While staying at Hale Koa for 10 days I ate here often! Lunch & dinner was always scrumptious yummy with awesome staff service. I love their French onion soup so flavorful, I had that often also the salad with papaya dressing was amazing delightful to my surprise I wanted to lick the plate clean! Never disappointed here the staff was so kind too!

The food is mediocre here, although the service was pretty good. The chairs are really uncomfortable and there's not much of an ambiance here if you dine inside or out. It was reminiscent of an upscale cafeteria. I could see dining here if you really didn't want to leave Hale Koa grounds, but there is much better food in Waikīkī and the surrounding area. My family wanted to eat here on a whim and we hadn't been in over 5 years. I did enjoy the lobster! It's was perfectly steamed and not overcooked. The filet mignon was very tender but not juicy. There was just something about it that we didn't enjoy.

I really enjoyed the food at Bibas Grill. I found their menu selection had a good variety to choose from. The lobster and shrimp salad was very refreshing with a unique papaya flavored dressing which we had for starters. My favorite main dish this evening was their braised beef boneless short rib prepared in a red wine demi glace. It was so tender, rich in flavor, and just melts in your mouth. I also tried their macadamia nut crusted red snapper fish served in a lovely mango butter sauce which was delightful. For dessert our family shared a mango cheesecake as well as their seven layer haupia cake which was a nice way to top of our meal. The only item on their menu that I was not blown away by was their Pina colada beverage. There was nothing special about it in flavor or in its presentation sadly. Other than that, I will say that this restaurant is very decently priced for their menu items and conveniently located for guests at the Hale Koa hotel. The setting in the courtyard, ambience, and staff was great. I will definitely return again my next visit.

Bibas Courtyard Grill at the Hale Koa Hotel offers a convenient option to grab traditional American favorites to fresh signature dishes with local ingredients. On this weekday visit it so happen to be the 50th anniversary of the hotel and they had the 50th Anniversary Special - King Crab and Filet Mignon. 1/2 lb King Crab Legs paired with Grilled 6oz. Beef Tenderloin, finished with a red wine reduction. Served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. I just had to select this over all other option as I thought it was a good deal and who doesn't love King Crab. The portions were generous with about a couple of king crab legs and a 6oz tenderloin. It was definitely a good choice as I was completely satisfied. The service was good and attentive and the wait was not long. Bibas Courtyard Grill is an excellent option for fine dining when staying at the Hale Koa Hotel.

Ordered the ribs and tenders. The ribs were juicy and fell right off the bone, which was definitely the highlight. The tenders and fries were just okay. Service was a bit slow, and while the food was decent, it wasn't anything particularly special. Probably wouldn't come back again.

I like Biba's. Excellent menu selection of seafood and turf choices. Nice appetizer menu too with suggestions for pairing wine too. Special shout out to the bartenders for a well crafted Old Fashioned, not a usual Hawaiian cocktail but well prepared. The red snapper was excellent with the creamy mango sauce. Highly recommended. Will definitely return.

Terrific experience. My son's and I tried our favorite dishes. We were not disappointed. Bibas is located on the ground floor of the Hale Koa Hotel. Parking is available across from the hotel. Reservations are not required. A hostess will sit your party. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Since outdoor seating is popular, I recommend arriving early if you choose sit next to the man made pond. Waiter service was excellent because our server was attentive. We elected to order the Mahi Mahi, Shrimp Scampi, and the Salmon. All dishes had great spices and abundance of food. I highly recommend Bibas.

Very convenient dining option in Hale Koa. Hardly a wait for lunch on a weekday. Seated very quickly outside. The service was average for speed and friendliness. The ambiance is nice because seating was in a nice hotel lobby, they also have a bar where you can watch tv and order take out. The food was the worse part of our experience. The fish was dry in our fish tacos an fish/chips. The salad was okay. The kid's spaghetti might have been the best item on our table because the meatballs were good. Price was good for Waikiki.

Brendon was one of our favorite bartenders at the Hale Koa! He is hilarious and very fun to talk to!

We ate here several times during our stay at the Hale Koa! The service was top notch and our meals were absolutely delicious every time we dined here. The atmosphere is great and you can feel the nice breeze whether you're sitting inside or outside. The servers at the restaurant are great and the bartenders at the outside adjacent bar are amazing. We can't wait to come back and enjoy the food again, and see the friends we made at the outside adjacent bar.

Bibas at Hale Koa = vacation vibes, full bellies, and food comas in the best way possible. I ordered the rack of ribs and WOW. I wasn't prepared. This thing was enormous -- like "Fred Flintstone could've shared it with his pet dinosaur" enormous. I had leftovers for two days and honestly, I wasn't mad about it. Tender, saucy, and fall-off-the-bone delicious. We came with friends and kids, and everyone was happy with what they ordered (a rare and beautiful achievement!). The menu has something for everyone, and the portions are no joke. And let's talk about our server -- hilarious! He had jokes, great timing, and just the right amount of sass to keep the energy fun and light. Seriously made the whole night even better. We were cracking up between bites. I wish I remembered his name The courtyard setting is chill and tropical, with just the right breeze and twinkle lights. It's the kind of spot where you linger a little longer just because you're having a good time. Bring your appetite!

We arrived an hour early to the Halekoa so this was our first eat in Hawaii. It was near the lobby area and super convenient especially because we were hauling our luggage around while waiting for our rooms. The gentleman at the front allowed us to leave our luggage behind the front counter so that was nice and helpful. We were seated in the outdoor patio. It felt like 90 degrees outside but we were under a patio with shade. It wasn't too bad except the sun kept creeping closer to some of us who sat towards the outer patio. It got uncomfortably hot at one point. The waitress was great! She was very kind and made sure to bring our waters right away while checking on us continuously. There were several birds around us but I guess that's not something they can really control. Luckily it wasn't too bad. We came on time to eat off the lunch menu. It was pretty pricy for what you get. According to everyone in our party, the food was 7/10. I personally ordered the salmon salad and my daughter ordered the spaghetti with Parmesan chicken. It was nothing that stood out to me especially for the price but I would give it 8/10. Unfortunately, we didn't come back to eat here for the rest of our stay.

And boy were we both blown away (so much so that I believe she returned the next day with others!). The menu had been completely revamped and seemed to take on a more local influence while still being very upscale. Since we both enjoy "sampling" we shared two appetizer and a main. Everything was bursting with flavor! This is what we had: Starter salad from the seasonal menu of watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and greens served on a bed of yuzu infused goat cheese and drizzled with a shiso chimmichuri sauce. Yes, bursting with flavor! I would return for just this dish! Next shared was a tempura battered cauliflower served with a robust curry and yogurt reduction. Deeeelicious. I wouldn't say we licked the plate... but I won't deny it. Hahah. Finally shared the seafood in curry soup (think a lighter version of laksa) served with white rice on the side. Holy moly. No words to describe. Portions were generous enough to share still next time, I won't. That memorable you won't want to share. No longer serving volcano black rolls, tho absolutely serving amazingly wonderful dishes. Volcano black pancakes still available at breakfast. We kept on oooing and ahhhing and asking about the chef. Our servers Gale and Lily, who provided the most awesome service told us "Chef Lance" (as he is affectionately called) moved over from the Mariposa (Restaurant in Neiman Marcus) over a year ago. Further research revealed Chef Lance Kosaka has brought experience from noteworthy restaurants: Top of Waikiki, Merriman's, 53 By the Sea, and most recently Mariposa. I am hoping he will bring in a notable creme brulee that I loved at both the Top as well as Mariposa! Not wanting the deliciousness of Chef Steve's cooking to end, I also ordered a warabi salad to go for the next day. It was...just as wonderful as the other dishes we enjoyed. Thank you to Servers Gale and Lily, Chef Steve, actually...the entire staff who elevated a casual evening of dining to be a most memorable experience! Thank you to sister friend Karen who insisted we dine here, for the most wonderful company and meal. Validated parking in the building accessed on Seaside. Validated for either 2 or 3 hours depending on the promotion. Kamaaina discount of 10 percent given. Will we be back? Absolutely. And I won't wait so long this time to return!

And my sandwich was amazing: the garlic chicken hoagie, topped with macaroni salad. My only nit to pick is that, while the fries were tasty, I wish I could have had a larger portion of the salad as my side dish. The chicken was great, but the macaroni salad was incredible. I scraped it off to eat separately. The plate also came with a little dish of sweet pickles, which complemented the rich chicken and mac salad nicely. The attached market is also a little more posh than the thousands of ABC stores, so take a spin through after you eat. There's also a coffee stand and a flatbread place, but the pièce de résistance of this marketplace is definitely Basalt.

We were there for about two hours and only saw around three other parties, so the whole place just felt really quiet and empty. The one bright spot was the service. There was only one server working, and he was incredibly nice, friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We got the set menu. We started with the hamachi crudo, which was good. The beet dish was really pretty, but I thought it was a little bland and didn't have much flavor. They also had their own take on a baked potato with sour cream and chives, which was actually really yummy. The shrimp/prawn dish with the butter sauce was probably my favorite dish of the night. The bao was okay, and unfortunately, the chicken adobo was extremely salty. It was also basically a huge piece of chicken with adobo sauce, so it wasn't really my favorite. We were really excited to try the rabbit butter mochi because we'd heard so much about it. It was super cute and definitely one of the most unique presentations, but unfortunately, it tasted like soap. We wondered if maybe the mold had been washed right before serving because there was a very strong dish soap-like taste to it. LOL. Obviously, things happen, but it was especially disappointing because I really wanted to enjoy the butter mochi. Also, the tap water was honestly some of the worst restaurant water I've ever had. It tasted very strongly like a pipe or metal. I even asked for lemon wedges, but it still tasted the same. I never complain about water, but this was genuinely difficult to drink.

Light, crispy shrimp with a flavorful slaw and just the right amount of heat--basically a flavor party in every bite. The burger was another quiet star. Juicy patties, nicely seasoned, and stacked just right. Nothing super flashy, but really satisfying. Definitely a good pick if you're not in the mood for brunchy stuff. The Miss: Tried the French toast and... meh. It looked great on the plate but tasted dry and definitely didn't live up to the level of the other dishes. Might've just been an off day or a matter of personal taste, but I'd skip it next time.
