This review is solely based on my dish choice--service was great (ordered via DoorDash & all instructions were followed)! I gave this restaurant a try as my go-to Thai place was closed today. My typical order is the Tom yum soup with a side of sticky rice. The sticky rice was great (as you would imagine sticky rice to be). The chief complaint is the soup. The Tom yum soup did not taste like any Tom yum I've had. I was trying to figure out what the flavor was--kind of flavorless and sweet vs sour... the soup tasted like heavy basil. I have never had basil in my Tom yum before & found a huge sprig in my little container. Unfortunately I hate basil so I did not enjoy this selection. It was also on the pricier side $15 for a tiny container of soup. I cannot attest to other dishes but may have to try something else here. read more

This place has ample parking and in a good beach area. We were immediately greeted when we arrived and seated near the entrance. We ordered pork spare ribs, kung pao spaghetti, crab fried rice, fried banana, and drinks. The food was good but we had to send back the pork ribs to get warmed because it was cold to the bite. The crab fried rice was delicious and there were actual crab legs in the rice. The place seemed modern with no real Thai decorations. The place was spacious with a good amount of tables and chairs. Overall, the service was quick and accommodating. The restrooms were clean and the entrance inviting. I will return to try many more dishes. read more

Average Thai Food at Above Average Prices We came here for dinner and it was just OK. We were seated immediately and the waiter was very friendly. We ordered our typical dishes including papaya salad, pad thai noodles with shrimp, pineapple curry, and mango sticky rice. The papaya salad was made with too much fish sauce and was just ok. The pad thai was lackluster with minimal bean sprouts. The pineapple fried rice was OK however there were huge chunks of uncut pineapple which would have been better if diced. The mango sticky rice was good. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant is quite dated. There are lots of scuff marks on the walls. There were 3 large flies buzzing around and sitting in the windows which I think is really unacceptable. Food: 3 stars. -- It's average Thai food at above average prices. The pad Thai was $18 which is definitely on the high side. After Thai Express closed, and another restaurant took its place, I went to Bamboo Thai for my go-to dish, panang curry. The menu price on yelp was $9 for the lunch special. When I got the bill and it was over $32 for two lunch specials, I inquired, only to be told the menu prices were out of date. I said they should be updated and they implied that the customer should do that--REALLY? (I also don't agree that when you get a to-go order you should tip them but there it was....) Later when I was eating I found a long gray hair in the panang sauce which grossed me out (and no, I don't have gray hair myself). I won't be back. P.S. They weren't very friendly either. read more

I had been going to this restaurant frequently for the last couple years. had I decided to go there on my birthday last night with my friend who has a service dog. We were denied service there even showing ID that it is a service dog. My friends a veteran and they wouldn't allow his service dog in the restaurant with him. We left the restaurant and had to find another place to go on my birthday last minute. I don't know if they are not aware of ADA laws but they violated this law not allowing a service dog in the restaurant and losing a frequent customer. read more

This place has fantastic food. We went egg rolls, cucumber salad, vegetable pad Thai, and vegetable chow mein. The service as very nice. The food was delicious. The egg rolls melt in your mouth and the noodles are ultra smooth. You don't oils or over cooked crunchiness you may feel in another places offering the same dishes. All in all other popular Thai places are lucky these guys aren't getting their press even though they right fully deserve it. I am a first time customer at this restaurant, I ordered crispy pork with chinese broccoli and i love to eat it with vinegar with jalapeno, the shorter lady server gave me some already, and when i finished it all, i went to the register and asked the other lady server politely so she doesn't have to come to our table, i went to the register myself so she can just hand it over to me, and she gave me a shitty attitude like i was bothering her and she started talking shit with her co worker coz she was speaking her language, SHE'S RUDE!!!!!! , I work at the restaurant as well and I never treated customer like what she did, she shouldn't be working there at all. Had to make this review because this is such a highly rated place and it felt short of my expectations. The service was friendly and fast and the food was seasoned okay. What I dislike about the place is the bare/cold feeling ambiance of the interior, the poor acoustics of the place making it very loud and the worst thing is that the food is clearly not made by anyone with a formal training in cooking and it shows! Let me elaborate - The fresh spring rolls came out fast, but that was because they had been made many hours before, both the rolls and the peanut sauce was stale and the one tiny little shrimp that was in each was a joke! Whoever is prepping the produce doesn't know how to use a knife. Whatever vegetables that they did'n get precut was chopped very sloppy. I know things have gotten more expensive and onions are a relative cheap ingredients that some restaurants use generously to fill the dish but come on! At least chop them so they are not cut like it was fresh fruit! read more

I used to love Bamboo Thai Bistro, but now I just "like" it. Why? Can NEVER reach them on the phone to call in an order - super annoying (persistently busy signal.) Not the most friendly place - never a smile, kind of rushed and seem impatient. Food. I used to love the food, but now it seems hastily prepared and some of it is a bit greasy. We ordered several dishes from Bamboo Thai after it being recommended by a good friend. We had the edamame, spinach with peanut sauce appetizers which were both good. My husband ordered the crab fried rice, and I also ordered the green curry with tofu. Both of these dishes were delicious! We also ordered the pad Thai, however it was our least favorite of all the dishes. I usually will rate a Thai restaurant based on its pad Thai, which is why I only went with 4 stars. read more

I'm so bummed to downgrade my previous shining review of Bamboo. My husband and I have tried to hang in for the last couple years, coming back to Bamboo every few months or so and each time we remember why we gave it a break: the quality and portions have decreased significantly since Covid. We understand how difficult it must be to run a restaurant during these times and even understand increased prices, but the food should at least remain consistent. We've noticed weaker flavors in the food, smaller portions for sides and salads and, most disappointing, barely-there amounts of meat in our entrees. We can't bring ourselves to give less than 3 stars because the turnaround is always lightning speed for our takeout orders and the folks who work there are so nice, but I don't know that we'll be back for a long while. We hope one day we'll be able to love this little neighborhood spot again. read more
