Heard about this place from an attending, who brought in a bunch of bagels with spread for us one morning! I don't like bagels normally. I find them dense, dry and cakey. THIS PLACE IS NOT THAT- I gladly had the salt bagel with chive spread. A little chewy on the outside (in a good way), soft and fluffy on the inside .. I wanted another. So my husband and I stopped in and ordered sandwiches. He got "Smokeshow" and I got the "Brookgreen". Devoured in minutes! They are working out the kinks of being a new business in a high stress location (construction on Forrest Hill). Worth the stop in. Be patient and kind! I'd like them to stick around. Obsessed and can't get enough. I've tried both the Smokeshow (softie bagel was fire) and the Snowbird (loaded with salmon). If you're reading this review you HAVE to give this place a try. Gluten free bagels are not made in house. They are Udi's and are not advertised as such. Giving 4 stars because my husband loved his gluten filled bagel. I, however was very disappointed to receive a store bought cardboard equivalent bagel after waiting 35-40 minutes. read more

Went in this morning and got a River City Sunrise (for breakfast) and a BBBLT (for lunch). The Sunrise is an everything bagel with choice of sausage (what I got) or bacon, scrambled egg, cheese, and a schmear of green onion cream cheese. I had not thought of cream cheese with eggs but the whole thing was large and delicious. The sturdy paper wrapper is a must, here, to hold everything together. Certainly one of the best breakfast sandwiches in Richmond. Ever had a BLT that needed more bacon? The BBBLT is not such a sandwich. It is FULL of good bacon and is even served on a toasted bacon bagel. It has the obligatory tomato, lettuce and mayo - and it is superb. Great for lunch or breakfast. Keep in mind I went the first day of soft opening. Got the Sunrise bagel sandwich, softie bagel was a great idea. Softer bagel for sandwich's so stuff doesn't spill. Eggs and cheese were fluffy and get flavor. Bacon was pretty good as well but looking forward to other options. Staff and owner were super friendly. Updating because I went back again to try some more items. Don't sleep on the Taters! They were delicious and a generous serving that I was able to share. I also tried the River City Sunrise sandwich which had the BEST slightly runny scrambled eggs on it. Went earlier this week for soft opening and was blown away. The River City Sunrise (Bacon, Egg, Cheese, Scallion Cream Cheese, on a softie everything bagel) is everything you could want or need in a breakfast sandwich. The bacon was nice and crispy, the eggs fluffy, the scallion cream cheese the richness and tang you want. It was by far the best bagel breakfast sammy I've ever had! Yero (the owner) was taking everyone's orders and was incredibly personable even as the store was busy (even asked if my name was spelled with a C or a K - which had no baring on my order but was a nice personal touch). The bagels are very good. I have been here several times and will come back. But today I ordered a dozen cinnamon raisin bagels and when I got home and cut them in half to freeze and eat later, I noticed there are hardly any raisins in the cinnamon raisin bagels--and most of the "raisins" appear to be specks of portions of raisins. Not sure if this is a one-off, but I hope this is addressed at Baltik and corrected. read more

Went in here with super high expectations based on a neighbor's recommendation and they were easily exceeded. The River City Sunrise sandwich was everything it promised and more. Every element perfectly portioned and prepared. Despite how busy it was when I arrived, service was lightning fast considering, my wife's order was a custom order and they got it 100% right too! It's mostly a to-go place but they do have a few tables, the smell alone is worth hanging out here though. Can't wait to return. read more

While I like the bagels, the service and attention to detail is awful. Ask for no cheese and get cheese, ask for garlic herb and get plain, ask for the dozen bagels to be sliced-nope. Ask for a refund on the charge for slicing-nope. These were three separate orders. So, I upped it to three stars, the bagels are good, but they need to figure out how to check orders for accuracy. read more

went to their soft launch/free bagel week & had a wonderful experience!! i got their everything bagel with whipped cream cheese & my fiancé got one of their bagel sandwiches - they were both delicious!! you could tell the bagels were fresh & we both agree they might be our favorite we've had in richmond! the line was out the door but they were still able to move everyone through fast and efficiently. the staff was very thoughtful and courteous to us & seemed to be a well oiled machine already. we can't wait to be back!! read more

Look no further Richmond, best bagels in town. If you like the 'traditional' boiled & baked, wonderful crust, chewy AND soft interior for bagels, then this is the spot. The other spots in town are good but not great in terms of texture... i'm not really into the chewy, super dense, jaw busting bagels. So, I'm the guy who complained last week because the store was always sold out. Now that they've got their production up and running more smoothly, I'm really happy to come back and say these are excellent bagels! I love them toasted... they're nice and crisp on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside. And, with the everything bagels, I like how the spices are on both sides of the bagel. What really makes Baltik's shine is everything in between. The cream cheeses are rich. The meats are crisped to perfection. The flexible toppings options are delicious. The side tater tots are awesome. To top it all off, the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Fantastic bagels and friendly service are the cornerstones of this bakery, and since my first visit, I have become a regular customer. I usually get 2 toasted and buttered everything bagels to go, which comes up to around 5 dollars. Every other week, I will order a dozen variety bagels, everything, sesame, and plain, which rings up to 15 dollars and change. My coworkers agree that they are the best around town, and it beats a dozen donuts, which cost around 17 dollars. If you want to go to the hottest new bagel place in Richmond, you should probably assume it's possible they'll sell out of product quickly. That's why you set an alarm, leave early, and grab a spot in line. If you do this, it will 100% be worth it. I got there just in time and ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel and they were out. Obviously, this is to be expected from a new and very good bagel shop. They sell out of bagels because they're really good. I went for the sesame bagel with the whipped cream cheese. Although I have not been able to try Baltik's Bagel yet due to them selling out, I am glad to have them in the area! I've visited twice only to find they sold out earlier than expected, but I want to give them some grace because they are a new establishment. I suggest implementing a text notification system for customers when you sell out and an opt-out option for those who no longer want to receive alerts. Additionally, updating your Instagram story daily about availability could help manage expectations. Best of luck! read more
