Upscale restaurant overlooking Waikiki Beach We went for a belated anniversary dinner. Frankly, a bit disappointing. We had steamed clam appetizer. I had Delmonico steak cooked medium and my wife had the grilled Mahi-mahi both of us had asparagus. And we had a bottle of wine. The Delmonico steak was my first ever, I typically go with T-bones and Ribeyes. It was cooked medium, as ordered, and the flavor was a bit weak. I expected more beefiness and I didn't get it. There were some good bites but there was more sinews than I'd expect in a steak served in a fine dining restaurant. There also was a shark-tooth-shaped bone the size of a US nickel that fortunately I spotted before eating it, hidden toward the middle of the steak. The asparagus was tough and only the tips were chewable. I mean machete tough. The clams were a bit on the bitter side and two were unopened and serving them is a culinary no-no. Again this should not occur in a fine dining restaurant. Our server was excellent and attentive. He comped the clams which wasn't expected but was appreciated. I wanted to love Bali Oceanfront so bad, but the food was lackluster... We arrived for our dinner reservation about 5 minutes before our time, checked in, waited a few minutes, and were brought over to our perfect table with the best view. It was just about sunset, so it was an amazing spot. Our server came over for our drink order, and informed us that the Friday night fireworks were about to start. As for the food, yes it was mediocre as I mentioned before. Disappointing really. We started off with the clams. To be honest, the clams and the Caesar salad were the highlight, and the best part of our dinner. Both were absolutely delicious. My husband old fashioned was yuck. The tomahawk steak and smashed potatoes were flavorless and underwhelming. We passed on dessert and opted to get ice cream at the hotel instead. Service was great, and the view...omg the view! Bali Oceanfront at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is beautiful, and at this point not sure I would eat there again. If we do, I will definitely order something else. Made a reservation for 7:30pm on Friday to catch the fireworks display that is in front of the restaurant. It was a nice, short show that we viewed from the balcony. Great service by a very attentive waiter with great recommendations and personality. Started with a Island Cosmo which that wasn't too strong but still had great flavor with the kick of the vodka as well as the sourdough garlic bread which was tasty. I was torn between the Wagyu filet or the Osso Bucco but decided on the later since I didn't see any reviews for it. I'm glad I tried it. The meat of the Osso Bucco was very tender and I hardly needed a knife to cut it. The gravy was nice, rich and flavorful and the saffron risotto was excellent with a great pairing of veggies. I was too full to sample anything from the dessert menu so I'm afraid I'm no help there. We should have known better than to enter the Hilton village. Bali seemed like a decent place for a nice dinner instead we left halfway through our meal because the food was so bad it was unbearable. Lets start off with the copious amounts of fruit flies that was surrounding our table. The server had the balls to tell me " its a Hawaii seasonal thing" That is not a Hawaii thing, that is a your restaurant is filthy and you need to clean it issue. Now lets start with the food. No bread or anything for the table because the only bread on the menu, they want to charge $12 for- what a joke. We ordered the lobster bisque that says big chunks of lobster. What came out was a pathetic tiny cup of lukewarm bisque with maybe 2 or 3 small pieces of lobster for $18! So we ordered one of the most expensive items on the menu, steaks and added in truffle risotto. This is where it became unacceptable. We asked for both steaks to be cooked medium. One of them came out like a hockey puck it was so overdone. The second steak was a ribeye and the meat was such bad quality, I found myself chewing the same piece for minutes at a time just so I wouldn't choke on the chewing gum that they called steak. The truffle risotto was a mess of cream and bland flavors. It tasted like it came from a powder and was microwaved in a gas station. Throughout all of this, we were playing keep the flies out of our drinks. The server had to replace multiple glasses for us from flies landing it them. The wine list is also embarrassing for a place charging $85 steaks. If they had Carlos Rossi on the wine list it would have fit right in. The wine that we did order, $14 and $18 glasses were terrible, not kept at the right temperature and most likely opened for at least a day or two and left un-corked without removing the air. I will finish it off with saying that the décor is so bland that I thought I was eating at a sizzler in 1997. The only thing this place has, is a view of the ocean, but lets be honest. If you are eating in Honolulu, most nice places have a view so you should have NO REASON TO EVER COME HERE. I would give it NEGATIVE 10 stars if it was possible. For breakfast I enjoyed the lobster benedict, which was easily the best "benedict" variation that I have ever eaten, (my eggs were cooked to perfection). Review is only based on Friday night dinners when they have the fireworks show at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Keep in mimd that this is a hotel that is "beachfront" and fine dining so it is pricey. Our server Ginger was fantastic! It was my wife's bday so she brought her a special desert as well as a lei. Also we were given a table where we could see the sunset. We had the seared ahi and the mahimahi, with scallops for an entree. Everything was well cooked and their sauces were very tasty. The main benefit for Friday's at this restaurant is that the dinner guests are escorted to a private patio area where you can view the fireworks. Then after the fireworks you return to your table to finish your meal/desert or coffee. They validate if you park in the hotel. It seems that Ginger is the server taking care of the "window" seats and she will definitely take care of you during your meal. read more

This is a review for the breakfast. All I can say about it is that it was incredibly mediocre considering the cost of the food. Do not come here if you have high standards or consider yourself a foodie. The food was simply not good and the "breakfast potatoes" were just 5 boiled potatoes with some salt which was not what I expected at all. I asked for the guava juice and they served me a full 5 dollar cup with no ice. Nothing terrible to say about the service but it was not outstanding either. Based on some of the reviews on here and it being a hotel restaurant, I went in to Bali with low expectations but walked away from this meal pleasantly surprised. Took my family here while staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village and had a an excellent meal. Located conveniently at the base of the Rainbow Tower, the restaurant has great views of the lagoon and beach in front of it. Watching the sun go down from our table was like being in the middle of scene on a postcard. For our meal we each started with own serving of the bone marrow, which was amazing. The flavor combination between the marrow, accoutrements and sauce was so delicious. We were both glad we got our own even thought the amount of marrow was generous. We followed that up with a bow of the lobster bisque and everything season local sweet bread. The soup and bread were both excellent. For entrees my gf got the whole Kona lobster and I got the 16oz bone in ribeye with roasted garlic and shallots and bernaise on the side. My gfs lobster did not disappoint. It was preached with plenty of easily accessible delicious lobster meat and butter. My ribeye was cooked a tad closer to medium than my ordered medium rare but outside of this was excellent. I'm usually pretty picky about my steaks and often walk away disappointed with restaurant steak, but in this case walked away pleasantly suprised. We split a side of truffle risotto which was delicious. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and very good anticipating our needs.
