Pad Thai
Christopher T.

Thai foods to go only, and CASH only. This place has been around for long long time and we ordered here for family gardening events. The foods are good, tasty and yummy. The menu is limited but just basic popular Thai dishes (noodles, rices, salads, and desserts). Prices are good and service is nice. The place is small but clean abs smell off all the cook goods when entered. Always enjoy the foods and service here. Ordered in advance would be highly recommended so easy and quick or you will have to wait for 7-10mins depending on how busy they are.

the portions were bigger than i expected and great for the price. service was nice and easy, but they only accept cash

Papaya salad with crab (it's salted fermented crab)

This is a to go only spot. My go to place for papaya salad. The portions are very generous with all orders and they have remained fairly priced over the years. Service is sometimes questionable but nevertheless straight forward. I believe they are cash only!!

Revised menu 2022.

First thing first! When you're here, it's just simply good and AFFORDABLE Thai food that has been here forever that many of us grew up with. Despite moans and groans of inflation, they managed to keep their menu reasonably priced. Green curry is divine and a must-have for the weekend. Of course, you can't go wrong with any of their papaya salad that is wickedly spicy. Don't forget to grab their noodles -- but pad kee mow is still my all time fave! For their good food, cheap price, I'll put up with any bad customer service that many yelpers have lament about endlessly lol.

Medium size -shrimp fried rice

Ordered a Shrimps Fried rice party tray (medium size) on 12/7/24 for pick up at 10:30AM. I came there at 10:20AM and the front lady told me to wait and then say something in Thai to the male chef to start cooking. Then after she handed me the tray neatly pack. The fried rice was just ok, nothing to rave about to be it needs more basil leaves. They only put like 7 leaves on top of the trays. The rice is lack of flavor... heard from most of my guests. The SHRIMPS however were over cooked and NO FLAVOR and mushy. Per previous Yelp review the shrimps are more plumb and juicy. The one we ordered toda tastes like boiled shrimps just mix in with the rice. They charge extra $5 for adding shrimps when ordering for party tray. I'm not sure I'll be back to try any other dish because I feel like the quality of the food is not there.

* CASH ONLY * went here with my wonderful, gorgeous, drop dead, wow, model, amazing, 10/10, girlfriend aka my future wife. i was reading the previous reviews about the kid's lack of customer service and rudeness in the front desk. I'd like to add that there's clearly a language barrier. A language barrier can make it challenging to understand someone, and this difficulty can sometimes be mistaken for rudeness. we should strive to be more empathetic and more understanding. like bro, come on.. 7/10 on the pad thai! it comes out really hot and quick!! the price for the food here! personally, me and my gf had better pad thai... it could have more flavor but FOR THE PRICE??? pretty good and the portions are good as well. I believe it was $7-8 for 1 pad thai. SUPER DUPER AFFORDABLE. This place is perfect if you you are looking to grab something quick, cheap, and to-go. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. Every dish you purchase, you can add on a $1 THAI TEA or THAI TEA COFFEE. The thai tea is really really sweet. No seating inside. It's near Kung Fu Tea.

Got their chowmein combo and spicy thai fried rice combo. Food her was very delicious! All the flavors were there and love how affordable the portions are. However, service could be better because I felt kind of pressured while choosing my order. The owner's son I believe could be a little more friendlier.

the pad kee mao is insane and they got a small 1 dollar Thai tea best pad kee mao in North America

Stuffed coconut filling balls with shredded coconut on the out side. These're 8 for $3 the best in the OC.
Summer A.

Base on my review is about Thai desserts. This is my first time @ Bangkok Pai. The stuffed coconut balls are the best they're my favorite texture on the outside is soft the coconut filling on the inside is not very sweet just perfect for my liking. The Thai pandan flavor layer dessert is pretty good but I can't taste any pandan flavor at all. The lady owner is very nice the son is nice too he answered every questions I had without giving me attitude. I'm looking forward to see what other desserts they have to offer on my next visit. I'm a Thai dessert lover.

Good prices, food is better than lots of Thai places. Services could be better, counter person was very short in term of taking orders.

We shared a variety of dishes: -Papaya Salad: A Lao style papaya salad. Super flavorful, crisp, and fresh. Honestly great just eating it on its own. I also liked the raw crab in it which was nice to suck on. -Lao Sausage: Meaty and good. I liked how the flavor wasn't too strong and offputting. The sauce it came with was good, but a bit hard to dip in. This paired well with the sticky rice. -Crispy Fried Rice (Nam Kao Tod): Super unique dish! I liked folding the crispy rice with sour pork bits into the lettuce wraps which was fresh, crispy, and texture heaven. While the food was solid, I did think the prices were on the higher side for the area. It might be because of the ingredients if I had to take a guess. The service here was pretty good. They have ample parking spots in front of the restaurant in the lot.

My total came to $41.33, and I paid with $100.35 in cash. I was given $59.00 back in change, so I politely mentioned that I was still owed $0.02. I even said, "It's okay, you can keep it." What bothered me wasn't the two cents--it was the owner's response. He told me that "the government said we're not allowed to use pennies anymore." That simply isn't true. Pennies are still legal U.S. currency, and I had just received pennies as change at a grocery store earlier that day. If a business chooses not to keep pennies on hand or has a rounding policy, that's one thing, but telling customers the government no longer allows the use of pennies is misleading. This was never about two cents. It was about honesty and customer service. As a business owner, if you owe a customer change, you should either provide it or explain your store's policy truthfully--not make a statement that isn't accurate. Unfortunately, that interaction left a poor impression and took away from what could have been an otherwise pleasant experience.

We notice she had the same mini trader joe bag and started talking to her about the next release drop coming soon. The interior is clean and roomy. It wasn't that busy that night, so we got seated quickly. We ordered the Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and lastly the Tom Yum soup. We got spicy for all of them. If you don't, the flavor profile will not be hitting. Traditionally you gotta eat it spicy! The papaya salad was good and the Pad Thai noodles portion was pretty small for family style. My favorite dish was the Tom Yum for sure. It tastes very authentic and I love how they put a lot of mushroom in the soup. The spicy and savoriness was well balanced. If it's a little salty, eat it with rice. Makes a good combo! At the very end, we were very full and we had to Togo the soup. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes like the Crying Tiger and chicken curry.

Every time I…read moredrove by on my way home, I saw people waiting outside, especially on weekends, so I knew I had to give it a try. We ordered the Crying Tiger, fried chicken wings with curry dip and roti, and papaya salad, and every dish was outstanding. The Crying Tiger was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful curry dip and warm, flaky roti. The papaya salad was fresh, crunchy, and had just the right balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and savory flavors. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and I can absolutely see why this place is always busy. Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend! I ordered for pick up, fast and convenient.

I went with a group and naturally everything ordered was eaten family style. What we ordered: * Som tum (Thai style): my favorite type is Lao style, but I read the description and it wasn't it. So we went with Thai style and it was good! Not overly sweet, still savory, but light and refreshing. We ordered medium spicy level, but I feel like it wasn't quite "medium spicy". That was fine though because one of my friend doesn't handle spice well. * Roti with yellow curry: curry was standard, roti was flaky, warm, and buttery. * Tom Kha (with seafood): savory, tangy, creamy- but not milky. Highly recommend. * Fried chicken (with sticky rice): came out hot and crispy. Not typical thick American batter-- thin skin and friend onion was a nice touch. Used the sticky rice to eat with papaya salad instead. Picky eater approved. (Son of a friend) * Crab meat fried rice: real crab meat, fried egg on top, fried rice was nicely done. I recommend. ....believe it or not, restaurants do mess up fried rice! ;( * Pad Thai (I did not try this since it looked too saucey and I don't prefer my pad Thai to be too wet. My friend said it was okay.) * Thai tea: perfect ratio of milk to tea. It was solid! Service was nice and they were patient while we tried to figure out what we wanted for a 6 person group + toddler. They also provided a high chair at the table without us asking. Wait time was about 45 mins. Inside is pretty small and they don't have large tables, so they had to wait for a couple tables to clear.
