The food was cold and tasteless, and after eating it, my stomach started to hurt, which was really disappointing. Don't bother with dessert because it's terrible, and the chicken wings and fried items tasted like they had been left out for a while; it was unpleasant. The customer service wasn't great, but the sweet lady at the front was the highlight. On the positive side, the buffet had a warm and cozy atmosphere.

DO NOT COME HERE! JUST DO NOT COME HERE PLEASE. Ate half a plate of very old and stale food. Came in at 6:45pm on Sunday of NYE and paid $45 for 3 people (1 kid). It was so very bad to the point the sweet and sour sauce wasn't even edible. Please do not waste your time or money here. HOPE YOU READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU GO! You're welcome. UPDATE: Because I went up to the front to pay within 10 minutes of being there, they came to my table to give me a full refund. They knew we didn't eat anything and took full responsibility.

They simply just aren't the same since having to make changes after and due to the pandemic. It's a hit or miss thing with them now days . Some days you'll get some really good food , and then there's other days where you regret eating there. Theres A few things that they use to offer (one example being the steamed crab legs) that they are no longer offer, their fried salt and pepper shrimp are soooo much smaller these days. Lack of items or quality but they increased the admission. Currently this restaurant is still serving everything on Togo/paper plates. Which I'm sure that helps with disposing food . They usually have really really good fried soft shell crabs , only this time I'm assuming they were spoiled because they had a strong ammonia smell and taste to them. We decided on getting an all you can eat Togo order , where basically you stuff your plate/s up with all the food you want and then they weigh it to determine your price . We left with 4 large plates Togo and a small cup of of egg drop soup , which came to a total of $56. Again, it's really a hit or miss type of place . It's really hard to give a fair review because I've been a regular at this establishment for over 11 years now , but again the food and even the service isn't the same any more . Some days the food is really good and other days the food is as though it's food from the previous day and its just been reheated .

The atmosphere of the place is amazing. The servers there are so helpful and their service is impeccable. They place a big importance on quality. The noodles and rice are to die for, well cooked and seasoned. I can't stop coming here. And I enjoy the singing and crooning of Mr. Louis hahaha. Their take-out keeps me coming back for more!

In all my decades of driving between Houston and Dallas, I had never stopped here. Determined to…read morefinally try something new - and to not hit up the usual Buc-ee's or Woody's and the like - we stopped at Sam's last Friday. And I'm glad we did! If you're seeking something quick, gourmet, trendy, or unique, Sam's is NOT it. But if you have time to sit down at a classic Texas comfort food joint and enjoy a buffet with items such as southern fried chicken, fried catfish, brisket w. BBQ sauce, fried okra, corn, mashed potatoes, and a whole lot more, then Sam's is worth checking out. They also have an ala carte menu of southern classics. Oh, and if you opt to do the buffet as I did, you can help yourself to a few different freshly made warm desserts or ice cream, and at no extra charge. $19.99 was more than fair for buffet and that's more than fair for what you get. There is also a fruit and salad bar which I didn't partake from and I couldn't even try all the hot food. Oh well...there will be a next time!

First, the service was excellent, I believe our server was named Presley. Very kind, always checking on us and keeping our water and tea full. On the buffet, my dad enjoyed the salad he had, but was surprised at the little variety offered that day. He said last time he was there with my brother there was more to choose from. He then got the fried chicken, which was greasy and barely any chicken on the thigh. I tried to find a drumstick but it was just breasts, thighs and a few wings. He did like the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. As for the fried okra, you have to eat it fresh. It is sitting under a heat lamp just makes it soggy and slimy. I ordered 4 vegetables a la carte which came out to be as much as the all you can eat buffet. First, their onion rings are OUTSTANDING! So is their homemade ranch. What was disappointing was the green beans, they definitely came out of a can and were heated. At $3.99 I expected fresh. There may have been a small piece of onion in it. Not sure if that was how it was cooked or if it fell in from another dish. The black-eyed peas were tasty. I also had a cup of the chicken corn chowder which was good. However, there was pieces of cubed chicken in it which also made me think that it was a prepackaged soup and not homemade. My dad got the coconut cream pie, which tasted good, but could have used more coconut then just on the top. He wanted bread pudding or peach cobbler, however at the time of day we were there, they had been picked over way too much, not leaving much for anyone else to enjoy. I did like the selections in the gift shop and purchased a tea towel before we left. I always like to try a place 3 times so I may stop in and try something else. Again, great customer service.

So we were able to get one nice full plate of breakfast and then lunch was served at 11I believe and we also got to try the lunch buffet as well. I love that they have a lot of vegetable options because I am a pescatarian and don't eat meat besides fish. Regardless, if you have breakfast, lunch or both they charge the same amount, 15 dollars. They are open from 7am until 2pm. They only do the buffet on the weeknd. But if you order from the menu, the serving sizes are also very large, they are also open on the holidays. So if you don't want to cook, this would be a great place to check out, especially if you have family in town as they have a lot of tables that seat large parties. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. Especially since it was our first time here, but it will definitely not be our last

That day, my wife wasn't in the mood to eat there, but she accompanied me anyway and had a hot tea while I enjoyed my meal. One thing about me when I go to a buffet--I like to get everything I want in one go, so I don't have to keep getting up. I typically have four to five plates in front of me to avoid interruptions. While getting some egg drop soup, I noticed an elderly woman across from me at the buffet. She was getting wonton soup, and since we were directly opposite each other, I greeted her politely with a "Hi, ma'am" as a sign of respect. She smiled and nodded in return. As I moved to get some steamed fish fillet, I paused because she was also serving herself. What caught my attention was how she used the wrong serving spoon, and instead of taking a small portion, she pinched off pieces of the largest fillet and dropped them into her wonton soup. I found it odd, but it wasn't my business, so I brushed it off. However, what happened next completely ruined my appetite. She reached for a piece of breaded shrimp, dipped it directly into the entire pot of sweet and sour sauce, took a bite, and then--without hesitation--dipped the same shrimp back into the sauce. To make it worse, she walked away, leaving sauce dripping everywhere. I was so disgusted that I immediately informed the owner. She acted promptly, removing the pot of sweet and sour sauce and apologizing. I paid for my meal and left, completely put off by what I had seen. To make matters worse, I later noticed the same woman picking her nose while eating. The entire experience was unsettling. I sincerely wish the restaurant would have someone stationed at the buffet to monitor such behavior. People who are that unhygienic should be removed from the establishment. Let me be clear--I'm not here to badmouth Broadway Buffet. I actually enjoy their food (though, in my opinion, China King is better), and I appreciate having a Chinese buffet nearby without having to drive far. However, this experience left a lasting impression, and I felt compelled to share it with others who dine there.
