I've seen this restaurant in the neighborhood for a couple of months and decided to try it out. 1st was the passion fruit tea and it was excellent. From the appetizer section I tried the Red oil Wonton. It was flavorful and bold. The chopped nuts, oil green onions, garlic, and spices made this a treat. Although it's listed as hot, I found the heat to be more in the medium range. From the lunch menu I tried the General Tso Chicken. Before going further, this was a favorite dish of mine 20 years ago. There was a restaurant in what is now uptown center that made the best general cell I had ever had. I've been trying to re-create that experience ever since that restaurant closed down. The Chicken was tender and the outside provided a much crisp crunch. The vegetables were nice and crisp and the sauce was not too sweet. This dish is hard to pull off successfully and they did a pretty good job. There is soft Asian music playing in the background adding to the experience. They have 2 TV's and the sound is off which I found thoughtful. I enjoyed my meal and will try this restaurant again. GN3

I like that they have the traditional Chinese food along with the Americanized version as well. The restaurant is small but the one time I went in to eat it was busy with people coming in to pick up their food and the tables being occupied. I will come back to dine in or for a Togo order.

In the spirit of being fair we gave this place two tries.... Been here twice. Every single time Service has been good and food comes out fast. Waitresses are always friendly. Place is fairly new so it's still clean . We just don't Like the food here. Though it was " they are overwhelmed with the grand opening " but it wasn't . We don't know what it is but None of us like it.

Wish I had taken better pictures. The food and service were great! We ordered the sesame chicken and fried rice. Very tasty!

Decor was clean and seats are super comfy. Workers were really friendly. We may have order too much but everything was soooo delicious. Strings beans cook to perfection. Crunchy yet soft. Fried rice had a little of everything. Walnut shrimp was flavor very well. Usually we scrape off the sauce but it was not strong and yet tasty. Hot and sour soup was comforting and warm up my stomach. We will be back for sure!

Look at all that fresh basil!

Ordered Uber Eats here for Valentine's Day. Never had Chinese food this bad, it was gross. The Egg roll had little flavor and was spongy. The pad Thai sauce was just gross and had spongy meat. The pepper steak sauce was good but again, the meat was spongy and lacked flavor. The fried dumplings lacked flavor and was spongy. Not sure why this place has such good reviews. My boyfriend took a bite of the eggroll and immediately spit it out. Avoid this place and go somewhere else!

Stopped in on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Small, clean and friendly. Variety of hot tea choices which is a good thing! The food was delicious. I tried three different varieties of the dim sum and it was delicious. The soup dumplings with that pop of broth just hits! Spicy is my thing while the wife is not. Her Szechuan chicken was a bit spicy for her but perfect for me. I like it when spicy doesn't overpower the flavor. This was perfect. Waitstaff was very pleasant and helpful. I was very happy to see a more authentic choice in the area without having to go to Chinatown. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed

I was introduced to Fuya by my friend Troy. It didn't disappoint. Food is great, and at a nice price point. The establishment has been very quiet when I've been in (around 7pmish). Very clean, and well lit. Service Staff doesn't take long to arrive at your table with menus and the customary ask for if you'd like water. Your order is normally arriving around 15 minutes.

    Beef fried rice

Very very good food. With so many similar options in the area to choose from this place gets it right. Everything tasted so good. Fresh not overly greasy. perfectly seasoned and the portions are great for the price. Definitely will return.

We ordered the boiled sliced fish in hot sauce (a staple we always get at Szechuan restaurants) and the sizzling with three delicacies (shrimp and fish). The sauce on seafood meal was sooo good! I'm not sure if it's oyster sauce or bean sauce but it's amazing. I just poured the sauce on the white rice and literally ate it like that too. Since we ordered takeout, they even offered us a place to sit while we waited, which I appreciated. Here's what we ordered: * House Lo Mein - $14.99 * Stir-Fry Flat Noodles w/ Beef - $13.99 * Sweet & Sour Pork - $15.99 * Crab Cheese Puffs - $5.59 Total came out to about $54.74, which is pretty reasonable for the portion sizes and variety. The food overall was flavorful and fresh. The noodles were cooked well and had a nice balance of sauce without being too heavy. The sweet & sour pork had that classic crispy texture with a bold sauce. The crab cheese puffs were decent crispy on the outside and creamy inside but I do wish they had a little more crab flavor to really elevate them. One small detail I loved: the to-go bags. They were sturdy, well-designed, and matched the restaurant's aesthetic definitely gives that extra polished touch. Overall: Great service, solid food, and good value. Perfect for a casual takeout spot when you want something quick but still quality.

The food came out quickly and everything we tried was delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It was extremely busy and it seemed like there were only two servers handling the entire floor. If you didn't ask for what you needed when they initially came by, it was very difficult to get anyone's attention afterward. We had quite a bit of leftovers and couldn't get anyone to come over for to-go boxes or the check I ended up having to go to the front to ask. Overall, great food and a good experience, but they definitely need more staff if it's consistently this busy.

5 Stars - Authentic Szechuan that absolutely nails the classics…read more During our short trip to Houston, as a custom, we were determined to find real Szechuan food, and luckily we found Hu's Kitchen. The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular. The kids completely devoured it on their own, but I managed to steal a bite, and it instantly brought back childhood memories of exactly how this dish is supposed to taste. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles, which were great and rounded out the meal perfectly. I loved all of the dishes we tried. Should we ever find ourselves in Houston again, we will absolutely be revisiting this hidden gem.

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

Speaking of the menu, I really enjoyed checking items off of a paper menu, it felt very old-school. I was there with my parents, and we decided to get a couple entrees to split family-style. We got ban ban noodles, yibin noodles, pork and crab dumplings, a breadier kind of dumpling which I think had pork in it, a scallion pancake, a beef pancake roll, and chrysanthemum tea. All were delicious, no complaints. My favorites were definitely the bready meat dumpling, it just melted in your mouth, and the yibin noodles. I also really enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea; they delivered a big pot and several cups, and there was enough in the pot to fill each of our cups three or four times.
