I have been coming to Bangkok taste since they opened. Their food is always consistent and the quality of their meats are 5*.. I've pretty much tried EVERYTHING on the menu. My favorites are the crying tiger steak, the tom ka soup, pad thai, crab fried rice and cashew nut chicken. Honestly...!!?? It's ALLLLL good. The prices of quality meat has gone up as pretty much everything else and their prices have always remained about the same. I believe there are tons of ingredients in thai food and that's why we love it right? The FLAVORS..!! I went to Thailand a few years back thinking it was going to be different for some reason and it tastes pretty much exactly the same .!! I was pleasantly surprised that the thai restaurant I have been frequenting for many years is authentic as they come. They mango sticky rice( when in season) is epic.!! Their thai tea and thai coffee is soooo good, sometimes a lil sweet but I don't mind adding a lil water , it's like another drink .! They have young coconut still in the shell that's comes out refrigerated and refreshing. Came here for lunch and ordered the green curry with beef. Unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. When the dish arrived, the coconut milk hadn't been mixed into the curry, so I had to stir it myself. The curry base was also overly sweet and didn't have much depth of flavor. The beef seemed like stew beef and was quite chewy. Also something to be aware of: the restaurant charges $3 for a small portion of plain white rice, which felt excessive for what you get. The restaurant is located in a very quiet plaza, so I'm not sure what the owner's strategy is with charging extra for rice while serving food that doesn't really stand out. Khao man gai is almost always great (i think they use different cooks so sometimes it's too savory and not spicy enough) Khao Soi is really good here Yellow or green curry always solid. One of the best yellow curries i've had, and I've eaten a lot of em in my life! The quantity is good for 2 people. I forgot to take a photo of it but it was super yummy. It's honestly a hidden gem. It's in a little plaza with seating inside. Their service was super quick and they were super sweet. We had the papaya salad which was spicy for me but it was a spice that was enjoyable because it did not mask out the rest of the flavors. The mango sticky rice was yummy. Worst customer services. I placed a phone order. I asked the cashier to repeat the order a couple of times, due to me not being able to understand her accent. When I arrived, I noticed my order was incorrect. I had ordered the Pad See EW beef. It was made with shrimp. I kindly pointed out the order was input and made incorrectly. The cashier became very defensive and hostile. She pointed out she repeated the order twice. I did not want to bring up the fact that her accent was very hard to understand. There was no effort in trying to correct the order by the cashier or the man from the back who walked out to check on what is going on. The order was paid for and I took as is. Rude and condescending service. I didn't want to eat here after 2nd red flag but stayed for my friend.... Red flag #1: My friend ordered Pad See Ew and the waitress "Han" acted like she was hearing a foreign language. Not helpful. Then condescendingly repeats the order with emphasis on Pad See Ew like "this is how you pronounce it" attitude. Red flag #2: my friend ordered the meat on the side because she wanted to share with me since she knows I'm vegan. She let Han, the waitress, know about my dietary restrictions; however, instead of being understanding and accommodating--Han made it a big deal, got defensive & refused to serve us this way. Saying "I don't recommend it" and "we cannot do that because the meat needs to be stirred with the other ingredients for flavor". My friend ended up ordering tofu instead but I was appalled with how unwilling to accommodate us she was. Red flag #3: Then Han went complaining to the cook about our request after we had already ordered tofu and the cook yelled "Yeah I can't do that. I have to stir everything in the wok." I get it people with dietary restrictions can make someone's job a bit more complicated; however, at least think of a middle ground and not have a "my way or the highway" attitude. She didn't even consider it as an option or ask the cook if he could cook the meat separately. She decided for us and for him technically. Red flag #4: She refused to continue to serve us. Chris took over and became our server by bringing us our food and continuing Han's communication with us. She told him I was going to leave a review and he replied while raising his voice saying, "I don't care." It's sad to see employees who don't love their job or care about the business owner or customers. Red flag #5: it was 2:22pm when Chris announced last call for orders we said just the check and a to go box. My friend was singing a song that the restaurant was playing and shortly after the music stopped. Wow we couldn't even enjoy listening to music either. The vibe I got was "Don't get too comfortable. It's time to close and you need to leave." Red flag #6: After paying, my friend thanked Chris for serving us even if Han didn't want to do it and he looked at her like "yeah whatever I didn't either." It's embarrassingly sad how unhappy they are at work. I'm such a nice, hospitable, understanding person. Not overreacting-- just the vibes were completely bad/off. Sorry if my expectations are those of a 5 star not 1 star. Pad See Ew was flavorless and it has nothing to do with it not having meat. I've ordered pad see ew with tofu and it tasted great. As well as ppl ordering meat on the side with no problem. Perhaps they should only hire people who are truly passionate about serving customers....instead of dictating how and what they order. We ordered Tom yum soup with chicken, Ka Pow with pork and the pineapple fried rice with chicken. All at their spiciest level. Tom yum: super tasty! Initially it was actually too spicy for me, but adding white rice really brought out all the flavors. Ka Pow: the right amount of spicy and tasty meat. Pineapple fried rice: the star of the show! This was so good, with the curry taste and sweet hints. Perfect level of spice. This is the dish that would bring me back. Service was on point. Ordered the pad Thai and the portions are great for the price! Had a lot of flavor and you can choose between chicken, beef, or shrimp. It's definitely one of their best dishes they have. The spice is also adjustable, with the default spice being very casual but still great for people who like a little kick. I often eat here and have only ever had one very very very minor issue with the food, but I am also incredibly picky haha.
