Solidly good Chinese food for the city of Martinez. This was our first time trying the food from this restaurant. We tried the pork fried rice, it was delicious. The hot and sour soup is just the right amount of pepper and vinegar. My son judges all Chinese food by their Orange Chicken, and he gave it a big thumbs up. The salt and pepper fish was crispy and had fresh garlic and fresh jalapeños, scrumptious! All in all a great meal. We would definitely give them another try. read more

Came in because of the positive Yelp reviews and check-in discount. The place was clean and the server was friendly. The food was prepared quickly with fresh ingredients and served piping hot. I enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken which was prepared well. The zucchini in the dish was not over cooked and tasted great. It was a tad on the oily side making wish I had ordered it with light oil, but otherwise really good. Compared to other Chinese Food in the area, Bamboo Garden gets high marks. Friendly staff. Offers many vegan options. One of my favorite takeout spots in the area.

Fire is decent, you dine in you get the lunch special, but other than that food seems a little over cooked at times, maybe replayed.

We tried bamboo garden for the first time and it did not disappoint. We ordered on Uber eats. We had the vegetarian sweet & sour chicken, vegetarian general tsos chicken, hot & sour soup and veggie spring rolls. As vegetarians, it's hard to find good meatless options. The owner/manager called me right after we placed the order & asked if we wanted the hot & sour soup to be regular or without beef. So thoughtful! We will definitely make this a part of our regular rotation. read more

Their Honey Prawn Shrimp has the biggest shrimp I've had in that dish. The Chicken Curry...yummy, and the best Hot & Sour Soup I've enjoyed in a long time. Since discovering that restaurant a couple of weeks ago, we have been there 3 times and hosted a family dinner for 10 people there that everyone loved. Aida, the server is the best. My wife and I considered the old restaurant, China Gourmet, our 'go to' restaurant for Chinese take out for many years. When the ownership changed, the first take out meal we ordered was just not very good. So, for months, we went to various other neighborhood restaurants looking for a substitute. Most were good, but not what we were looking for. We tried Bamboo Garden again last night on a whim and WOW, it was great! I don't know what changed in the kitchen, but the sizzling rice soup was delish; the Chinese chicken salad was as tasty as it used to be from the old ownership and the pork Lo Mein was wonderful. Our General chicken was excellent too, but my wife found it a tad spicy, but ate every morsel. We are glad we have our 'go to' Chinese restaurant back. If you haven't tried Bamboo Garden, give it a go. You won't be disappointed. read more

We had not had Chinese food for quite a while and were craving it. We had tried this restaurant before and it was good the first time. Our take out order was ready in about 10 minutes. This time the food was outstanding. One of our favorites is the honey walnut prawns. The shrimp were large and delicious. The egg rolls were very tasty. The chicken in the chow mein and the beef in the chow fun were tender and juicy. All the food was very fresh. Looking forward to the leftovers. We will be going back again. read more

We are regulars here when it was formerly 'China Gourmet'. Food is good here. However, I prefer China Gourmet: the quality seemed to be better and friendlier. First, I'm not crazy about the small take-out containers here which appear to be half the size of the ones used by China Gourmet. The small container sizes don't seem proportional to the prices that they charge for main dishes. Also, service here is courteous. However, friendly service adds a nice personal touch. Overall, the small small containers for take-out are really a deal breaker for me. I'm okay with paying more for the same amount of food. But I'm not okay with paying more for substantially (amount) less food. read more

The prior Chinese restaurant at this location was great. Good food and service and, if there was a problem, they would fix it then if eating inside or make sure we had a credit when returning for another to-go order. They retired and new owners of Bamboo Garden have not shown the same care for their customer, me. On 5-27-21 we ordered about $50 worth of food to go and specified No onions of any kind as they absolutely ruin our meal. Of course after a half hour drive we got home to find the $14. Mongolian chicken smelling of and covered in onions. We called the business thinking that they would credit us for the next time and all we received from the kid who answered was Sorry - Sorry about a dozen times even after we asked several times if that was all he was going to do, he said sorry again. Sorry, we used to make a trip to that location about 4 times a month usually spending about $ 50 or more and now no more.. read more
