So we wanted to love it but it was hard. So self service coffee (which normal coffee was out and so was the creamer), then my biscuits and gravy was cold and so was my daughters. My other daughter got kids plate with pancake with no syrup (brought syrup for my daughter's boyfriend but not my daughter). Food was mid and atmosphere was like we were an inconvenience. On Monday, October 7, my son treated my husband and me to lunch at Bakon. The restaurant was immaculately clean and the food amazing, but the attentive and caring staff is beyond compare! Having just had surgery across the street, my husband became sick from the anesthesia. The staff could not have been more patient and resourceful. They treated us like family, providing cold towels, additional water, and--above all--a genuine concern for a man they didn't know and would likely never see again. However, that's where they are wrong because we will GLADLY patronize this eatery every time we are in the area, and I will tell everyone I know to stop in because they will not be disappointed. The food is fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. My biscuit literally melted in my mouth, and the signature bacon was the best I have ever tasted! Nice little spot on the way to Columbia from Greenville. Not all the bacons were tasty but cute little concept. I liked the coffee bar. It gets packed and sometimes they don't have enough servers but that's almost everywhere nowadays. The service wasn't horrible but it wasn't top notch. Ordered the crab benedict today. When the waiter brought it out it only had one crab cake on one of the biscuits and the other just had the "poached" egg. I asked if the other was supposed to have a crab cake on it too (which it should, but maybe they don't make it that way) and she went to ask and came back and told me its only supposed to have one. But I never have had a benedict anything with only one side having the additional things on it whether it be bacon, ham, crab cake, etc.. After cutting into it my eggs were not poached, they were hard boiled. Everyone else's food was great and typically the food there is good, but I was very disappointed with my personal experience there today. Wasn't offered for it to be remade only to be taken off the check which is fine I guess, but I left still being hungry. read more

Just left there. Been excited to try it! We we're very disappointed! I got the eggs Benedict, my go to if it's on a menu. The muffin was barely toasted and there was no Canadian bacon on it! My partner wanted a ham and cheese omelet, but they didn't offer ham, so he ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and grits. His biscuit fell apart on his first bite and had to eat it with a fork. The open coffee bar is a really nice touch. The menu has lots of breakfast and typical lunch options. I usually go for the chophouse omelette. All of the staff are quick to listen and always make sure you are satisfied. There are a couple waiters I always ask for- if only they followed me everywhere else I ate! If I had one complaint it would be the space itself. Acoustics are terrible. It's like an indoor basketball court. They need carpet on the ceiling. This place seems very new and disorganized. We were brought the wrong drinks and our food was missing items. I got the breakfast burrito and it was missing pico. We weren't brought utensils to eat with. The food was mediocre at best. The long wait isn't worth it. read more

Food is good and the restaurant is clean and well kept. They recently changed their menu and, personally, I liked the original better. They got rid of their breakfast potatoes and now everything is a la carte. The omelets used to come with biscuits and potatoes and now you pay $10 for just the omelet and have to pay separate for any sides. An omelette, 2 sides, and a coffee was $29 which is steep for breakfast. I'm hoping they consider reverting back to the previous menu. read more

We have been to Bakon several times to dine, but the last time we were there we sat at the table where the sun shines in very brightly and directly on the table in the front of the restaurant next to the Hostess station. It was very uncomfortable and we will not opt for that table again. The restaurant was not filled to capacity so the table was not an absolute must to be seated for dining. We think this restaurant should purchase either shades or blinds to ensure that their customers are comfortable during their dining experience. They must be aware that several of their tables are impacted by the sun and that they get very hot and sunny. It just seems rude to subject customers to an uncomfortable dining experience. read more

The dish I got had pancakes and an over-easy egg, my fiancee had a different dish that had pancakes and asked for her eggs over-medium. My egg ended up being over-hard, but I didn't care to ask for a new egg. However, my fiancée's eggs were not even over easy, they had very runny undercooked whites. We asked for them to be cooked again, over medium. They brought us two eggs that were cooked less than the first batch. We asked for again, over medium eggs. The manager said eggs are finicky and hard to cook. I don't want to eat at a breakfast restaurant where they don't know how to cook eggs. read more
