    Pad Thai

Thai foods to go only, and CASH only. This place has been around for long long time and we ordered here for family gardening events. The foods are good, tasty and yummy. The menu is limited but just basic popular Thai dishes (noodles, rices, salads, and desserts). Prices are good and service is nice. The place is small but clean abs smell off all the cook goods when entered. Always enjoy the foods and service here. Ordered in advance would be highly recommended so easy and quick or you will have to wait for 7-10mins depending on how busy they are.

the portions were bigger than i expected and great for the price. service was nice and easy, but they only accept cash

Papaya salad with crab (it's salted fermented crab)

This is a to go only spot. My go to place for papaya salad. The portions are very generous with all orders and they have remained fairly priced over the years. Service is sometimes questionable but nevertheless straight forward. I believe they are cash only!!

    Medium size -shrimp fried rice

Ordered a Shrimps Fried rice party tray (medium size) on 12/7/24 for pick up at 10:30AM. I came there at 10:20AM and the front lady told me to wait and then say something in Thai to the male chef to start cooking. Then after she handed me the tray neatly pack. The fried rice was just ok, nothing to rave about to be it needs more basil leaves. They only put like 7 leaves on top of the trays. The rice is lack of flavor... heard from most of my guests. The SHRIMPS however were over cooked and NO FLAVOR and mushy. Per previous Yelp review the shrimps are more plumb and juicy. The one we ordered toda tastes like boiled shrimps just mix in with the rice. They charge extra $5 for adding shrimps when ordering for party tray. I'm not sure I'll be back to try any other dish because I feel like the quality of the food is not there.

First thing first! When you're here, it's just simply good and AFFORDABLE Thai food that has been here forever that many of us grew up with. Despite moans and groans of inflation, they managed to keep their menu reasonably priced. Green curry is divine and a must-have for the weekend. Of course, you can't go wrong with any of their papaya salad that is wickedly spicy. Don't forget to grab their noodles -- but pad kee mow is still my all time fave! For their good food, cheap price, I'll put up with any bad customer service that many yelpers have lament about endlessly lol.

    * CASH ONLY * went here with my wonderful, gorgeous, drop dead, wow, model, amazing, 10/10, girlfriend aka my future wife. i was reading the previous reviews about the kid's lack of customer service and rudeness in the front desk. I'd like to add that there's clearly a language barrier. A language barrier can make it challenging to understand someone, and this difficulty can sometimes be mistaken for rudeness. we should strive to be more empathetic and more understanding. like bro, come on.. 7/10 on the pad thai! it comes out really hot and quick!! the price for the food here! personally, me and my gf had better pad thai... it could have more flavor but FOR THE PRICE??? pretty good and the portions are good as well. I believe it was $7-8 for 1 pad thai. SUPER DUPER AFFORDABLE. This place is perfect if you you are looking to grab something quick, cheap, and to-go. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. Every dish you purchase, you can add on a $1 THAI TEA or THAI TEA COFFEE. The thai tea is really really sweet. No seating inside. It's near Kung Fu Tea.

the pad kee mao is insane and they got a small 1 dollar Thai tea best pad kee mao in North America

Got their chowmein combo and spicy thai fried rice combo. Food her was very delicious! All the flavors were there and love how affordable the portions are. However, service could be better because I felt kind of pressured while choosing my order. The owner's son I believe could be a little more friendlier.

Stuffed coconut filling balls with shredded coconut on the out side. These're 8 for $3 the best in the OC.

Base on my review is about Thai desserts. This is my first time @ Bangkok Pai. The stuffed coconut balls are the best they're my favorite texture on the outside is soft the coconut filling on the inside is not very sweet just perfect for my liking. The Thai pandan flavor layer dessert is pretty good but I can't taste any pandan flavor at all. The lady owner is very nice the son is nice too he answered every questions I had without giving me attitude. I'm looking forward to see what other desserts they have to offer on my next visit. I'm a Thai dessert lover.

This Thai spot in Tustin, Manaao Thai Comfort Food, had been on my foodie list for a while ever…read moresince it opened in 2023. Not long after opening, it was featured by the LA Times / Daily Pilot, and then quickly blew up on TikTok and IG foodie circles across OC. Dinner starts at 4:30 PM, and we arrived around 4:10. Even then, people were already waiting in their cars. We walked around the plaza for a bit, but when we came back at 4:28, a line had already formed outside. They use a Yelp waitlist kiosk at the entrance, and we were already the third party in line. The restaurant has around 25+ tables, and within minutes of opening, the place filled up fast. By the time our first dish arrived, the line outside was packed. Definitely glad we came early, this place gets busy FAST. We ordered: 1. Khao Soi Noodle $28 One of the LA Times' "Best Dishes of 2023," and honestly the standout of the night. The rich yellow curry broth with coconut milk had a nice spicy kick without being overly salty. It came with crispy noodles on top, softer noodles underneath, plus crispy soft-shell crab that added great texture. The lime and diced onions on the side helped brighten everything up too. Very flavorful and worth trying, although $28 still feels a little pricey. 2. Gaeng Som (Thai Sour Curry Fish Soup) $28 A mildly sour and spicy curry fish soup with crispy fish, green papaya, daikon, carrots, and long beans. The flavor actually reminded me a bit of Korean spicy fish stew, but with stronger sourness and herbal notes. Great with rice, though again, the price feels high for the portion. 3. Thai Hainan Chicken Rice $18 This was probably the weakest dish we ordered. The chicken was very soft but lacked flavor, and the soup was pretty bland. Honestly, I prefer the Vietnamese-style chicken rice in Little Saigon more. The rice itself paired nicely with the stronger curry dishes though. 4. Thai Milk Tea $6 Less sweet than most Thai restaurants, which I really appreciated. Much more balanced and not overly sugary. Overall, Manaao feels more authentic and regional compared to many Americanized Thai restaurants in OC. The menu goes beyond the usual Pad Thai staples, and the flavors definitely have more depth. That said, prices are on the higher side, and portions aren't huge. Three dishes can easily run over $70. Still, I can see why this place became so popular. The owner apparently used to work as a web developer before starting to cook hometown Thai dishes during the pandemic, eventually opening Manaao with his wife to focus on authentic Thai comfort food. They're already expanding to Irvine Spectrum near Din Tai Fung. Out of everything we tried, the Khao Soi was definitely the must-order dish for me. Would I wait an hour for it though? Personally... probably not! Manaao Thai Comfort Food 13842 Newport Ave Unit F, Tustin, CA 92780

It is not greatly seasoned, it may taste kind of plain to some. I noticed some of the seafood was not cooked fully. I do mot recommend this. Pad Thai:This is a must try! The noodle is chewy and it is not the typical noodle used for Pad Thai. The dish is flavorful and the bean sprouts adds a great crunch. If you love peanuts, then there are some on side. Definitely recommend this. Papaya Salad: Absolutely love it. The salad is well flavored and marinated. Definitely recommend this if you're new to Thai food. I saw people ordering large party tray for papaya salad. Tom Yum Soup with seafood: Great soup option especially in the winter. The portion is seafood is great. The taste of sour and spicy balanced well together. The restaurant seems to be under-staffed. We waited for a while to be seated because the only person working in the front was helping in the back. And our Pad Thai was left out when we did make the order. Luckily the front staff was friendly and the food really made it up. This restaurant happens to be located in the same plaza as OC & Lau, so you might have to park a bit further. I definitely believe this restaurant should be more recognized. It got a great selection and the food tastes great. Of course, they should improve their staffing issues.

I came here with three friends, and even though they technically open at 11:30 AM, we showed up around 12 PM, so they were a bit late in getting things going. We ordered the wet pad Thai, the crying tiger steak, and the Thai sausage. The pad Thai was flavorful and had just the right amount of sauce, wet, but not soggy. The crying tiger steak was cooked well despite being on the thinner side, surprisingly tender, soft, and flavorful. The Thai sausage was also great, not totally sure what meat was inside, but it was delicious enough to not care. It seemed like it was pan-fried, because the outside had a crispy, bubbly texture, while the inside stayed piping hot. The interior is simple and nothing out of the ordinary, similar to most Thai spots. It's located in a strip mall, so while there's a dedicated parking lot, it's a shared space with other restaurants, which means it can fill up depending on when you go, but overall, not too bad.

The food from the photos looked amazing so we thought this would be a good place to try. We entered and it is quite small. Expect to have a bit of a wait during rush hour. Lucky for us it was just us two, and it was towards the end of lunch. The inside looked super cute and the aesthetic reminded me of the Philippines. They had these cool lanterns, and metal soda signs in Thai. Plus umbrellas below the ceiling. The menu looked really cool, like it was from a newspaper that is colored. The plates had roosters on it. I loved the ambiance for sure. We saw a couple order a few things I asked what they had ordered. One was grilled pork neck and they suggested the Tom Yum Mama Seafood soup and for dessert mango and sticky rice. I also got green thai tea for drink. We got it all mild because my spice tolerant isn't as good as it use to me, and my mom usually tolerates mild as well in regards to spice. The presentation of the food is great. The Soup was so delicious! I'll definitely order again. It had noodles, like thin ramen. The seafood was delicious with the crunchy pork. It blended so well. I love that the soup was sour and spicy. The pork neck was a bit too spicy, and so I believe they might have not prepared it mild. It was a bit difficult to eat because of it, but still really good. The mango and sticky rice is delicious as well. Perfectly made. I will definitely come back here.
