After a long flight, my family and I were able to put our luggage down in our hotel room, and we went downstairs and came to this restaurant. We ordered off their dinner menu, they have some fusion mixtures of pastas and Hawaiian dishes. My sister and I shared the ribs for two. It was more like ribs for 3 It came with a side of vegetables, and a bowl of french fries. For tip and taxes we paid about $50. We had even enough to take back to our hotel room. And we ate it on the beach the next day. This restaurants in a great location at the Hale Koa hotel. This hotel is a great spot for military and service members. Came here with some visitors from Japan. It's a convenient Waikiki restaurant located in the Hale Koa Hotel that validates parking and takes reservations. The ambiance is casual with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has nice selections from short rib and ribs to pastas. They offer a kids menu too with spaghetti and chicken strips. I ordered the Maine lobster and shrimp pasta. The chunks of lobster were rubbery. The white wine sauce was lacking flavor. It would be better with more garlic or lemon like a scampi. The alcoholic beverages are pretty cheap though! The mango flow was a spin on a pina colada for $10. Nice presentation. Not very strong but sweet and creamy. The food is average tasting and the prices of the entrees is a bit high for the flavors, portions, and ambiance. However, go on a Friday and enjoy the fireworks after Nextdoor. read more

The food is mediocre here, although the service was pretty good. The chairs are really uncomfortable and there's not much of an ambiance here if you dine inside or out. It was reminiscent of an upscale cafeteria. I could see dining here if you really didn't want to leave Hale Koa grounds, but there is much better food in Waikīkī and the surrounding area. My family wanted to eat here on a whim and we hadn't been in over 5 years. I did enjoy the lobster! It's was perfectly steamed and not overcooked. The filet mignon was very tender but not juicy. On this weekday visit it so happen to be the 50th anniversary of the hotel and they had the 50th Anniversary Special - King Crab and Filet Mignon. 1/2 lb King Crab Legs paired with Grilled 6oz. Beef Tenderloin, finished with a red wine reduction. Served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. I just had to select this over all other option as I thought it was a good deal and who doesn't love King Crab. The portions were generous with about a couple of king crab legs and a 6oz tenderloin. It was definitely a good choice as I was completely satisfied. The service was good and attentive and the wait was not long. Bibas Courtyard Grill is an excellent option for fine dining when staying at the Hale Koa Hotel. read more

We live on island and took family members visiting from Europe here for dinner. The menu has been updated and, in my opinion, upgraded. I had the Red Snapper with Mac nut topping and it was excellent. Our waiter was great. The only negative part was the receptionist. She was rude and firing off orders, ie. "Inside or out! ID!" I'm sure if she tried to smile it would break her face. No greeting or thank you. Just a glaring. I'm hoping she was just having a bad day but there is no excuse for the behavior. read more

Overall the food was good. The braised short ribs were so tender and the mashed potatoes were some of the most flavorful ones I've had. My partner had the pasta with vegetables which he enjoyed. My dad got the ribeye which was a disappointment. It was quite tough which is surprising for that cut of beef. The mud pie was also surprising because we could not find an Oreo crust. I do not recommend their Happy Hour. Located inside the Hale Koa Hotel. As for ambiance, there is nice outdoor patio seating; that's probably the only good thing. $14 for two basic Kalua Pork Sliders is not worth it! That equates to $7 each for "pre-made" pulled-pork in a Hawaiian Roll. Also, the Skewers were just premade and heated as well. For comparable prices, I recommend going next door to bars at the Hawaiian Hilton. Average overall service. read more

Terrific experience. My son's and I tried our favorite dishes. We were not disappointed. Bibas is located on the ground floor of the Hale Koa Hotel. Parking is available across from the hotel. Reservations are not required. A hostess will sit your party. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Since outdoor seating is popular, I recommend arriving early if you choose sit next to the man made pond. Waiter service was excellent because our server was attentive. We elected to order the Mahi Mahi, Shrimp Scampi, and the Salmon. All dishes had great spices and abundance of food. I highly recommend Bibas. read more

Very convenient dining option in Hale Koa. Hardly a wait for lunch on a weekday. Seated very quickly outside. The service was average for speed and friendliness. The ambiance is nice because seating was in a nice hotel lobby, they also have a bar where you can watch tv and order take out. The food was the worse part of our experience. The fish was dry in our fish tacos an fish/chips. The salad was okay. The kid's spaghetti might have been the best item on our table because the meatballs were good. You have to be worth allot of money to get invited to dine here. We spent money to stay at this hotel and never once was able to get a table at this restaurant. We were told they were full and it would be a 30 min wait, but there were 15 open tables not including outside tables. I asked if we needed a reservation and they don't take them. But the two ladies right behind us as we left, were seated immediately. We didn't look like we had money evidently, so we never got seated. Unfortunately for them, I prob make more than 99% of the patrons here. Won't stay at Hale Koa again. Wasn't a very pleasant experience. read more

Bibas at Hale Koa = vacation vibes, full bellies, and food comas in the best way possible. I ordered the rack of ribs and WOW. I wasn't prepared. This thing was enormous -- like "Fred Flintstone could've shared it with his pet dinosaur" enormous. I had leftovers for two days and honestly, I wasn't mad about it. Tender, saucy, and fall-off-the-bone delicious. We came with friends and kids, and everyone was happy with what they ordered (a rare and beautiful achievement!). The menu has something for everyone, and the portions are no joke. And let's talk about our server -- hilarious! He had jokes, great timing, and just the right amount of sass to keep the energy fun and light. Seriously made the whole night even better. We were cracking up between bites. I wish I remembered his name The courtyard setting is chill and tropical, with just the right breeze and twinkle lights. We arrived an hour early to the Halekoa so this was our first eat in Hawaii. It was near the lobby area and super convenient especially because we were hauling our luggage around while waiting for our rooms. The gentleman at the front allowed us to leave our luggage behind the front counter so that was nice and helpful. We were seated in the outdoor patio. It felt like 90 degrees outside but we were under a patio with shade. It wasn't too bad except the sun kept creeping closer to some of us who sat towards the outer patio. It got uncomfortably hot at one point. The waitress was great! She was very kind and made sure to bring our waters right away while checking on us continuously. There were several birds around us but I guess that's not something they can really control. Luckily it wasn't too bad. We came on time to eat off the lunch menu. It was pretty pricy for what you get. According to everyone in our party, the food was 7/10. I personally ordered the salmon salad and my daughter ordered the spaghetti with Parmesan chicken. It was nothing that stood out to me especially for the price but I would give it 8/10. Unfortunately, we didn't come back to eat here for the rest of our stay. read more

A nice find on the pool level of the Hale Koa. Usually have drinks here before I hit up the pool area, but I've also eaten here in the past. Menu changes a lot I noticed, but I when it was available the coconut shrimp was awesome. Service is always 5 star here. Especially some of the ones I see on a regular basis. I'm not 100% sure of their names, but I can remember BRUCE ROMEO and IRIS. Man those three characters. Make me laugh when I eat too. Good times! Give those three a bonus. read more

The lobster crab cake could have been perfect, but it was fried too long. The breading was what screwed it up. The server was pretty bad. She was friendly, but that's about it. We didn't have reservations but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the Big Island Honey Glazed Garlic Salmon, the Filet Mignon, and the Flame Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Pineapplr Chimchurri Kiawe Smoked Beurre Monte. Pretty good outdoor lunch at Hale Koa. We had the fire-grilled hamburger steak with sautéed onions and rice and a seven layer haupia cake. I really enjoyed the hamburger steak and gravy. We split it and it was pretty filling. The cake was more of a yellow cake with coconut in the frosting and the haupia layers very thin. Our server did an excellent job of taking care of all the tables by himself yet still being so kind. (I hope he doesn't have to do that every shift.) It is definitely a nice relaxing place to have lunch without a crowd. It was fairly quiet for an outside restaurant and quite relaxing. I want to come back because the dinner menu has a lobster crab cake made with blue crab which I cannot wait to try. read more

Wonderful food and really great service. Such a beautiful atmosphere! A great retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Dinner favorites include the salmon and spareribs. My parents love the macadamia nut encrusted red snapper. The Caesar salad is always super tasty too. read more

Rude!!!!!! Went to Bibas for dinner. My son was in the water prior, but was dry. We sat at the walkup bar since he could have been a little moist, but really wasn't. Sitting in the walk up bar, you have to order to go. No problem. We had a party of 6 and our order was $150.00. We had 3 steaks and jumbo crab. I asked if I could have plates and silverware. She rudely came back with 2 paper plates and said you have plastic ware. I let her know there were 6 in our party and her response was, you can use the lids. Get to our table and found out that there were only 3 plastic forks and knives. I ask for 3 more plastic forks. They had to have a discussion of how many plastic forks were given and if I was allowed to have 3 more. Cutting into my daughter's filet, her plastic fork broke. Luckily, the bar was nice enough to allow us a few metal forks. The staff at Bibas was so freaking rude. Fittingly, as we were finishing up our dinner, one of the largest rats I've seen in some time, ran through the place(see attached pic).. The bar staff, very friendly. I wish I could've worked just with them. This would be a 5 star review, although my the medium rare filet was pretty dang rare. read more

My Ribeye and shrimps, seasoned veggies and mashed potatoes were delicious and I enjoyed the relaxing environment. Next time I will order double seasoned veggies and no mashed since I am now a low-carb eater. We also had the Lobster Crab Cake also delicious. The Mai Tai was on the spot: it has the perfect amount of alcohol. It was also delicious. I was very happy with my meals and drinks. Oh and the Diamond Head Mud Pie was delicious as well. read more

Do yourself a favor and skip bibas. It is quite possibly the worst food you can find in Honolulu. I've been here twice over the past few years and both times it was truly god awful. It's like a worse version of dfac food that you're paying a lot for. The chicken is awful, I think it's boiled. I've never tasted anything like it. The service is the slowest I have ever seen anywhere, hands down. I think they have hotel workers as waiters, rather than hiring people with with actual serving experience. read more

The hostess station ( manager and hostesses ), rude and very unaccommodating . We thought it was a one off but when we Returned the second day same issues with the same people . They made us feel like second rate citizens . And when it was brought to their attention they offered us a half assed apology. They couldn't even get that right! Located on the ground floor of the Maile Tower at the Hale Koa, this is a great restaurant for dinner and special occasions. We always come to the Hale Koa for Thanksgiving and Bibas always has a special Thanksgiving turkey special for dinner that includes a pumpkin pie. We ate dinner here several times during the week we stayed here. They have a small kids menu to appease the picky eaters. And the rest of the family always appreciates the surf and turf options. Super friendly staff here and in a great location. read more

Wasn't super impressed with this place-- usually hotels have top notch food, but Bibas was just okay. I had the spicy shrimp Alfredo and it was good, solid flavor and a piece of bread. They unfortunately gave my son reaaaalllly hard chicken tenders from the kid's menu so he ended up eating a lot of my dinner. My husband ordered appetizers as his meal which usually works, but he only got 1 crab cake with his order of crab cakeS and the coconut shrimp only had 3 shrimps... wouldn't have been enough to share even if we wanted to! He did say the flavor was good though. We made reservations for 6pm for 5 people and when we got there we were informed them the 5th was a toddler so we got seated at a 4 person table and had to cram in with the high chair. We they had 5-6 person tables on the edge of the outside area but they said their policy was not to allow high chairs there even if they wouldn't be on the side where the edge is. Unfortunate because it was a tight squeeze! The food was also kind of expensive for what you get... we paid $119 for the 5 of us but I wish we would have just gotten a bit more or just better quality. I want to visit other places around here to eat! read more

We came to Bibas Courtyard Grill to enjoy an early dinner. The place definitely has the room to accommodate a large group; if needed. When the server placed the appetizer (lobster crab cake) on the table I noticed it needed a drizzle of sauce or at the very least plated with sauce.; but I will say it was flavorful. The entree was Shrimp and Maine Lobster Symphony; accompanied by Focaccia Bread, which we asked to have olive oil for. The meal overall was delicious. Kudos to the servers and hostesses. Food - We tried their......... *16oz Rib eye steak with a sauce over it called Pele's Fire cream sauce (didn't really care for the sauce) wish it didn't Have any sauce on it. *Twin lobster tails (4oz tails) comes with Jasemine rice 1scoop and veggies (decent lobster it's okay if you ask me) It's a good Resturant for folks that are staying at Hale koa hotel since it's just in the lobby area, but honestly I'd rather go to other restaurants for better food and for the price as well. Parking - Parking is in their parking structure located across street of the hotel a 2 to 4 minute walk, and you'll have to walk up these long stairs (if you know you know). Hotel doesn't do valet services so just a FYI. read more

It took about 10-15 minutes before our server showed up to take our drink order. By then, we already memorized the menu and placed our entire food and drink order. As we waited for our appetizers, the restaurant started to fill up. The tables around us got seated, and 2 large groups of 10 also were seated. An HOUR later, we finally get our appetizers while the tables around us got their appetizers and their entrees. Some were closing out their tabs. We asked our server and he said the kitchen was backed up. Even if the kitchen was backed up, why were folks seated after us getting their meals before us. We had to placate my mother who wanted to walk out. The most frustrating part was the 2 large parties who were seated at least 30 minutes after us, got their appetizers and entrees BEFORE us. Located inside the Hale Koa Hotel on the bottom floor. From the lobby you can take the stairs down or there are elevators to the left. They take reservations. Service was ok, they are welcoming but a little slow, however I do understand they seem short staffed, even on a slow day (Tuesday late afternoon). They greeted us but with no smile and our server did not introduced themselves, so we were a little confused to who our server was. (There were multiple people). The SAILOR'S PARADISE was the drink I ordered and it sounded good on the menu, but it was not great at all. I think the Midori did not go well with the spiced rum and it strangely tasted like mint. I should of stick to a li hing margarita like my parents ordered but I wanted to be different...lol. Mistake on my end. I ordered the SHRIMP with LOBSTER LINGUINE and surprisingly it was so good. There were enough chunks of lobster, 4 large shrimps, but a decent amount of pasta drenched in this white wine,buttery lemon sauce. Preferably, I would add a little more pasta and less sauce since it was runny and not thick. Almost soupy, I think what would help is having some bread to drench all that goodness. Overall, my experience was ok, came with family and this spot was convenient for them to have dinner. The place looks outdated and touristy inside, but I recommend sitting outside since it seems more welcoming. read more
