I came here for dinner with my husband and our two toddlers (2 and 4). Our waiter approached us soon after we sat down and offered us water. Once he brought the waters, we let him know we were ready to order (we always order right away when dining with our kids to avoid delays and a longer wait for food). We already had a good idea of what we wanted--lobster bisque, ribeye steak, and lobster ravioli--plus mashed potatoes and buttered pasta for the kids. We also asked whether he recommended the creamed spinach or the truffle risotto, and he mentioned the risotto was very rich, so we went with the spinach. We added a Caesar salad as well. The Caesar salad and lobster bisque arrived first. The salad dressing was made in-house, but the anchovy flavor was overpowering for me--still, I ate it. The lobster bisque was average--I've had better--but we finished it. The main reason for my 2-star review was the wait time and the quality of our entrées. It took forever for our food to arrive. I asked our waiter when it would be out, and he assured me it would be "any minute now." Ten minutes later, I followed up with the manager, who said, "We're doing our best," and that it should be out soon. Another 5-10 minutes passed before the food finally arrived. It was obvious our entrées had been sitting out for a good 10-15 minutes before they brought them to our table. Hot plate, cold food. As I cut into the ribeye to feed my toddler, I noticed it didn't even look hot. I touched it with my finger--it was barely warm. I had to wait for the waiter to return just to ask for it to be reheated. When I did, he asked if I wanted a new steak, but I declined, assuming that would take another hour. At this point, my kids were tired, hungry, and cranky. My husband's lobster ravioli was cold too--he barely touched it. To be fair, the creamed spinach was really good. The mashed potatoes, however, looked far from fluffy, and my daughter gave the pasta a thumbs down--but ate it anyway because she was so hungry. When the reheated steak finally came back, it was well-done and dry. I've never had a ribeye that dry before, and I felt bad feeding it to my kids--they had to chew it aggressively just to get through it. By then, I had promised them dessert, but I couldn't even bring myself to order it here. We left and got dessert elsewhere. For the $280 we spent, this experience was absolutely not worth it, and we will never return. If you're looking for a fine dining experience with your kids, this is NOT the place. Don't be fooled by the prices--you're paying premium rates for cheap steak. read more

Pros: The food was delicious and the views were amazing! Cons: the server we had was incredibly rude. We felt rushed to eat, rushed to choose our meal, and she huffed when neither of us decided to have beverages aside from water after reviewing the menu. The waitress also dropped our check WITH the desert menu, as if to say if we don't choose desert then there's the door. It was very off putting and unfortunate given that the food really was great and the dinner should have been more relaxing but she ruined the whole vibe. In fairness for the food, chef, and restaurant we gave 3 stars but certainly had a poor experience with our waitstaff. read more

The PERFECT meal. 10/10 experience. My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and loved it. I haven't eaten a meal so slow in such a long time but I had to savor every bite! The seared ahi was unbeatable and it was paired with truffle risotto which was amazing. My lobster ravioli was also great- so flavorful and it came with fresh lobster tail on top. Every part of our experience was first class, from the hostesses, to our meals, to our server, Brian - who treated us to a very special date night to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. This restaurant was located in the same tower which I was staying in so I thought I'd check it out. The decor is very light and welcoming. Plus, this restaurant is on the list so I can apply my HHonor credit. The hostess was very welcoming and was able to seat me right away at a table with an incredible view of the ocean. The server had greeted me within couple of minutes and by that time, I was ready to order. I decided on the Cheese & Bacon Omelette. Within a few minutes, the meal was delivered. This time, we ordered the lobster bisque (there were no pieces of lobster) and it was extremely salty. So salty, I am almost certain they seasoned it with the ocean water. I ordered the jidori chicken, which was bland. The service here is usually great where the wait staff is generally attentive. However, with this last visit, I don't know if our waiter was overwhelmed or what. The service was so slow that some of his tables got up and left without ordering because they waited so long. Mind you, the restaurant wasn't very busy. Not sure what happened here. A decent choice if you don't want to leave the Hilton property. read more

Great place to take pictures with the beautiful sunset (you can get to the balcony through the back private room). Service is good (until it gets super busy - then, good luck getting anyone's attention), and our waiter was so kind. The food is mediocre and overpriced for sure. I was the only person who got sick and I believe it was from the lobster ravioli because it was only item that I ate, which everyone else did not eat. Initially, I thought they were from the Washington oysters, but my husband was perfectly fine. The overpriced dishes and the food poisoning are the two reasons why I deducted two stars. Other than that, we enjoyed the beautiful views, the yummy bread and butter, the delicious specialty steak "washugyu ribeye" (which my son and husband devoured!), sides of garlic shrimp, and the whole Kona lobsters! The potatoes au gratin were too mushy, the filet mignon was tough, the lobster ravioli gave me food poisoning, and the kids buttered tagliatelle pasta was extremely overcooked. The kids only ate the washugyu ribeye and shrimp, and refused the pasta. Honestly, Bali Oceanfront is conveniently located on the Hilton resort, so it's nice to just walk over for a meal with a view if you're staying at Hilton. The staff is nice and attentive when they're not busy, and if you avoid certain foods, you're good to go! The manager accommodated us with a last minute reservation in the sunset private room with view - I was so appreciative for that! The oysters were fresh and on the larger side which I prefer. The bone marrow canoe was devine, the duck fat croutons were a great touch and really elevated the flavor of the marrow. We had a special of ahi poke bowl with papaya and little rice pearls. To finish the night off we ordered the Seafood pasta dish and I think that was my favorite. Bali Oceanfront has gorgeous views with space and time to sit and relax! We made a dinner reservation for 5pm for our 19th anniversary. Nineteen years ago we stayed at HHV following our wedding reception and had only ever had breakfast here during that time. Since then probably a couple lunches at Tropics and occasional Dairy Queen treats so we were glad to plan a nice, fancy dinner at HHV. We were greeted promptly and politely and appreciated the dinner photo service with a gorgeous sunset background. "Bali Oceanfront" in a name sounded intriguing and we knew the views would be excellent especially at sunset. We had time to enjoy dinner and watch the sun set from our amazing seating. This is unlike many hotel restaurants on the beach where it is very busy and rushed. I ordered a Kauai Tai to start the evening and considering the size, it's probably a better taste and value than some others on Waikiki Beach. We really enjoyed the taste of the bone in ribeye Delmonico. Their heirloom tomato salad w burrata and pickled onions was real nice and we thoroughly enjoyed the cheesecake with vanilla cream. There were very many items on the menu sourced locally and we always appreciate that. One thing I had hoped for was for something about the Bali Oceanfront menu to invoke Bali, or at least more than any other oceanfront restaurant. Whether it be a couple specials or appetizers, even a drink or two. Even music would add to the experience so I think that is a missed opportunity for something special. We chose to wait several days to write our review so that we would not write out of anger. Now we just write out of frustration and disappointment. Our experience in December 2022 was a pleasant one, and our waiter at that time (Kai) was very nice so we decided to return for our anniversary. Our reservation was for 8:15 p.m. We were not seated until 8:45 p.m., along with other parties who were walking in without a reservation (we overheard). (We get it, it was Valentines and thus busy.) When we were taken in, we were seated at a small table for 2 in a darker area. There were 3 other OPEN tables around us though - roomier tables (able to seat 4 but with placemats to be seated for a party of 2). At first we thought it was divided up into the waiter / waitress in charge (wrong). We then thought perhaps these tables were not going to be used for the rest of the night (also wrong) - each of the three tables were subsequently filled with parties of two, and they were all tourists. It was quite obvious as they had leis or they spoke with an accent from a different country or from a different part of the United States. We felt like we got the short end of the stick while everyone else around us had a nice tables or booths. It felt like we did something wrong as we watched others. We waited patiently and thought, so what if they don't treat the locals well? This is a restaurant in a hotel ... we should expect that they would treat the tourists well and not the locals, even though it's the locals that would make the choice of coming back time after time. So we ordered thinking that at least the food would be good even if the service isn't. The food was acceptable. The beef tenderloin carpaccio was delicious and our drinks were tasty. The rest was okay ... the lobster bisque was salty, the seafood pasta was soft (not al dente), and the Valentine's prefix course steak was overcooked (we asked for medium rare, we got medium). By this time, we were disappointed, but it was too soon to try to end it. We noticed that the manager went around to all of the tables around us to the people who were seated after us to ask them how their meal was. It was not until we caught the manager's eye that she came by and asked how we were doing while simultaneously trying to walk away. It was evident that she had no interest in our opinion and simply made that statement because we watched her do it to others. But alas, even that was not the worst part. While we were waiting for our dessert, we noticed that we were the last people in the restaurant. All of the parties that were seated after us had left while we patiently waited for our prie fixe dessert. We waited ... and waited ... while we watched everyone leave. We would have told our waitress to cancel our dessert ... if there was one around ... but they all disappeared. When she finally brought the desert, we noticed it was already likely pre-made and questioned why it took so long to get it. By that time though, we wanted to leave, and leave we did ... finally ... past 10:30 p.m. when everybody (including most of the wait staff) were gone or in cleaning mode. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Nor would we recommend this place to any of our friends or family. No one should have to experience what we did. read more

My girlfriend and I wanted to brunch here and what captured our attention from the menu, was the baked French toast with Chantilly. What we envisioned, was a buttery, salty, topping that complimented the French toast. What was served however, seemed more like a slice of bread pudding. Yes, it was soft. Yes, it tasted good. But where's the chantilly?? So we read the menu description one more time and sure enough, it does say, "Streusel topping." Oh well... Luckily, the pork belly Benedict was incredible! We love the Hilton Hawaiian village and stayed there during our recent vacation. We chose to eat at Bali on our last night because it was in our hotel. Reservations are easy to make and you receive confirmation texts prior. The host was welcoming and even sat us earlier than our reservation time. I had requested an ocean view on my reservation over a month prior, and I understand it is a request not mandatory, but we were sat closer to the front with a very little ocean view and overlooking the downstairs sitting area that as empty with tables and chairs. The menu is just ok with a variety for adults. Not a lot of youth/teen friendly dishes. The one dish our teen wanted, they said they were all out of. Expect pricey items from the drinks, to meals to sides. I had the lobster ravioli, which was fairly good, very creamy. The smashed potatoes were crispy but salty. The highlight we're the clams- delicious broth but several were not even open. It was my husband's bday so they gave him a complimentary slice of chocolate cake which was very nice of them. Service was decent to good. Nothing to rave about. I expected more. Overall, nice place but I'll pass next time. I'd rather go super casual and skip these pricey meals. I came here with my boyfriend. The place has an amazing view to the lagoon. The drinks were amazing! We saw pictures of the rib-eye and we absolutely wanted it. We ordered it medium rare... but got it closer to well done. This is extremely disappointing for a place that's supposed to be 4 diamonds... we didn't return it because it is a good cut and high quality meat that we didn't want it to go to the trash, but I didn't enjoy it. I ate it because of the poor cow who suffered to be over cooked. Table next to us got seafood and that looked better. If you are thinking on the ribeye, think it twice. Update: Went to pay the bill, split check half and half cash, and shit you not, the server thought the $100 (out of a $200 check) was the tip. We called the manager and she stated it was an honest mistake. We decided to bring up the overcooked steak to which she stated that she couldn't see it live and the pic may be altered (which it isn't) so she couldn't do anything. We didn't want anything done about it but just wanted to bring it up. This was a very disappointing experience and will never return. TLDR: stay away from ribeye if you like your steak. What a beautiful spot to enjoy a high end meal with excellent service and sunset views! Stay on Friday for the fireworks show as you'll get the best view possible. The appetizers are so delicious and presented so beautifully! I loved the little neck clams that were so flavorful and plump. The ahi tartare was fresh and delicious and the shrimp cocktail was huge!
