According to Urban Dictionary, "if a song is extremely tight or just unbelievably awesome. It is a banger." I think the same applies to sausages. My friend, who hates sausages, even left loving this place -- job well done. The place is relatively small, but luckily it wasn't too busy on the Friday night when we visited. As we were looking over the extensive menu, the guy at the bar picked up on the fact that this was our first time there. He recommended about 5 of the sausages on the board, plus the bacon and Gorgonzola fries, but he advised that we add the chimichurri sauce. We took his recommendation and ordered the Alaskan Reindeer and the Wild Boar and Garlic sausages, and the fries. I wish I would have caught up with him before he left, because he changed my life with his recommendations. The bacon and Gorgonzola fries with added chimichurri sauce were the best french fries I've ever had in my entire life. Caution: don't order a large if you don't have at least 4 people with you. I tried ordering the large, but the cashier suggested I go with the smaller size. With a sausage, fries, and a beer, my total was around $16. It was happy hour, and they have awesome happy hour pricing on their entire menu. I was definitely happy during the hour I was there. Besides the food, the staff was super friendly. The older gentlemen who was working (maybe the owner?) was super attentive, friendly, and just a joy to be around. The guy at the bar told me that his wife actually makes the chimichurri sauce? I can't confirm this. You could tell that he loved what he was doing and he wanted everyone else around him to do the same. If I worked at Bangers & Brews, I, too, would love what I was doing. Overall, 8/10 would recommend (1/10 isn't quite sure what to think of the word "banger," while the other 1/10 is probably vegetarian). read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but couldn't resist with this one. Finding a 5 star, best rated Yelp restaurant in the US, I just had to try it. It was mediocre at best. A 5 if your dining style is typically of the fast food quality. The girl taking orders seemed bothered to be working. The chili cheese fries were frozen fries, what seemed to be canned Hormel chili with maybe some extra ingredients to elevate it, and shredded cheddar that wasn't even melted because it was atop lukewarm fries. Everything else we tried (chimichurri appetizer and brats) were just ok. My mind is blown that this place has 5 stars. I'm guessing the owner enlisted a lot of friends to write reviews or something. Cue the bullying from the owner for a negative review, because that seems to be a thing. read more

The entire experience from start to finish delivered the goods! We are Gluten Free and Bangers & Brews took the time to help us decide what would work for us. Our menu selection included the Gorgonzola Bacon Fries and an Andouille Sausage done up in a Salad. First off those Fries! In a word Delicious nuff said. The Sausage Salad was fantastic too. Price wise Bangers & Brews was super reasonable, and delivered great value. We noticed a gentleman that turned out to be the owner, Marcelo taking time to greet and converse with each and every customer which added a nice touch. My best friend and I stopped in just for a post hike drink.... well, and sweet potato fries. We were happy to find a sweet happy hour with $3 pints so to celebrate that figured we might as well add some sweet potato fries on. Not only were those fries fantastic after trudging up and down mountains for 14 mikes but they kicked butt over a local brewery's we'd had the night before. Bangers and Mash lived up to the hype and the one sausage 2 toppings and 1 sauce on a bun was the best dog I've ever had. I had no idea how this could be the most highly rated restaurant in Bend, but now I get it! Great food, casual but super clean seating and fantastic service. Restaurants are in the consistency business and each of our four visits here have been superb. I'm not a fan of chimichurri in general but people seem to really like it. I've experimented with several sausages/brats and toppings and they've all been good. Their side salads are great and fresh. Prices are fair. I don't know if this is the best restaurant in Bend but it's definitely one of our favorites! read more
