We were at Deschutes Brewery and this came up as the best spot nearby and it might just be the best place in town! I almost don't have words for how good this place is! The beer list is short but offers something for everyone. We were debating whether or not to order the bacon gorgonzola fries and they were AMAZING! Get them with the onions! We both ordered the bangers and mash with bratwurst and I can't get over how simply perfect they were. The bratwurst was seasoned perfectly and the whipped potatoes with onion gravy was the perfect accompaniment. We can't wait to come back! read more

Visiting from Portland area and obviously you gotta go to a restaurant that has received such high praise when you're on vaycay. Anybody who knocks the service at this place was probably a jerk themselves. Staff was great to us and our kid and supremely helpful in navigating the menu and options. Additionally, they were attentive to our eating experience after we sat down and started eating, super appreciated. Caveat - our party all ordered variations of their bratwursts so if their claim to fame has to do with their exotic meats then we missed out. Toppings on our brats were fresh and flavorful, bread was light, but the brats themselves didn't carry a lot of flavor. I think the dish that really threw us off was the fries that came with Gorgonzola, bacon and garlic aioli. The garlic was waaay too heavy, dish was tough to enjoy as a result and definitely lingered as we ate our brats. I'd go back to venture out on the menu for sure but wouldn't ever order those specific fries again, and would likely take a different approach to the rest of the menu. Good food? Absolutely! Came here for dinner and it was delicious! They have delicious sausages with toppings and sides. Their staff are excellent. We liked the casual vibe and being able to eat out on the patio. We had a really rowdy group next to us which was annoying but you can't blame a restaurant for that. I would rate them a 5 star except that we did have a couple of complaints. Their owners are from Argentina so they make a big deal out of the chimichurri sauce. They even have a dish you can order which is just chimichurri and bread but the bread they use is wrong - it's a hot dog bun and no one from Argentina would use a bread like that. It would usually be a harder bread, like a baguette and the chimichurri with it is really, really oily. The chimichurri tasted great but we did have to strain out the oil particularly since the bread is so soft it fills up with oil. We wished the sausages were a little bigger (even if it meant going up a little in pricing). They had a choripan special, again wrong bread but otherwise good. The name doesn't match if they are trying to highlight their Argentine items? But if you aren't from Argentina and looking for traditional argentine choripan, etc. then you wouldn't probably have a complaint. :-) Check them out, they have some excellent sausages! read more

This is a family business that really will do whatever it takes to please their patrons. The various sausages are top notch, and I'm pretty picky. They get the right "snap" to the casing, and the different varieties are filled with yumminess. The toppings are creative and generously portioned. BEWARE: our order of Gorgonzola topped fries was plenty for three of us! And then there's the great beer to wash it all down. They even helped me out with frozen sausages to take home to Hawaii. Absolutely my favorite spot to stop and have a bite in town after a day out cross country skiing, rafting, mountain biking, fly fishing, etc. Not only is the food really really good, but it is family owned and you can absolutely tell the difference. After you order (select your banger, two topping and one sauce) enjoy a small sample of their home made chimichurri with fresh bread. If you are there after 3pm you will probably meet Ruben (owners Dad) who will ensure you have a wonderful experience. I was super impressed with the great variety of flavors, they had various types of sausages you can't find anywhere else in the state (I live in Portland). They even can put your sausage on a salad if you want to go carb free! The bun was nice and light but also stayed together really well. They have sweet potato and regular fries (the sweet potatoes were delicious), and a bomb selection of beers!! They also make a homemade fry sauce that will make you want to get more fries!
