I cannot say enough positive about this restaraunt! This is truly family owned and operated with perfect portions of freshly made food. Each time I have visited I have noted that I need to come back soon. There are lots of clean tables and plenty of parking. Somebody is also usually popping in for take-away. Frankly, the only reason I can think of the place is not mobbed is that it is tucked away a bit from Plymouth Road.It is in a very small complex close to US23. If you are staying at a nearby hotel, visiting UM North Campus, or anywhere near the US23 Plymouth Riad exit, making a minor effort find this will reward you heavily, making you thankful you did not do yet another fast food restaurant or spend money at an inferior hotel restaurant. You can appreciate the Corona beer bottle piñatas and comfortable service and expect freshly prepared rapidly delivered food that I have found to be consistent over time. read more

The owner is a scammer. He doesn't itemize his receipt and charges automatic 20% gratuity, then hands you a bill with the tip section blank. Hes trying to get a double tip out of his customer without the bill showing you that 20% gratuity is already being charged. Also very annoying how they sit they and make tons of noise with the silverware right by customers trying to enjoy their food. read more

Big portions and very fresh ingredients. Ordered lunch for carry out with a bunch of coworkers and everyone seemed to love their food. I split the chicken chimichanga and chicken taco salad with a friend, and it was so filling. We could not finish the food. Their queso is also SO delish. The cheese pull on that queso though! read more

Living on the Texas/Louisiana border, I have eaten a lot of Mexican food. Bandito's salsa is some of the best I have eaten. We had the chicken quesadillas which were excellent. Service was fantastic. Restaurant was very clean. Highly recommend!!! read more

Chimichangas had a $5.00 up charge for ground beef even though the chimichanga was filled mostly with rice and beans . Couldnt find the beef in it. Over priced compared to other mexican restaurants. read more

Grew up in Southern California and I have to say this is one of the best fresh Mexican food I've ever had.

Came into Ann Arbor for the USC vs Michigan football game. We're from SoCal, so we're used to good Mexican food. Went to Bandito's because it was close to our hotel. I'm always a bit worried about Mexican food in the in Midwest, will it be bland, etc. The food was outstanding, so good in fact, we went a 2nd time in three nights. The service was very good as well. If you're in Ann Arbor and are wanting a good Mexican meal. I would highly recommend Bandito's, good food at good prices. read more

Stopped by for lunch with a coworker. The interior was dark, large, garishly decorated. We seated ourselves. The lunch specials were a little confusing, but I managed to order myself a shredded beef chimichanga. It was large, freshly deep fried. The ingredients tasted of moderate quality. I ate it all and was very full. With a soda, ran me about $15 prior to tax and tip. A decent lunch but I don't think I would choose it again if my own volition. read more

Avoid at all costs, glorified taco bell at best. Sorry TB. Any positive food reviews have to be paid, friends, relatives or employees. No disrespect to those who have mentioned otherwise, but this is not good. From Chicago, understand what good to great Latin food is and recognize not all places are authentic. Food was bland. Not Mexican or southwest at all. Manager/owner was very hasty in answering questions and waiting to take my order. The environment is cool and the iced tea was great. One of the few Mexican restaurants around that offers a vegetarian chimichanga. Thick breading and deep fried goodness. They have blocked off every other booth for COVID-19 but the only options for groups larger than 4 are some tables in the center of the small restaurant. The food is not good. I went for lunch and got a chicken taco and a chicken tostada. Both dishes were very poorly seasoned. The chicken was flavorless and unseasoned. A good to-go Mexican restaurant is a must in every person's restaurant Rolodex. After passing Bandito's recently and feeling like I needed a place for my chips and sass fix, I decided a trip there for lunch was just what I needed recently. After parking (in a lot!) I walked in and seated myself. It was lunchtime, and I had beat the crowd, so I got my pick of the seats there. I was quickly greeted by a server, and placed my order for a Diet Coke. He brought it back shortly, along with the chips and salsa. Bonus points for leaving my plastic straw wrapped so that I could choose to forego it. My taco salad quickly arrived, and it was quite tasty. The guacamole in particular was fresh and hot the spot. I was a little bummed to find that it had rice in the bottom instead of lettuce -- I'll have to remember next time to say "no rice" with that. Once I had finished, I walked up to pay. It ended up being more than I usually pay for a taco salad lunch, which I wasn't anticipating. Still, the food was good and the location was convenient, so it'll be worth swinging by again when I need a fix of Mexican food! read more

Don't recommend. Food was unimpressive. Very little meat in either the chimichunga or burrito 2 of us ordered. A pale yellow orange sauce on the wet burrito is unlike anything encountered in any state of Mexico, mid America or around the mitten either. Hoya beans had little flavor, salsa was very mild. Guacamole tasted commercially prepared- I've has better from Aldi's or Wal-Mart. One owner trying to do it all in a big place, decorated w/ tons of iconic, colorful froo-froo. The nachos Bandidos were without any competition the best nachos I've had in the last decade. Not a joke, if you like loaded up nachos those are the best I've had forever. Chimichanga was very nicely fried, not greasy, well stuffed with my choice of ingredients. My son loved his tacos. Is salsa. The place was very nicely decorated for a fun Mexican atmosphere, They were playing festive Mexican music... not too loud so still easy to talk. The place was very clean and bright. Our server (Sing) was a very nice guy. We Live 5 hours away, so difficult to get here... but will absolutely stop here every time we go on vacation to michigan. Abusive owner. Leaves rude comments on low reviewers with legit reviews on Google. You can go here if you want, but you basicslly get microwaved Mexican style food, owner is apparently not even mexican. Guac, queso, and tortilla chips are pretty boring/food servixd delivery grade, the entrees even look like slop on a plate, prison style. The beer is served in mugs stored in a freezerz which is a gimmick, the mugs are also pretty sterorypical for other Mexican style places, the downside however, is they make the head frozen. Ann Arbor has much better places, don't waste your money here. read more

Since my best friend brought me here this past summer, this has been my favorite spot. The staff are supper friendly and accommodating, I always feel comfortable. The food was just not good. It wasn't inedible. It was just not what I expected from a restaurant with 4.5 stars on Google. I went to lunch with 3 other colleagues and we all agreed the food was bad. The food is what I'd expect in a high school cafeteria. We had margaritas too. They were the weakest margs I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The last thing that killed this review is the staff was rude. Incredibly rude. The man waiting on us behaved like it was an inconvenience. It was like we walked into his private home and demanded he cook us lunch. As if this wasn't a restaurant at all. The place wasn't busy and yet it felt like the waiter wanted to get us to leave as fast a possible. Food 1/5, friendliness 1/5, but the place was clean. We went to this restaurant while visiting family. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food. The waiter was very unfriendly with us as well. Where has customer service gone? I'm not sure if he was the owner, but I drove all the way from Tennessee, and my other son from Colorado and our family chose your restaurant and were treated poorly, and the worst part was it wasn't even busy.
