Came on Monday around 5:30pm. It was super quick to order and get it to go. Highly recommend!

I was on a work trip and was looking for a place to eat for dinner. I found this place on my Yelp and a social media influencer. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I ordered 2 item combo which has mushroom chicken, beef and broccoli with rice/chow mein combo. I also ordered 2 chicken egg roll. The food was delicious and very filling. The ambiance was customer friendly. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were very great.

China town express is one of those hole in the walls that you gotta try them out! Doesn't look like much from the outside but man let me tell you there food is on point! Normally when I go to your typical Chinese place it's super greasy and doesn't taste good . China town express is not it they serve great food good prices . Service is ok they are pretty fast and efficient no complains check them out !

Half chow mein half white rice beef and broccoli and orange chicken. They give so much definitely worth the price:)

Tried this spot today and it did not disappoint. The food portions are great, they pack your food at a decent amount. Taste wise its overall pretty tasty. We ordered chow mein, rice, black pepper chicken & spicy shrimp with broccoli (not super spicy). Was able to taste test it before ordering. Also tried the teriyaki chicken which in our opinion was a bit tough in texture but overall not bad. Broccoli beef was also decent . They offer a variety of drinks as well which is always a plus. I would recommend trying it out

The food was OK, but the servings were more vegetables than protein. Then I sit down to eat and the food was on the cold side

    Love it

Awesome place, I had been visiting this place for several years and the food is good, affordable price, plenty of parking at the shopping center. I'm very picky about the chicken flavor, and here definitely is chicken. The orange chicken is my favorite and the taro boba frappé. I highly recommend this place.

The broth was flavorful without being greasy, and the lamb was tender with no strong gamey taste. The rougamo was hot, flaky, and filled with plenty of meat--we liked it enough to take another one home. The knife-cut noodles were thick and chewy, with large pieces of tender beef in almost every bite. The menu has a nice mix of Northwestern specialties and familiar Chinese comfort food, so it's an easy place to visit with a group. A friend tried the crispy beef on a previous visit and really liked it, so that's already on my list for next time. There's plenty of free parking outside, and the dining room feels bright, clean, and comfortable. The weekday lunch special also makes the prices very reasonable. The staff kept our water filled, brought everything out promptly, and checked in to make sure the flavors worked for us. Attentive without hovering--which I really appreciated. A very solid new option near Irvine.

We ordered the dry tossed knife cut pork noodles with eggs, crispy beef and honey walnut shrimp. The noodles came out, the picture on the ordering menu shows egg, the Chinese description said with eggs, there was no eggs in our noodle? But since it's basically self service there was no server around so we figured just eat it. Oh my god, it's sooooo salty, the pork is poorly marinated with way too much salt, I had to eat a lot of noodle and some white rice to chuck it down. Then the crispy beef which a lot of people recommended, it was way overly fried, completely battered and barely any beef in there. This is worse than the noodles. We basically left the whole entire plate untouched, and not sure what we could do taking it home coz it's so bad. The only thing remotely ok is honey walnut shrimp, but given the poor quality of food, I would never be back again and do not recommend this place to anyone in Irvine.

Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

Turns out, it wasn't nearly as crowded as before - though spoiler: the price has increased a lot (I want to say it was $25/lb 10 years ago, and now is $37/lb). Keep in mind too, you can't get a small amount like 1lb - usually it's gonna be 3+lb so your bill is easily going to hit mid-$100 to $200s from the lobster alone. That being said, many people swear this is the best, and that's why they can charge whatever they want. I'm actually allergic to lobster (lol) but am a team player so I just sampled it for the funsies, and had to get another dish to actually eat (went with the beef lok luk). My family said the lobster noodle was good, but not like, fantastic (which we were expecting not fantastic but yeah, mostly came here to a family meeting.) The beef lok luk was also pretty good like, 4.3 of 5 - we just had another version at Paradise which was astounding (like 4.6) though also more expensive and pretty far away. Overall, not sure if we'll come back again as we're more curious about the copycats that have popped up which might be 80% as good and much more affordable. Stay tuned! :)

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Not too thick, great flavor and nice and hot! Some large egg rolls were included. A little oily for my taste but again, Irene liked hers. You can ask for some S&S/mustard dipping sauce. A slightly different take on how they prepared the mustard. The sweet and sour was decent breaded chicken with good homemade sauce, chopped onions and peppers. No pineapple darn it. My Kung Pao could have been called Kung zucchini! That was okay as the portion was huge and I shared some. Plenty of peanuts too (I wished they had been cooked inside the wok..).
