I was kind of hungry after a day of hitting the museum and driving, and needed something to eat before I checked in to my bed and breakfast retreat. I ended up getting the Huervos Rancheros since I usually love that dish. *sigh* The Hueveros Rancheros was not good. They drowned it in sauce that wasn't even spicy, for starters. The rice and beans were wonderful, but they put so much sauce on it, it ran into everything. Personally, I prefer them to make it like a skillet where everything's piled on top of each other. Not here. Dish seemed sad and very underwhelming. Was it bad Mexican food? No. I probably got the wrong dish and should've gotten tacos instead, but nnooo, I had to risk it and go out on a limb here. I would probably return, but do the tacos next time. They do serve Birra tacos which I am deeply in love with. Maybe some other time, but most likely won't return. read more

Oh wow! (Taibangle!) I went with my twins and they were so gracious to us. We felt welcome and there was a big portion size even for the kiddo meals. Everything tasted so delicious (hao che!!) Tried this place as the location was convenient. I noted the have one of my fav Tex-mex plates on the menu so I ordered it (pollo con chorizo). Usually this plate is full of flavor but not so much here. The rice and the refried beans could use more salt and seasonings. The chicken had good flavors probably because of the chorizo. I'm allergic to peanuts, I asked if my food would have peanuts. The waitress went to go check with the chef and then told me there were no peanuts. 2 minutes later after I had a few bites she came back out and corrected herself and told us there were peanuts in the enchiladas I had ordered. As a result, both the rice and the chicken were very dry had to put seasonings on my food to have some taste on it. Never had a drier tasteless burrito in my life. Have tried this location twice, there will not be a third visit. Burrito was extremely dried out, supposed to have sauce on it, nope. Overall, one could argue there are better Mexican Restaurants in the Ann Arbor area. However, how much time, traffic & trouble do you want go through for the horribly scarce parking available that AA is famous for? Here you'll find a really good tacos, enchiladas, carnitas, ice cold Mexican drafts beers & tasty margaritas. Overall, Los Amigos has a good Jalisco cuisined menu (identical to their sister restaurant Don Juan's on Stadium). We'll stop in here occasionally when in the Briarcliff area and find consistent fare, very friendly service and easy, convenient parking. Great chips and the salsa is spot on. Biggest flaw from I've heard others point out is that they could spruce the exterior up a bit. A rustic 'hole-in-the-wall's facade is usually a big plus out in Arizona or Texas and a sure sign of a gem, but here the exterior look scares off the Ann Arbor highbrows. read more

I've been here a few times now, because of visiting the area for work conferences. The restaurant atmosphere in the evening is loud but welcoming, while a little quieter during the day. The service is great and very attentive. But, the food is what keeps me coming back, as it's delicious. I've enjoyed everything I've ever had here. Bacon wrapped jalapeños were very good. The dipping sauce with them was sweet, but complimented them perfectly. Yum!

Los amigos is Awesome!! Sure sure, it's casual dining but it's good and reasonably priced and hospitality runs very high. And you can see they've gone through some trouble to make the experience sort of immersive with the decorations, which is nice. Super friendly doting hospitality. On the foods, I particularly liked the picante salsa, but you'll have to ask for it if you like the spicier salsas. I especially liked the tamales too but I almost always do. And they come with this rustic poblano or mole salsa that's wonderful. Is it Mexican Street food or from some abuela sold on the side of the road or at a flea market, no. My friend, who is an Ypsilanti native, was raving how good the food was so I had to try it. I almost passed it on Washtenaw but it's an easy find. The chips were homemade, warm, and very delicious. The guacamole was also good. Our food came out very quickly too. I got a combo with 3 tacos (2 Shrimp, 1 tilapia) with rice and beans. My friends got veggie chimichangas. We tore the food up! So i guess i don't understand why this place isn't five stars!?! Absolutely amazing service and the food was great(these pics were half eaten I'm having a hard time remembering I'm not starving and to stop and take a pic lol). To be honest this is probably the only restaurant i have been to through the pandemic to now that seems to be fully staffed and it shows! My water was never empty and anyone that passed checked to make sure we were good! We will definitely be back! Came here for Lunch today arrived at 12:11, was seated promptly. The inside looks pretty good and clean, they had a decent number of people inside, but not overcrowded or people waiting to be seated. Was looking forward to trying the ceviche and Molcajete, unfortunately that never happened because no one ever came to our table. We were seated not far from other customers, we waited for 10 minutes, my wife gave me her order assuming someone would come by before she finished using the restroom, but to our surprise, by the time she came back no one came by our table, no water no nothing just menu's. At 12:31, I told my wife, I would start an online order at Qdoba and if no one came by the time, I finished putting in my credit card and paying, we would leave and by 12:37 our order was complete for Qdoba for a 12:52 pick up, so we left. We joked with each other when we picked up our Qdoba that we would still be waiting for someone to take our order if we waited. I absolutely loved this spot. I've driven by it so many times on my way to the mall or on my way to other places, but I've never actually stopped in. This time we stopped in after getting our nails done because we were hungry throughout the entire time. Man did this place satisfy! First off the interior decorations are fantastic. I love how authentic it looked. Then we were overloaded by so many choices we had on the menu. I absolutely love, and I applaud the owner for this, how they had such a large vegetarian menu. They were so considerate, broke everything down, and still made vegetarian options seem fantastic. Everything came out incredibly fast, and everything tasted amazing.
