I have been to this restaurant for more than 15 years. The food used to be very good, but it recently became kind of salty and it's somehow not the same as before. We like the Rad-na white flat noodles and Pad-thai noodles stir-fried with bean sprouts and carrots with peanuts. The inside decor is very nice, decent, and clean. It's very conveniently located near Von's supermarket, so it's a frequent place for Walnut residents as well as high-schoolers. People who work there are always nice, regardless of old or new faces. Tried the yellow curry lunch special and was really pleasantly surprised. The yellow curry was thick and creamy with a really good flavor and I liked that they put broccoli and cabbage in the curry in addition to the normal carrots and potatoes. This place has good food but just had a bad experience. My wife likes their Tom yum noodles, and I like the fact of being able to order online with PayPal. I ordered the Penang Curry with beef, and came home surprised. First there were no utensils, and second, no rice. I called them when I got home, and they said it doesn't come with rice. How does one eat Penang without rice? It's so sweet, and like 90% sauce and 10% meats and veggies. Ok fine, so I found a place that doesn't include rice with their entrees, but they could've at least told me it doesn't come with rice. I would have gladly paid for it, but instead, I went home, took two bites (the beef and veggies) and had to toss the rest of it because it was too sweet to eat by itself. So annoyed. I've been getting food here for almost 10 years and it seems that the flavor has dripped off recently. My last 2 orders have been disappointing. On our last visit the Pad See Ew was very bland, we had to return it. This last visit was only slightly better. We (a group of eight) got there at 8pm (they close at 9pm) and I was nervous because other reviews said they staff was rude. But to us they were amazing. Appetizers (chicken wings, calamari & fish cakes) were tasty and well presented. Next up were all the entrees... 8 total ranging from papaya salad to seafood fried rice to combo plates... Everything was delicious. Maybe not 5 star $30 a plate restaurant quality, but definitely 4 stars... tasty and presented well for the $10 to $15 a plate we paid. Service was great. Three times they filled out water. Once they dropped off extra napkins. They even gave us a warning that the kitchen was closing (in case we wanted anything else) but reassured us we could take our time finishing our meal. It was handled well. Drinks (ranging from iced tea to thai iced coffee) were strong; not watered down like I have experienced at other restaurants. When the bill came the waitress made a point of showing us that a 15% gratuity was already added in so there was no need to tip. Well we all agreed that 15% was not enough and added another 7%. We do have one complaint: we have driven past this gem for 10 years without seeing it (the restaurant is for off the street). Signage can be better. But now that we have found it I can assure you three will be other $200 meals in the future. read more

This restaurant is very easy to miss. It's within the Vons supermarket plaza and the restaurant's sign is hidden by the trees. The restaurant is small and quaint. The boyfriend ordered the lunch special green curry and I ordered the lunch special BBQ chicken with rice. Everything we ate here was SO DELICIOUS AND SUCCULENT. The bbq chicken was seriously grilled or whatever to perfection. The skin was so good. The meat was tender and juicy. The green curry had plentiful hints of coconut, just the way i like my curries. I recently moved out of Walnut and I can't stop thinking about how much I miss this place. I've had many Thai food in my life but this place has THE BEST PAD THAI AND PAD SEE EW I have ever had. 1st visit. Ordered take out over the phone. Told it would be 30 mins to pick up, ended up being 40+ mins, but it has been worth it. Generous portion of Orange Chicken has nice texture, needs more sauce but still better than any Chinese version I have had recently, the Pad Thai is pretty good but could use just a bit more flavor and spice. . It's my family's Saturday routine to have dinner out after the evening mass . I'm giving a one star review because the manager and server lied to us when we ordered two bbq chicken combo and 1 ala cart of bbq chicken they told us that they were all out of bbq chicken except for one serving of bbq chicken combo. So We had to change our orders to the stale bbq ribs and the 4 pieces of chicken in curry soup. They still have more bbq chicken than they told us because after we left, my girlfriend was curious so she called up for a pick up order of three bbq chicken the manager as usual picked up and took our order .we will not go back here. First of all pulling up to the restaurant I noticed a " B " in the window, but the food is so good here although I never would go inside after seeing this I still did. As I'm sitting there ready to order I see a roach crawling across the floor. Very sad for such a good place that has high reviews. I have come here often. And they never disappoint. I usually don't have specific plate because there's time I order the wrong meal but they never disappoint with the food. They give you a good portion of food too. (really yelp should have a 3.5 star rating..) it's located in the plaza with von's near the wells fargo bank. small, family-owned restaurant. just your typical no-frills place. i think they were lacking a waitress. we were sitting there waiting to order for a while. the guy kept answering calls for takeout, taking orders, serving.. we sat there debating whether we should leave cuz it seemed like it would take a long time...or not. well, we decided to give them a chance and stay. so the first thing i noticed as i sat down was that the menu was in one of those report covers that i used when i was in fourth grade. you know, the one that is clear on top and colored on bottom. haha.. prices were reasonable (that's actually why we stayed). entrees were $6-10. we got the chicken pad thai and the beef red curry. chicken pad thai -- we think the noodles made it really good!! it was chewy and cooked just right. beef red curry -- well, we didn't need the beef. didn't add anything to the dish. but the red curry was SPICY!!! i mean, it's not the americanized thai places that say spicy but you can't taste a thing.. it is delightfully spicy!! it comes with eggplant, bamboo shoots, basil, and green bell peppers when the bill came, i noticed something.. the pad thai and red curry actually didn't come with chicken nor beef. on the menu, it said add $2 for chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp. we were not charged the extra $4. since i'm more into food than ambiance...i decided to give it 4 stars instead of 3. the pad thai is really delicious. loved the level of spicyness of the red curry. i'd rather make this a takeout place if they don't hire a helping hand.. read more

I discovered this place on Yelp while looking for some lunch during my break from school. Bangkok BBQ is very small, probably with only 10-12 tables total. The server (I'm assuming she might be an owner/operator) seemed very business like, but I can appreciate that. I ordered the yellow curry with vegetables from the lunch menu and received a simple salad with a yellow dressing on it. I never know how to describe that dressing and I've had it many times at the various Asian restaurants I dine at. It's creamy and tastes a little like thousand island, but without the relish. Anyway. The curry was good, not too spicy for me, and was loaded with veggies. Next to the bowl of curry was a dome of rice that had been sauteed with something - just a hint of perhaps a chicken flavor. I ate the veggies I liked and all the rice and spent $6.80 before tip. Next time I intend to try the Pad See Ew. The table next to me had it and it looked delicious. Great place for lunch! read more

Good Thai food, not great but it's good to satisfy your Thai food cravings. They have good combo specials for lunch and dinner. I like their beef pad sew and satay chicken with peanut sauce. I usually phone in my order and pick it up within 10 minutes. I've only dined in here once, but it's pretty small and not too cozy. The service is friendly though. I also didn't like that they are cash only. I rarely carry cash and depend on my debit card to pay for things, so it's pretty inconvenient. Other than that, this place is an okay spot. read more

When I told her it's not at all sour where it's actually really sweet and not spicy at all...she looked at me like "what are you trying to say?", like she didn't understand English...and she replied, "you want more sour?" My son ordered their Pad Thai lunch special...the Pad Thai itself is in a VERY small portion and the other half of plate was fried rice...I thought since Pad Thai is noodle already, you really wouldn't serve it with rice. The Pad Thai, obviously...also very sweet. Knowing Pad Thai is supposed to be on the sweet side, but the sweetness of the dish is quite overwhelming...and it was quite soggy...very disappointed. I came here this afternoon to buy some lunch for the first time and all of my co-workers have told me not to come here because their food is bland. Well, I ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken from their list of lunch specials and I don't find anything bland about the chicken. I found the flavor to be subtle but not bland. The wing, leg, and thigh were juicy on the inside and the skin seems to have just the right elasticity and texture--not mushy, not tough but just right. The breast was a bit dry but aside from that, it tasted fine. It also came with an egg fried rice in the shape of a small bowl and a small mixed salad with dressing. The egg fried rice, though its ingredients are nothing special, tasted particularly good to me but your mileage may vary. The salad isn't anything special: just diced lettuce, carrots, and eggplant with a yellow dressing. I think the main ingredient in the dressing is "egg" that really brings out the flavor in the dressing. It's indescribable except that egg flavor and I LOVE EGGS. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same dressing to brush over their wontons and to use it as the "glue" to close up the wonton before dunking them in soup. Based on this one experience, I would say that the food here is more "bland" relative to other Thai restaurants that I've eaten at. Don't get me wrong though. It's still good but if you're expecting the food to be bold in taste and flavor, you're better off going to the Thai BBQ & Seafood restaurant right by Amar and Azusa. Now, I am by no means an expert in Thai food but usually the blander something tastes, the more "authentic" it is because bold flavors and meat smothered and covered in sauce tends to be an American thing. I'm not saying that Thai people can't cook food with bold flavors but the sauces or spices aren't supposed to overwhelm the meat or the rice. It's supposed to supplement it and bring out the taste and natural flavors of the chicken and the rice. In any case, I thought the BBQ chicken and egg fried rice were flavorful enough on their own. My lunch did come with a small cup of sweet and sour sauce placed inside the box, which I didn't use but it was a nice gesture. I'll definitely be coming back here for my afternoon lunch from now on. It's fairly cheap $6.25 + tax for the lunch special. They do tack on an additional $1.00 fee if you use your credit card for any purchases under $10 so please take note of that. Other than that, if you work near Lemon and Valley Blvd and don't want to drive too far for a quick lunch, come here. Otherwise, for those looking for bolder tasting Thai food, go to the one near Amar and Azusa. read more
