Chicken and shrimp pad Thai + mild yen ta foh
    Sally T.

Every family has their favorite, go-to Thai restaurant. Jumpa Thai is ours for many reasons, starting with their chicken and shrimp pad Thai and going all the way to their five star service. My mom is obsessed with their yen ta foh and I can see why, since this dish has remained consistently delicious over the years. Other stand-outs include their beef salad, papaya salad, chicken satay, pad see ew, green curry, and tom kha, to name a few dishes that my family often orders. They also recently upgraded their furniture and aesthetics to a more modern feel. While not necessary, it has certainly elevated the dining experience for returning customers. I'm very grateful to have shared many family-style meals here throughout my childhood until now!

This picture speaks for itself. This dumpster is right in front of the store. You'll see it walking in and out of the restaurant and you can't miss it. There's literally parking space right next to it with all the trash exposed. This is 3rd world country nasty.

Great place, we loved it!! The crispy basil salmon was an 8/10 very interesting this was the the only item we could skip next time. The Chinese brocoli and crispy pork was amazing, great combination of flavors and textures 10/10 Pad thai was our 2nd favorite we got a medium heat chicken and it was perfectly balanced. 10/10 Our favorite was the red curry, Woohoo was this a flavor bomb, we ate every bite. 10/10 About to have mango and sticky rice for desert but wow what a great experience. The service was stellar, the restaurant is clean and beautiful. We will be back! Thank you for the meal

Been on a pad thai crave and Jumpa thai definitely fulfilled my craving. Ive been here 2 weeks in a row for lunch, 1st time I got seafood pad thai and the 2nd time i've gotten shrimp pad thai. The pad thai here is saucy which I love, good amount of sweetness and tang, portion size pretty good also. I love that the spice rack is right on the table for you also. Overall solid pad thai, i do prefer the shrimp pad thai over the seafood pad thai.

The restaurant is very clean and well decorated. They recently upgraded dining tables and chairs which are much more comfortable. The staff are nice and fast with orders. The food is freshly made and delicious. We tried many dishes as shown. Our most favorites are papaya salad with shrimps, onchoy, and beef salad. But other dishes are also good. Call in advance if you have big party.

Love this place!! My office and I love the lunch special pad thai paired with the jasmine ice tea. The best jasmine I've tasted at a restaurant hands down. The staff is friendly and got our take out ready for pick up super quick! If dining in they'll have their side salad and soup of the day to go along with your lunch special. It gets packed at times but isn't too loud. Parking can get hard to find so be mindful. Overall their food never disappoints and is always a hit in my office!

My family and I have visited this place multiple times while growing up as I have so many memories here. I noticed the menu has Vietnamese translations to accommodate the large Vietnamese population in Garden Grove. Fish Cake (5/5): I always think this is the most underrated Thai appetizer. It's soft with the great hint of spice in it. Papaya Salad (5/5): Very refreshing with a packed umami flavor. The crunchiness squeezes out all the amazing flavor when you bite into it. Manila Clams w/basil leaf (4/5): I really liked how flavorful the black bean sauce was. It was coated with salt and pepper. The clams were not as plumped as I hoped though. Tom Yom Soup (5/5); Must get this with rice! I was perfectly sour and sweet. The mushroom was also very delicious Chicken Pad Thai (4/5): Very standard pad Thai, but still very yummy. It was comforting with the taste that reminds you of your childhood.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! I've driven past this spot 20 years of my life and decided to stop by on a whim with my family. When you first enter, the establishment is clean, spacious, and welcoming. We were instantly greeted and got seated. We ordered a few things; pad thai, pad see ew. pineapple fried rice, and the cream cheese wontons. The portions are very generous and tasted amazing! All the food was freshly made and they didn't skimp out on the protein in the entrees. I would highly recommend coming to this spot, it'll be your new favorite thai place.

Why do Thai restaurants think it's okay to talk about their customers in front of them in Thai and think it's okay? I mean, luckily most of their customers don't understand them because they all happily stayed and ordered their food but it upset me a lot. The place is huge, looks like it can easily host busy weekends without a wait, but is it worth it? Prices are about $12-20 per item, which is steep for the portion size. We tried to eat everything "family style" but we didn't think the portions were worth it. And we paid regular prices, not their lunch prices. I know this is a long standing neighborhood gem but it's definitely just okay to me. Sanamluang still has my heart and I'll gladly drive to Claremont for it from OC.

My family and I have been going to Jumpa Thai since they first opened. Since I was a kid, this has been our go-to restaurant for any special occasion. After trying other places, we believe they have the BEST Thai food! Staff is also great and kind :) In my opinion, the dishes are well-seasoned, never lacking or overwhelming. It's just right for us! I will say that what's been disappointing is that the portions have shrunk over the years with increased pricing :( BUT the flavor has been consistent!

Came here on a Sunday before they opened and waited for the rest of my party to arrive. Last time I had come here was in 2022. The restaurant is clean and servers are attentive. We were able to get separate checks. I ordered the combination pad thai which presentation wise looked great. There was pork, beef, shrimp and chicken. Not sure if there was any tofu. It was good, but I could only eat 1/3 as it was way too sweet for me. There was much too much sauce. I think half the amount of sauce would've been perfect

Ordered chicken pad see ew and mango sticky rice to go. Chicken pad see ew was amazing! But $13 for this mango sticky rice????? Crazy. The size is very underwhelming for this price.

I've been coming to Jumpa Thai for 5 years now and I gotta say, they keep up with their staple quality. It is already a famous spot for Thai food in Garden Grove area, mostly because of their flavors. What I like about their Curry is that it is not too liquidy and you can taste the curry flavor, not just the coconut milk. Pad Thai has very good portion, not too sweet, and I been having it for lunch for years, still want to order every other week. Very nice and awesome service. The servers are all attentive and friendly, make sure to check on you, which is a plus. Also recommend their: Boat noodle soup, Tom Kha and Tom Yum. One pros is they have lunch special deal that is only $11 or $12 if you order at the lunch time range. ( notes: lunch special portion is smaller than regular portion). Overall, my comfort and go-to Thai place in local OC areas.

We got the Lao style papaya salad, crispy pork fried rice (Nam Kao Tod), and beef salad (Nuam Num Tok), all medium spicy. The papaya salad was fishy, spicy, and had that crab flavor I was looking for. The crispy pork fried rice was so flavorful, especially with the peanuts, herbs, and chiles. The beef salad was probably my favorite, tender beef, red onions, fresh herbs, and a spicy, tangy dressing. So good and packed with flavor. Service was nice and it wasn't busy when we went. Their hours online didn't seem updated though, so we ended up getting there about an hour before closing. I do wish the interior had a little more decor and atmosphere, but the food itself was immaculate. Definitely coming back. 9/10

Show up right at evening opening to even have a chance at getting a table without waiting 1-2 hours. Struggle to find parking. Order food and it kind of takes forever. While waiting for our food, we almost always start to wonder if it's all worth it. And then every time, once the food arrives, that conversation gets dropped. We always order the Manaao Pork Jowl and Khao Soi with braised beef. We also typically order a noodle dish as well. As always, their Khao Soi is fantastic. The flavor is deep and the curry is rich. The beef is always cooked until it falls apart between your chopsticks. The one we were a bit unsure about was why they started to serve the pork jowl with no sauce on the side. We feel like when we first started ordering the dish, the sauce was lightly drizzled on top and served on the side in a small ramekin. Now, all of the sauce comes on top of the pork which seems to have made the dish a bit colder and less crispy. Still, the flavor is dialed, perfectly sweet and tangy. Their noodles are also always fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This visit we decided to try a new curry, and went with the Chu Chee Curry with Fried Catfish. This dish blew us away. We were immediately surprised by the generous portion of catfish, which seemed to be a full fried filet. At first, I felt like the batter may have been too thick for my liking. It seemed to be so thick and fried that it would taste crunchy rather than crispy if that makes sense. However, once coated in the curry sauce and enjoyed with the rice, the textures work together perfectly to maintain the crisp of the fry on the fish, which was cooked just right. The curry was light, which meant it didn't overpower the subtle flavor of the fish. We also ordered dessert for the first time off of the recommendation of a friend to try the rice balls in coconut milk with coconut ice cream. The flavor was amazing, and the texture of the rice balls (think mochi but more soft and tender rather than chewy) was very pleasant alongside the crunchy bits of fried mung bean. Our only gripe was that even by the time the dish reached our table, the ice cream was mostly melted. If anything, I feel like serving them separately would help maintain the temperatures, and enjoying them together in that way could create a more satisfying contrast. As always, Manaao is our favorite Thai spot in Orange County. I definitely recommend.
