Excellent food and great servers. Management could use retraining. 6 servers offered to take my plate or boxed food as trash while I intended to eat it. More than half the seats were open and I was working at the airport. I was on a phone call with a new client discussing signing their agreement when a server walked up and grabbed my plate with more than half my food still on the plate. Total time spent at the near empty establishment was under 1.5 hr. Completely unacceptable considering many people in airports are traveling for work. I would have addressed the issue in person if I wasn't juggling work and dinner then ran to my gate. The manager April 26th at approx 730pm was standing by doing nothing while servers ran around as if their job was in jeopardy. After serving and bartending for over a decade, I have seen this before. I am currently in sales and I have seen over baring management have this effect. I strongly encourage upper management to consider customer experience rather than burning and turning seats when the establishment is empty. I'm glad I didn't see the reviews prior to coming here during a layover flight at IAH. I had about an hour before boarding my next flight and ran across this place since it was near my departure gate. I ordered the Bam Bam Street Corn which was pretty amazing choice! Don't think I've tasted corn similar to this anywhere else. For my entree I decided to go with the Crawfish Etoufee which was also great and it was a pretty large portion. We has a lot of time waiting for our flight back to OC. This place is located in terminal C next to gate 5. There aren't great choices in this end of the terminal, so we decided to try it out. It's more Asian type of food. but also has a mix of creole. We got spring rolls, garlic noodles, seafood gumbo and an Asian chicken salad. Everything was very good. The seafood gumbo was kind of watery but had decent flavor. I would pass on the garlic noodles next time. I didn't think the flavor or portion size was great. Overall, a nice place to stop if you have time for a meal in the Houston Airport and are in Terminal C near the single digit gates. Ok the 5 stars is for the pho I ordered. It was SOOO GOOOD! It was expensive for my bowl of pho which came out to be $16 but it was so delicious. The broth was on point and the meats were tender and nice size. Noodles was just right even though it looked small at the beginning, it ended up being perfect. I like their ordering system on the iPad and not having to interact with a server as much. The servers were nice though and they delivered our order well. I really enjoyed my bowl of pho here and the lady near us ordered fried rice and it looked good too. I wish they had this at every airport! I also thought the decorations in the restaurant to sell some items were nicely put together. I liked the light sign that's read "we were made pho each other" it was cute. I ate here before my flight out. Also the game was playing which was nice. First, I was eating at the bar and the seats are kind of bar style seats but fixed in place. I was not a fan of the seating setup. Humans aren't one size fits all. It's cool to order on the little screen but I don't think it's too sanitary. My biggest gripe is the receipt. You can get it emailed or text but no hard copy. Some may be ok with this but I really need a hard copy as this was a business expense. The food was decent but not with the price. Total trick. Houston airport. They market the place like it's mid to upscale food. On my return home I ordered general tso's chicken. It tasted burnt. Sauce was very weak. A frozen box of Chinese food heated up in the microwave would have been better. I had the quick Chinese around the corner on my departure layover and it was twice as good and half the cost. My four star review is based on the ambience and the only food item that I've tried here - the chicken bahn mi. Let me start off by saying if you are looking for service, you will not find it here. The workers here are friendly, but mostly non existent as you basically order your own food from the iPads at the tables. The people who "work" here will bring you silverware, get you water if you ask, and deliver your food when it's ready, but other than that, you really won't see them. Most times of the day, this place is kinda empty so the ambience for me is great for a busy airport. The dining area is clean and they have outlets at every seat. I haven't eaten here many times and always get the chicken bahn mi. It's $12 and comes with a side salad. Airport food can get very expensive and to me, $12 is great for the high quality bahn mi sandwich that you get. So, this is mostly a tip for the airport rather than a real review. I definitely recommend getting a bite here if you have a layover at IAH and are craving a good bahn mi at a reasonable airport price! Nice place to relax and charge your devices :) read more

You have to order through the iPad interface that tries to run facial recognition on you and wants to scan your boarding pass. Yes, please, steal my identity while making it impossible for me to order anything. The chairs are all nailed down, so don't bother trying to sit down if you're not an average-sized male. Connecting in Houston, my work colleague and I stopped at Bam Bam because it was next to Gate C4. We ordered the seafood fried rice and the chicken banh mi. Serving size was generous and service was friendly and quick. The food, however, was somewhat disappointing even for airport food. The banh mi was decent: chicken was grilled and the bread was soft. However, the bread was a wheat roll and not your typical French bread, and the garnish (pickled carrots, cilantro and jalapeño peppers) was a tad light. As for the seafood fried rice, it was more oil than seafood (bay shrimp, crawfish and strands of crab meat). It was also bland and the Sriracha helped, but it didn't cut through the oily rice which is not sitting well right now on our flight... BM BM is located in the airport in Houston. I don't usually eat at airports because the food is expensive, but a 7 hour layover was the reason I stopped here. It was right by my departing gate. They specialize in American cuisine, but offer a few international items also. I was in the mood for sushi, so I ordered a spicy salmon roll. This was surprisingly good for airport food. I've eaten here before and it wasn't that bad. Doable (obviously) since I came back. Tonight will make me never return. Multiple iPads were not working, so I had to move around to find one that was. Had to ask for water three times. I had plastic silverware and had to (eventually) flag a manager to get a boat for my soy sauce (my sushi sat for about ten minutes, after asking a waitress once already). Apparently nothing was washed. Fried rice had zero flavor and the portion was TINY. Sushi rice was hard and sushi was about the size of a quarter round. Find somewhere else in the airport. Pretty decent Vietnamese food and an attractive option to all the meat-centric places in the Houston airport. Service is practically non-existent, since all of your ordering interactions are through the iPad system. Flagging someone for water, condiments or anything else can be frustrating. Short version: Found a hair in each of my two dishes received about 20-30 min apart and to be clear, the hairs were from two different people! Long version: ordered some edamame, it was quite good actually. Ate about 3/4 of them when I got near bottom and found a 1 inch curly black hair. Ok gross but I'm not gonna make a big deal about it. I had eaten most of them, they were good and the staff seemed super busy so I didn't say anything to the staff. So my companion who ordered at the same time as me gets her food, I wait and wait and wait. Something like 30 min later a guy who is apologetic brings it by. Kinda grumpy because tons of other plates had passed by in the meantime but still, just happy to get my food. I take one bite of my veggie rice bowl (and it's very good mind you, which makes it even worse to lose it), and then I notice a 2 inch long white hair with a bit of black . WTF! What are the chances? I get two plates, forever apart and both have hairs from different people???? I was just going to walk away but my companion pulled the server aside who delivered the food and pointed it out and almost immediately he said ah yea I see it, it matches. So he went to the kitchen, took the plate back and said he was going to ask for a new one to go. Waited 20 more minutes, at this point it's an hour since we first arrived and still nothing comes out. I was getting grossed out looking at my edamame with a hair and it was 5 minutes past our boarding time so we just got up to leave. As we're walking away a waitress comes and says "did you guys send this back?" And has a bowl again. Ergh, we said yes because it had a hair in it but it was supposed to be in a to go box. Had the Gumbo with a side of cornbread. The Gumbo was spicy and smokey. A large portion of soup, with a small dollop of rice. I would have preferred more rice to offset the spice. The soup itself was thin, and mostly broth. It's been years since I've been to Nola, but I don't remember gumbo that way. They also served the cornbread dunked into the soup. You order your own food and pay on a tablet. You can use your miles to pay! Such a cool united feature.The bartenders were talking about the drama of someone getting fired in front of me instead of being more discreet and were talking about customers while at the bar which is unprofessional. My wine came out quick, but the bartender didn't say a word even though I said thank you. Seaweed salad was good, it came out on a bed of lettuce and shredded carrots. Not that I needed but on the table setting, I had a plastic knife and a real fork...hmm...Rainbow Roll came out and the server used his words O.o I was suprised it's like he read my mind haha, it tasted well.
