Crab rangoons, combination fried rice, orange chicken, lo mein, triple crown with white rice.

Good food conveniently off of 290 and good flavor. If you don't like spicy, ask for no peppers prior to ordering.

This food truck sits nestled in a courtyard with three other food trucks which all share a large covered space with five picnic tables. The other three trucks are Mexican, burgers, and Indo-Pak cuisine. They do have a gravel lot for parking which holds about dozen cars. There is a menu on the side of the Chinese food truck, but all the prices are missing, however they do have a physical menu that they will hand you. After you order, they will hand you a buzzer letting you know when your order is ready. When you pay by credit card, they will hand you the handheld device which will suggest a tip. From the time we placed our order until we received it was 12 minutes. I might suggest you bring your own water because the drinks here are expensive. To be honest, after I ordered and paid for the food I forgot to order any drinks, so I went to the truck next to theirs and spent $7 for one soda and a small bottle of water. We ordered the chicken fried rice and beef with broccoli and an egg roll (gotta admit that egg roll was great). We decided to dine under the enclosure, but had to continually ward off the flies and keep an eye on the ever present grackle. I would suggest getting it to go unless you like to eat out of a styrofoam container with a plastic fork while fending off the unforgiving flies. I enjoyed my beef and broccoli, it was perfectly cooked with the broccoli being al dente. It was good and filling, being generous in size, but I've had better. My friend had the chicken fried rice which he considered subpar due to the chicken looking and tasting as though it came out of a can. Best to avoid that dish. If I lived down the street, I'd give this place another chance, but I'd make it to go. Plenty of photos included for more insight.

    Combination Fried Rice

Tried the Combination Fried Rice and Cream Cheeses Wontons (not pictured). Taste was amazing and by far better than other Chinese food I've tried in the area. Thought it was pricey, but the portion size made it worth it.

So good and they're so quick. The kids chicken fried rice is enough to have as 2 meals. Love the food and service!

    Kung Pao Beef

I've had Kung Pao beef from Bamboo Express twice now, and both times the food was excellent. I got a little obsessed recently with eating Kung Pao, which should be spicy, savory, and crunchy, and I have been somewhat disappointed with the various versions I've been having from other restaurants all over Austin. The Bamboo Express version is heavily seasoned, thickly sauced, and comes out piping hot. Lots of small, crunchy veggies; tons of peanuts, lots of tender beef, and everything was very fresh. The order has been fast both times. Lunch and dinner prices are reasonable. I got lunch the first time, and dinner this time. The only thing I can't tell is whether there's much of a difference between the lunch and dinner. It's one carton, with the entree on the big side and the rice in the two pocket side. Lunch and dinner were both like that. Maybe the dinner portion has more main dish? Hard to tell because I thought the lunch was generous, and the dinner portion was definitely big. Can't remember the lunch price, but it came with an egg roll, is cheaper than dinner, and was equally good. Dinner portion was $14 after tax, and for a food truck I think that's a decent price for a heaping carton of really well made food. I was thinking dinner would be two separate containers, one rice, one main entree, but either way I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the food or the amount. One note. The pricing is wrong somewhere. It's maybe 50 cents or a dollar more than what's listed, after tax? That needs to be updated.

Opened my soup and saw a baby roach. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! Had to throw out the entire order and was refunded!

It was located across the road from HEB in a shopping plaza. Ample parking. The interior was fresh and nicely decorated. Upon entry we were greeted and told we could sit wherever we preferred. We both ordered entrees which came with soup and a veggie egg roll, which we upgraded to pork rolls for an up charge. The tasty soup was a nice start. The Szechuan beef had a good amount of beef and veggies and the sauce was delicious. The Sesame Chicken was nice and crispy yet tender and perfectly sauced. We were served fairly quickly, but once our meal arrived we had to flag down our waitress for tea refills and the check. Overall we enjoyed lunch. We would return if we're in the area.

This business is not properly signed, and I walked around the parking lot twice until I came across it. I did decide to phone the order in since other yelpers said it takes about 20 minutes for preparation. It's best to get it to go, since the dining area is outdoors and sparse. I should mention it's a little tricky to get in and out of during rush-hour. As for the food, as others have mentioned, the portions are generous and it is cooked fresh. This is good restaurant quality food at reasonable prices. I should note, that they do not have a tofu dish or hot and sour soup. This is definitely a place that I would visit again for my Asian food craving. Photos and a video for more info.
