Ordered two regular sized milk teas; strawberry and peach .They both tasted extremely bitter like actual poison or alcohol, completely undrinkable. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the batch of tapioca that was thrown in our drinks because they would leave a very ashy and dusty aftertaste in your mouth and when combined with the tea it would make it ten times worse. The strawberry milk tea was bad, but the peach tea was horrible. Have come here before and the service was great, but I must say products are very inconsistent in quality and vary from person serving. Sometimes your drinks will come out decent, but more often than not drinks will just be too sweet, and not in a good way! You are much better off buying from any another boba shop. read more

I've tried this Bambu 2 times since I was in town. The first time was a month ago. I tried their #1 Bambu Special Che added lotus seeds. Everything was fine until I got diarrhea for a week, but I thought it was something wrong with my stomach (even that was the only thing I ate that day). The second time was on Sunday (2/23), I took my mom and aunt there, and we all had #2 and #3 Che, which had similar ingredients btw. At the moment when we mixed the desserts up, the sourness smell was all over the place. We had the guts to try to put that rotten stuff into our mouths (definitely regretted!). Just only 1 spoon and we all threw that Sh!t away!! Wasted our $18. And guess what? We all got diarrhea until today (2/25) and I don't think it's gonna go away anytime soon :) FYI, they are known for desserts and call themselves dessert place. NEVER COME BACK & NOT RECOMMENDED unless you want to thoroughly "wash" your stomaches. I also knew Tao Tea and Bambu have the same owner, so I will not go there as well. read more

Very very overpriced. They have their own mixes with absolutely no description of what it is. On top of that they charge you an obscenely high price for these drinks (I paid 8 dollars)The one I got in particular had a Vietnamese name with absolutely no description of the drink. I decided to be bold and try it, turned out to be all salt and ended up being undrinkable to me so I threw it out. I asked the cashier for the description of the drink and she didn't explain it all just said it's good...they explicitly stated they do not do refunds or exchange the drink. This place is really good, and they are always busy, even during this crazy year. I think it proves how good they are. Lots of good options, plus desserts. The only thing I don't like is that the person taking orders is always rude/seems to have an attitude. I prefer Tao Tea down the street because they are much friendlier and also have a lot of great drinks for the same price. Their menu has a LOT of variety which is my favorite part about this place, so I plan to come back and get something different. Finally a franchise specializing in Che (Vietnamese dessert). I was very impressed with the selection of what they had. The shop is modern and cute. The dessert tasted delicious and fresh. I stopped by here for dessert after a gut-busting lunch with my friend in Argyle after seeing that it was finally, finally open! I'm not well-versed in the authenticity of Vietnamese desserts, but I love coconut and jelly-textured things. (I know, sounds kind of weird on paper, but... whatever.) I tried the fruit delight -- can't remember what it was called, exactly -- that had coconut milk and an assortment of jellies in it, along with ice and condensed milk (I think?). I really liked it, but eventually it just got too sweet. BUT still, service was fast and I felt like all the ingredients were super fresh, especially the fruits featured in the dessert. My friend, who loves avocado smoothies, tried their avocado dessert but actually found it too avocado-y. He said there were chunks of avocado in there, which weirded him out a bit. But -- if you're an avocado lover, rest assured that they use fresh ingredients here! Had the bambu favourite and I really liked it. It wasn't too sweet and I've always like red tapioca. Nice and crunchy bits. The pandan jelly adds a nice texture to it. Quite like the coconut milk as it helps to balance out the sweetness. It's a good alternative to just plain old bubble tea. I'll definitely swing by again. read more

Got an oolong bubble tea. Delicious and good sweetness level, although too much ice and boba. The boba was also a little tough; not as soft as I like it. The oolong also tasted a bit coffee-like. I'm happy to see that Bambu has been making its way over to the Midwest! It's one of my favorite dessert spots in southern California, and I love that I can get it in Michigan (Madison Heights) or Chicago now. I visited twice in two days this week. I got the Bambu Favorite (#10) the first time and the Awesome Trio (#3) the next. I usually get the Bambu Special (#1), but I didn't want to spend over $6 on dessert. I think the prices here are higher than they are in California and Michigan. I absolutely loved the Bambu Favorite! It had all of my favorite toppings. Pandan jelly and grass jelly are the best! The Awesome Trio wasn't bad either, but I think it was just a poor choice for me because there was too much bean for my taste. It's a pretty heavy dessert when you're full from dinner already. The two things I'd change are the coconut milk to toppings ratio and the prices. I'd prefer more coconut milk and less toppings, and I think the prices could be at least $1 cheaper. I'd get this dessert more often if it didn't cost me about $6 each time! Otherwise, this is a perfect end to an Asian meal in the Argyle area. read more

The only thing I've had from here is the salted caramel coffee, and to be honest it's one of the best things I've ever drank. Problem comes with the size. It's like 10 ounces max, and it's so easy to drink I'm usually done with it by the time I get to my bike. Place has lots of options and combinations, just wish they were more generous. read more

I have been going to here since they opened! Normally, its cashiers are very kind. However, I visited this weekend and ordered a plain tea with tapioca. I specified no milk in it, as I'm allergic. I order the same thing every time i come. In fact, the same cashier had taken my same order just the day before. But this time, my tea came out and clearly had milk in it. It was beige colored when it is normally a light green. I told the cashier that my drink was supposed to have no milk, and he lied to my face, insisting that this was just the color of the tea. I said that it wasn't, and so he took it into the back for a few moments and re-emerged, insisting there was no milk product in it at all. At that point, I just took it and left. I gave it to a friend who confirmed that, indeed, there was milk in the drink. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

The mango dazzle smoothie is very good. It has a fake mango taste that I cannot describe but I like it better than most places that use fresh fruit. I had this place a few times and everything taste great! I like the menu on the wall it breaks down what is inside the order before you buy. Smoothies taste full of flavor, coffee taste like tradition cafe su da, the juices taste like it's been squeezed out of the fruit my favorite being the passion fruit juice. Only down side to this place is I did not like the coffee milk tea and I would advise to stay away, unless you like strong coffee taste.
