambiance of it has t changed. I've adapted my schedule to go in the afternoons when no one else is ordering drinks, however, I still watch those lines. There were maybe two cars ahead of me and the other line was empty. It took 40 minutes (yes I made sure) for it to finally be my turn and when I pulled up, I realized why. The style of the drive thru reminds me of something in the Bay Area with a little old fashion to it. My server was polite and as a first timer recommended that I try the "relaxed mood." So I've visited this drive up coffee spot a couple of times now and I'm yet to try many more items on the menu. I'm a coffee lover and I absolutely love that Bakersfield has so many coffee places. What makes this little drive up coffee place stand out is that they cater to just about everyone. They have such a long menu that you'll be able to buy drinks for both coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers. It's amazing that this place doesn't ever get backed up. The lines always stay short and it moves pretty quickly. There's 2 drive up windows and staff is okay. Wait time isn't usually long here and the price range average about what Starbucks charges also. Unfortunately, I don't visit this coffee place often because it's way on the other side of town. I wish they would open up The Filling Station in the SW, so I can swing by more often, but if you're far away from The Filling Station just like me and you're feeling frisky and wanna try something different other than Starbucks, then you definitely should check this place out. read more

I always order the same thing: dark bark hot chocolate. It's my secret. People think I drink coffee but it's not caffeinated, it's whipped cream. I always thought this little gas station remake was neat. It was one of the first places I visited when I moved to Bakersfield and I continue to drive by. No need to get out of the car. Friendliest service, great coffee if you have a few minutes to wait while it is assembled fresh for you and if you have a pup with you, free dog biscuits! I found the prices more than reasonable too. Cute establishment - we went through the drive-thru today but I am also curious about the coffee shop itself. Next time. Lots of menu choices for coffee and tea. Tiny coffee shack on a busy corner with very limited operating hours. There's two drive-through windows manned by one employee, go figure. A large presence of bees kept flying in/out of the shack and into some vehicles waiting in line. Having a variety of different items on a menu is great but this place takes it to an absurd level.
