Bamboo is our favorite buffet in this area. Although the food selection is not large, most of it is well-cooked and tasty, and they continually restock the buffet. The staff has generally been polite--by Asian buffet standards--and accommodating. My favorite items include General Tso's chicken, coconut/fried shrimp, sweet & sour chicken, boneless spare ribs, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons, chicken wings (when fresh, they're moist--not so if they've sat out for a while), and ginger & green tea ice cream. Every person gets either Miso or hot & sour soup with the meal, but I usually opt for their other food. This isn't a place where you should go if you're planning on eating lots of buffet sushi (in contrast to say, Minado). It's a pretty bland and limited selection. Prices per person are about $15/person for a weekend lunch, and $12/person for a weekday lunch buffet, which is more affordable than several other local buffets which aren't any better. The worst time to go would be 12-1:30 weekday lunches because there are many offices in the area which like to come here for lunch. There's often a long line at the buffet and empty items because of the volume. But hey, there must be a reason they keep coming back, right? read more

First time at Bamboo and it was a big thumbs up from us! My boyfriend and I decided to try it out on a Friday night, nervous we might hit some wait time. Not knowing how HUGE the dining area was we were able to get a table right away. We started off with crab Rangoon which is always a fan favorite for us. The appetizer came with 6 crab filled rangoons with 2 types of dipping sauces. For our meals we couldn't decide on 2 sushi rolls, so we had to get 3! My favorite was the Red Lion Maki that had great taste and was extremely fresh. The one thing I would change is a little less avocado on the Green Dragon Maki. I love avocado but the thick layer on top took away from the mango and shrimp flavoring on the inside of the roll. Bland food -- absolutely without taste. Chicken Sukiyaki tasted like dishwater and when I asked for some soy sauce in an attempt to season it, our server side-eyed me. I shouldn't have to season the food, that's why I'm paying you! It didn't help, it just was so disappointing. I can cook better than this at home. The Pad Thai my daughter ordered was unlike any we'd ever tasted. Odd sauce. It's almost like the people cooking in the kitchen have no clue what the food is supposed to taste like. Reminded me a lot of how Indo-Chinese restaurants are in India, with respect to the seating and ambiance. The food was pretty decent (I loved the Singapore Rice Noodles and Scallion Pancakes) and I think I'll definitely visit again for more! read more

Last night we enjoyed an array of their terrific offerings, strating with some Gyoza, Veggie Tempura and crab rangoons, they were all delicious. The cocktails ae very creative and range from your normal Scorpion Bowl (Volcano) to the delectable BAMtini, (Stoli's Vanilla, Midori, Pineapple Juice etc.) Yummy. The Main Courses are very generous, fresh and always satisfying. They are always adding some imaginative specials to their menu as well. The best part of Bamboo, in my opinion is the Staff, May, the Manager is one of the tops in the Customer service field, she is friendly, warm and will go to great lengths to assure that your experience at Bamboo is top shelf. Although it is your typical Chinese fanfare with Japanese sushi accents, it is strangely appealing. I went during the week for the buffet. If you aren't paying (and boss is), it is reasonable at $13ish including a little soup and hot tea. Inside is very elegant and roomy, which welcomes many business meetings. You will find the suits, ties, and military personnel lunching here. It may look all serious and proper until you get to the buffet line. The animals, heum diners, are casually queuing up for grub and picking/choosing, hemming/hawing over the selection while there is a hold up in the sushi corner. Very weird. read more

For me going to Bamboo was a bit of a hike but my friends assured me it would be worth it, and Bamboo did not disappoint. Between the 7 of us we ate about $400 worth of Sushi. I cannot tell you everything I had but I can tell you all was great. The Celtic and Red Sox rolls were great! They also had a special lobster sweet potato roll which was definitely my favorite. They brought the sushi out on these 2 huge sushi boats, great presentation. The restaurant was very well designed inside and out, and the service was very friendly and helpful. All you can eat is pretty overrated. Food overall is alright, slightly overpriced. The best thing is the steak. I wouldn't pub the all you can eat sushi though. Very limited supply and not much selection - sub-par at best. The Chinese food is alright, nothing special. read more

This has been our go to spot for Chinese food in the area along with szechuan gourmet. The food is always fresh and spicy just the way we like it. We have used Bamboo to cater family events and even held some events at the restaurant. They do a great job even when it comes to catering. The service can be hit or miss but the food makes up for it. read more

The buffet at Bamboo is tasty! I have eaten here three times and I really like this place. I really like the sushi bar at the buffet. The Chinese dishes in the buffet are nice. I liked their schezuan chicken and lo-mein. Everything was cooked nicely, the buffet was frequently stocked and nothing was too oily or greasy. Tip: Try the green tea ice cream for dessert. All the food is piping hot, and they even have a SUSHI buffet included, with real raw fish, not your crappy california and cucumber roll selection. We stayed at a hotel nearby while visiting the area. The interior is well decorated in the minimalist Asian style. The service was truly great. Our waitress was polite and attentive without hovering. The Jasmine Tea was really good and prefect after a long day. I got the spinach fried rice and I enjoyed it. My husband got the General Gau chicken and thought it was excellent! He says the chicken was crisp on the outside and yet moist inside. The sauce was great and was a great interpretation of the traditional sauce. Pretty good considering the options. But not amazing by any means. The lunch buffet is much better than going off the menu. The food is no better off the menu at night and you end up paying more. Went tonight and got the Kung Pow Chicken, beef with asparagus, egg roll, shu mi, and hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup is different than just about every Chinese restaurant I have been to. Not sure how to describe it. The first time I had it I didn't like it but after a while it grows on you. The Beef was good, while the Kung Pow Chicken was a bit cold. The wrapper to the egg roll was a bit thick so I didn't like it all that much. The shu Mi was good. The service was good and nice decor. Its a solid three star restaurant. Not amazing but good... I would try to stick to the buffet though, its the same food and you have much more variety. read more

Just stumbled upon this place on our way to the Burlington Mall for some Black Friday shopping. My wife is so-so about Chinese food but really enjoyed this place. I did as well - both flavor and presentation of the lunch specials we ordered(Chinese stir fried) were well above average, The only thing that was a bit substandard was their version of hot-and-sour soup. Had this weird pink color and was neither hot nor sour. Bland and flavorless at least to us. They also have a big sushi bar as well as a buffet but we opted to order off the menu. I highly recommend this place. Staff is super-friendly and clearly take a lot of pride in what they do. If it wasn't for the strange take on hot-and-sour I would have fated it a 4.5. read more

Have eaten here twice in last 3 weeks both for the sushi. Very nice sushi menu, good value for the price. Last week sat the sushi bar, good service, also got a chance to sample the Toro sashimi when it became available. Beautiful presentations, and cutting of the fish which enhanced the taste. read more

Atmosphere is nice, service was good, but the food was mediocre. We arrived too late for the buffet and ordered from the menu. The sushi was weird and have had better tasting from a grocery store but the presentation was cool. The LO-mein was soggy and the shrimp were overcooked. I love this place for chinese food and sushi. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant outside the city of Boston. It's an easy drive from anywhere near Burlington/Bedford. There is plenty of parking. We love the Sunday buffet. And it's not your typical below average greasy chinese buffet. The food is high quality. The sushi is excellent. Decent take out with prompt friendly service. Scallion pancake was crispy but would have been better with more scallion. Dumplings were delish. Hot and sour soup was a little strange and a different take on this dish. I would never judge a Chinese restaurant by a buffet. Frankly you get what you pay for. Ala Carte dinner is a lot more expensive then buffet and also better. I liked the Singapore Noodles (among the best I have tried), the modern decor and the very lively bartender (who I briefly spoke with). In the Polynesian Shrimp with Pineaple I liked the size and number of shrimp and the black pepper seasoning; I did NOT like the overabundance of pineaple chunks which gave the dish an overly sweet "americanized" taste. I WILL eat here again. HINT: For REALLY GREAT Chinese food, 3 places: Bernards (Chestnut Hill Mall), C.K. Shanghai (Wellesley, RT. 16 on Newton line), and Myers and Chang, South End (some dishes ONLY at the last place). Really enjoy the lunch buffet here. I always find something that I enjoy and the price is more than reasonable. I've never had an issue with service in all the times we've been here, but parking can get a bit hairy during lunchtime with the the crowds form nearby businesses coming in.
