After reading through many of the reviews, I found most of them to be pre-Covid and there weren't a lot of pictures. You should know this is a family owned convenience store with a kitchen in the back that makes up the food. It also doubles as a meat market and caters to the Aisian and Hispanic market. Unless you like dining in at one of their two small tables surrounded by merchandise, I'd suggest you get it to go. They have a pretty extensive menu with reasonable prices and everything is cooked fresh on the spot. They have cold drinks, beer, and wine to purchase to go as well. As for the food, apparently they don't always have the fresh spring rolls which we wanted and their hot and sour soup is not exactly the best. Unfortunately their fried rice contains very little in the way of peas and carrots and was very mushy. The steamed rice is a better choice. Generally the food was just OK, I've definitely had better. To be honest, the Bamboo Garden food truck just 2 blocks away is better. I was surprised that while I was checking out with a credit card, there was no tip screen which was unexpected. We had a taste for Chinese food for dinner. Boy did we make a big mistake by coming here. The food was very overcooked. It had a ton of salt on it. Tip: More salt doesn't make it any better, it just makes it salty. It's a shame that when I called to complain, I was hung up on. The prices are over priced for this food. I give it 5 thumbs down. Decent Chinese food and big portions, BUT The owner is a complete douche bag. Consistently one of the rudest people I've ever had to deal with, and not just me, but my wife and daughter as well. We've all come to the same conclusion, that we'd absolutely rather NOT support third guy. ***CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST HERE AT ALL*** At first I witnessed him berate HIS CUSTOMERS, ACCUSE THEM of making mistakes on ordering their orders when in fact is was him, and I witnessed him over charge people and/or make mistakes on their orders and then turn it around and place the blame on them, TELLING THEM what they ordered and/or should've ordered lol. At first we'd talk about what a jerk the guy was to other people while picking up our food, and noticing he has a short or nonexistent fuse, but then we all started experiencing the same accusations and very rude behavior. Him getting our order wrong, trying to overcharge us, insisting we ordered things we didn't, and then witnessing him just walk away because he doesn't like what he's hearing. I wanted to chalk it up it up to him just being a grumpy old Asian guy and soon realized it's just him all the time and it really is unacceptable. I can completely understand him having a bad day or an off day, but it seems to be him all of the time. Despite the decent food with big portions and proper prices, it's gotten to the point that it's simply not worth it anymore and we'd rather take our business elsewhere... By the way, don't try the phò unless you want the most overcooked mushy noodles that will simply disintegrate into your soup lol... you've been forewarned. So good! Please note, this review is just for some Chinese takeout that I ordered. We called in an order for two different kinds of chicken and an order of vegetable Lo Mein. They said it would be ready 15 minutes. We live about that far a way so after a few seconds of dilly dallying, we headed over. Some of the parking lot was a big puddle, and there are multiple doors to go in. It didn't seem to matter which we went through as the space isn't harshly divided. There was one man behind the counter of the deli section, and he quickly greeted us, came out, and rang us up. While that was happening, I browsed the shelves and noticed they sell a ton of snacks that you typically see at a Hispanic grocery. Tamarind treats, coconut candy, and mazapan! I promised myself I wouldn't get any snacks this time, but I'll definitely be snagging something on our next trip. We brought the food home, and it kept my lap toasty, so it was pretty fresh. It was delicious. Every order was correct and everyone loved their food. We'll be back for more Chinese, and probably get some Mexican food in our order in the next go around. I read a review yesterday and decided to check out the Chinese food. I ordered Pepper Steak & General Chicken. I live in Elgin and when I got home and tried to unpack the food the pepper steak literally fell through the container because it was so hot. It melted the styrofoam container. I called back to the restaurant and he said I took too long to eat it and that the containers are very thin. He didn't even offer me to replace my meal & I offered to bring the food that had fallen on my floor along with the container. He said there's nothing he can do. Hole in the wall meat market/corner store in Manor. This is not a fancy sit down restaurant but there are some tables inside to sit and eat. Having just moved to Manor and never been before, we went inside and placed a to-go order. Our food took about 10 minutes, probably less, to be cooked, packed, and ready to go. We ordered the crispy honey chicken and the chicken with chinese vegetables with fried rice. The portions were huge and we had lunch leftovers for the next day. The food was AMAZING. This is the best Chinese food I've had since moving to Austin and it reminded us of what we're used to back home in New Orleans. None of that "fusion" or "healthy" stuff here. Basically a meat market with a space for tables and chairs. This didn't deter me. Most dive places have the best tasting food. I got an order of crab ragoons. The listed stated they came with 4, but we only received 3. Not a hug big deal since they didn't taste that great anyway. They were a little overcooked, so they were hard to eat. I love crab ragoons, so I'm always on the hunt for places with the best filling. These ragoons filling was more on the sweet side, which is not a preference of mine, so I wouldn't order them again. My boyfriend ordered combination fried rice. He said he didn't care for it, but he ate all of it. So, that one is up in the air. I ordered the chicken vermicelli with an egg roll. I love vermicelli and was impressed that they had it and pho on the menu, The egg roll was okay, not my favorite, but I wouldn't mind eating it again. The vermicelli was basically vermicelli noodles with chicken and garlic on top. Typically, the dish is served with chargrilled chicken, but it seemed that this was a leftover dish tossed on top of noodles. Though, the chicken had a great flavor, it was disappointing. Sparing the details, I'm going to try to REACH out to as many people as I can on Yelp: THIS IS NOT A SERVICE-TYPE OF VENUE. THIS COUPLE SERVICES YOU OUT OF COURTESY! This business is structured in a "food court" type of way. If you need something, please FEEL FREE to ask them OR whoever is nearest in the kitchen (as you would at any family-friendly food court). If you cannot find something, just let them know! I have mentioned before that this is a very different type of place, but I really appreciate the kindness and patience this family has. And I am so darn picky with many, many things. Many people do not understand the concept of this business & complain that this place has terrible service, but you must remember: IT IS A STORE FIRST BEFORE IT IS A RESTAURANT! Quick service, friendly folks, good food....all just minutes from my house. That's saying something, especially in our little town of Manor. Winner, winner, General Chicken's for dinner! Hadn't stopped in in my year in Manor, so decided to check it out , finally. Ordered General Chicken (which included fried rice), Combo Lo Mein, and 2 egg rolls to share with my daughter. A big batch of egg rolls had just come out of the fryer, so we had great timing. They were THE best thing! Yum. Really, they were outstanding. General Chicken was good for my daughter, but a tad on the mild side for me. I didn't see the hot chili oil tucked into the rice container, since I wasn't eating that. Wish I had seen it in the restaurant (we'd been accidentally given to-go containers when we planned to eat there... We were offered plates and utensils NO PROBLEM, when I mentioned we wanted to eat in. In fact, the lady was very sweet and accommodating). Anyway, I used the chili oil on the General Chicken leftovers and it was perfect for me. The Lo Mein was really good, all the included meats were beautifully tender, & the veggies crisp-tender, as they should be. For $20 my daughter and I each got a fresh, hot dinner... AND a plate of leftovers for lunch the following day! Not bad. We are Chinese food snobs and we LOVED this place! We shop at the Walmart in Manor occasionally, eat at the new Whataburger and have even eaten Chinese food at the Panda Place because of convenience. Tonight we wanted Chinese but didn't want to drive the 20 miles to our Go To place, so I looked at Yelp. I can't tell you the number of times we have driven past this place, never once thinking to go in. Because of the good Yelp reviews, we decided to try it out. I ordered Beef with Broccoli and egg rolls. The egg rolls were served first. Very tasty and cooked just right. I had fried rice with my entree and half way through I had to stop, there was so much food. The beef was tender, the brown sauce was very tasty without too much salt, and the vegetables were cooked just right. I took 1/2 of my meal home for a snack tomorrow. My wife, a real foodie, had vermicelli and beef. She too really enjoyed hers. They served chili oil With the egg rolls. Was just the right amount of heat, again very good taste. Both of us were very impressed with the service, the food, and the sauces. We will be back! We did notice that they had many to go orders when we arrived, and there were a number of "regulars" who came in and greeted the staff like they knew them. If you've heard about La Fogata and still opt for Panda Express, I think you're an idiot. La Fogata is a classic example of never judging by the location. Away from 290 by a mere mile, tucked inside a Mexican meat market, you'd probably think it wise to pass this place by. If you do, you've made a huge mistake. This little place is a gem. Food cooked to perfection, excellent menu variety, service second to none BUT, the food, OMG the food! I've never had oriental food prepared with such perfection. Found this little gem on the way out of Austin! Mom and I were starving and yelped Vietnamese food and this convenient store/cafe popped up. The hot and sour soup was amazing! I got Vietnamese plate and also some Chinese food and it was all over cooked and hard to eat and very dry. The rice was crunchy and all the food we got and sucked and none of it tasted good at all. I spent about $53 and money down the drain. They do not know how to make Vietnamese food as it was horrible and they mixed that food with Chinese food and they really don't know what Vietnamese food is. This place is absolute perfection. It's part market and part restaurant. So you can order take out and shop while you're here or dine in. Either way the serving sizes are gigantic and they never disappoint. My family has been in Manor for over 10 years now and we use to go to Ramos next door but their service and food has become absolutely horrible over the last 5-7 years. So we needed somewhere new to eat when we didn't want to cook and we are so so so very happy that this little place came along. I couldn't believe that Manor had good Chinese food when I first found this place. What can I say? My wife and I lived in China for 6 years, so we have a pretty good idea of what's authentic and what's not, and this food is pretty damn authentic! Whatever it is you like: Kung-Pao, Pho (which isn't Chinese, but whatevs), Lo Mein, Stir-Fred Beef with Broccoli - you can't go wrong. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable, at about $10/entree and portions that can feed two people easily. Before you call, make sure you know the item number from the picture of the menu. The man who answers the phone pretty much only knows the item by these numbers, so don't try to describe them to him or say their names as this doesn't really help. Also, the menu says they have stir-fried green beans. This is a myth. I am so psyched to have such quality Chinese food near my house in Manor. What a pleasant surprise! read more

The is a hole in the wall place attached to the meat market but has great food at an awesome price. The portions are large and heaping to where I always have seconds if not thirds left over for the week. My personal favorites are the Crab Rangoon - these are amazing when they are made but even better the next day even cold, not reheating needed. They are on the sweeter side but if you're like me they it matches perfectly. My sister and husband goes crazy over the sweet and sour chicken (he doesn't even use the sauce) they can eat these in one sitting. The fried rice is good I really enjoy the combination to get a bit of everything, my hubby likes the Beef and Chicken fried rice. We had looked on yelp for an interesting restaurant recommendation while going home and stumbled upon this little gem. Atmosphere is a dive inside a meat market but the food is really good. We ordered sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken and jalapeño beef. All were really flavorful. I appreciated that the batter was light and crispy and not thick.
