The fried catfish was a large portion, and the batter was on point with being light, soft, and crispy. It flaked apart easily and was super tender. The Comeback Sauce was really good and paired perfectly with the crawfish. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Overall, solid spot. Definitely worth checking out if you're into boils and fried seafood.

We weren't super hungry but wanted to sample various things so went with the seafood combo platter, side of fried okra, collards, and my partner got a small gumbo jeaux. The food came out hot and fresh and in to go boxes, I don't think they carry dine in settings but we were provided extra togo containers to eat in. The fried platter was done very well, fish was super tender and moist with a nice crunchy cornmeal batter. The shrimp were also excellently fried and retained their bounce without being overcooked. The fries and okra were also just too notch to me. I also liked the hashbrown and thought it was a nice sweet bite to go along with the fried foods. I enjoyed the flavor of the collards but thought there was a bit too much broth to greens ratio, the flavor was on point for me though. I had a small taste of my partner's gumbo and thought it was good but didn't have much to make a strong opinion. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, esp with it being so close to me. Just before closing, we had the place to ourselves and got to shoot the S with the owner who gave us its very cool history. 38 years in, and a few miles on his ledger, Marty still cranks out some fabulous food! The place was like walking into the 50's, with the old school metal tables and ample linoleum. I LOVE Louisiana cooking, and it couldn't have been more authentic. The only problem I had with my shrimp gumbo is the bowl was too small (actually a filling portion) and loaded with succulent, tender shrimp. Yummmmm! The cornbread was sublime and dipping it in the gumbo was killer! John had a Po Boy and said it was heavenly. The fries were obviously fresh cut and perfect. We were told that the grill was backed up and that's what had taken so long. The restaurant was very busy and people were standing around everywhere waiting on a table. The service was a little slow in regards to refilling drinks and checking up on us, but that is probably due to the holiday. The food was good, hot and the quantities were big for the price. We have been to this location several times before and the service has always been good and the orders have always been on point, so I'll let it slide and will definitely return.
