I have been eating here and ordering for delivery for a many years. They changed hands a few years ago I was worried. We continued to order from them it was a little different but still ok. Well tonight I ordered 2 wonton soup and a couple of dishes that were just mediocre. But the wonton soup ... OMG NASTY !! We couldn't even eat it. I only had 4 tastes of the broth. I never even got to the dumpling because the broth is so bad. This was always my favorite. I kept trying it to figure out what the nasty taste was but I have no idea. I called and spoke to a women who said she was the owner. I told her that we can't even eat it. "She said we are not doing anything different". This was my experience from an to-go order from Orient Cafe, located at Township Square Center, 3340 FM 1092, Missouri City, TX 77459. I gave this a 2-star rating, mostly because the Lo Mein I ordered was pretty good. Along with the Lo Mein, I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken with fried rice (not the dry white). I have ordered this dish for years, but when I opened my order, the bell pepper, onions, and pineapples were not present! I asked where it is, and the reply was "that doesn't come with that!" I have ordered this dish for years from various restaurants, and Sweet and Sour Chicken always accompanied bell pepper, onions, and pineapples. I didn't bother to argue, so I left it alone. Next disappointment, when I checked my rice, it was white. I reminded the guy I'd requested fried rice, so he took it back, and 4.5 minutes later, he came back only for me to find that they just dumped the little box of white rice into a bowl, sprinkled a little soy sauce on it, re-stirred it, and packed it back into the same box! We go to Orient Cafe almost once a week. The food is delicious and the staff has always been polite and professional. The atmosphere is nice, but the cleanliness is perfect. If you want an enjoyable delicious meal I recommend Orient Cafe. read more

Subpar quality. Ordered pork dumplings & wonton soup, used the same lousy product for both. It was awful; hard meat type product with dried out wrapper, they tasted gross. Couldn't eat it at all. Even the dipping sauce was bad. Also ordered fried rice, it wasn't very good either- but not as bad as those disgusting dumplings. We have lived here for over 30 years and used to order from them or eat in the restaurant all the time. We ordered a year or so ago and weren't pleased but wanted to give them another try in case it was an off day. Nope it wasn't, never again. What a waste of money. read more

I would dine here for the spring rolls alone however their fried rice is so good and one of my kids love their lo mein. I always get a side of the brown sauce to go as well because I like my leftover Chinese rice except for it gets dry but with the sauce on it, it gives it a nice coating and it's well to heat up for the next day. read more

Really wish I could give them zero stars have tried them a couple times and hasn't been too bad but hasn't been great either but this last time last night I got the chicken fried rice with no vegetables cause that's usually what you have to say to get them to cook it fresh, but I ordered that it was the only thing I've eaten that day and I got the worst food poisoning I've ever had literally was throwing up all through the night. I threw up about six times and was not having a great time using the bathroom. I'm still currently not having a great time using the bathroom. I called them to let them know and all they said was I quote "sure we'll look into it." honestly you're disgusting please I know they've remodeled three times but in the beginning, they used to have a little cockroaches running around near your table. I've eaten here many times, both inside and delivery. Tonight, Sunday 4/7/24 I have to say, I was disappointed. The high point was the egg foo young. We loved it. Moo shoo pork was good, but the pancakes were hard and stuck together, as though they made them hours ago and let them sit. The pork lomein noodles were okay, but the pork was very chewy and had lots of tendons that we had to spit out. I hope this was just an off day for them, they've been my go-to Chinese delivery dinner! read more

This restaurant has been here for years. I have been dining here since it first opened in the Missouri City Town Ship Center. As a diner I have seen a change in the food as well as the ownership. The food used to be much more flavorful and rich in taste. A standard dish is the chicken fried rice, it used to have much flavor but now it seem bland. The portion is large but for taste there is nothing there. One of my favorite go to dishes is the Mongolian beef. It seems a though they have started to use more sugar in the sauce and it just doesnt have the same taste as it once did. The chicken garlic sauce again seems as though it's just chicken and a sugar sauce. Nothing that makes you say Wow! The dish used to have lots of flavor and you could literally taste everything that the chief added to the entree. The dining area is good for the type of dining. There is a large television and a fireplace for ambience. There is always enough room for you not to feel as though the table next to you is part of your table. The atmosphere, music and cleanliness is always good. The service when dining is average. Nothing bad but nothing that stands out to make you remember anything. Over all decent, with decent prices. There is nothing that stands out as it once did just an average Chinese restaurant. read more

This place has been a staple of Missouri City for so long. When other big name restaurants fail in this business park- Orient Café stays open. My family and I have been going to this place for years and feel that they have the best WonTon soup & Hot & Sour Soup. For some reason, you just cannot get enough of the iced tea. This restaurant has new management and has just gone through renovation. The place looks very modern and clean. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Big shout out to my wonderful server Kayla who was very attentive and checked up on us often. We received our food quickly and were also served complimentary wonton chips. It's been a while since I've ordered from this spot and to be honest, I really should go more at least for this dish. Unfortunately, they gave me shrimp egg foo young instead of chicken but it was still really good and the tempura shrimp were very good - but they forgot to give me the correct dipping sauce, they put the one for dumplings in my order. If you're okay with not getting what you order but what you get is still tasty, this is the spot! Ok, so wait - they made two mistakes in my order and I'm defending them and saying I should go back.
