Duck curry with pineapple -- well-done duck with a chewy texture +
    Paprika M.

Taste :4.7/5 Environment: 4.8/5 Service :5/5 If you've lived in OC for years and still haven't tried this place... fix that. Beautiful presentation, premium-quality dishes, and it's perfect for a date with your bestie. My top picks: Sea bass -- super fresh, soft, melts in your mouth (presentation is gorgeous) Duck curry with pineapple -- well-done duck with a chewy texture + balanced curry (also stunning) Also worth trying: Tom Zapp Ribs -- slow-simmered beef ribs in tangy spicy Thai herbal broth (lemongrass + kaffir lime + chili). I haven't seen this anywhere else. Spicy corn salad + salted egg -- surprisingly addictive combo BBQ pork jowl + jeaw / tamarind sauce -- chewy, smoky, so good Plenty of free parking

    Holy Basil with wagyu

Restaurant can get a little busy; came on a Thursday night and waited about 30 min. However, the food came quick. Holy basil with wagyu-the spice level is not for the faint of heart. Too spicy for me but my boyfriend got through it, kinda. Menu didn't mention spicy level so it tooks us by surprise. Wagyu skewers- very juicy, tender and flavorful. Sauce a little spicy. Fresh rolls- 4 large pieces. So fresh, basic and delicious. Sadly only 1 shrimp per piece. Crab noodles- it was good but felt it lacked a little flavor. Asked for a side of sweet chili sauce. It was good but not my favorite. First time trying it so flavor profiles took a min to adjust to. Good portion of crab. Large restaurant, well lit seating area. Good portions. Would try again!

Been wanting to branch out and explore more Thai spots around Tustin, and this one kept popping up on Yelp so we decided to give it a try tonight. I had been eyeing a few others too, but the long waits always scared me off Parking was easy with a good amount of spaces outside, and the wait was only about 5 minutes around 7:15 PM, which was a pleasant surprise. The inside ambience was modern, trendy, and really cute... although we were seated toward the back, which didn't feel quite as nice as the front dining area. Now onto the important part... the food Holy basil Wagyu beef - $22.99 | 4/10 This was unfortunately the biggest letdown of the night. I had read another review saying it wasn't their favorite, but still wanted to try it because my hubby loves pad kra pow and this seemed somewhat similar. Sadly... it missed the mark for us. The rice was very dry, the wagyu mince was dry and overly salty, and overall it was our least favorite dish of the night. Honestly one of the more disappointing Thai dishes I've had in a while. Would personally skip unless dry rice and salty minced beef is your thing. Papaya Salad + Soft Shell Crab - $18.99 + $2 | 8/10 This one was super tasty. We chose medium spice, and it had just the right kick. Great balance of sour, sweet, savory, crunch, and freshness with the papaya, carrots, peanuts, and dressing all working really well together. Definitely one of our favorites. Pad See Ew with Beef - $16.99 + $2 beef | 8/10 Really enjoyed this one. The standout was definitely the beef -- incredibly tender, probably some of the softest beef I've had in a Thai noodle dish. The noodles were flavorful, the veggies were cooked nicely, and overall just a very satisfying plate. Crispy Spicy Catfish - $20.99 | 8/10 Another favorite. Loved the crispy texture of the catfish with the sweet-spicy sauce. The bell peppers balanced it nicely, and I also loved those little peppercorn stems mixed in -- added a really fun flavor and texture. Very flavorful dish overall. Fried Calamari - $12.99 | 6/10 This one was just okay. Hubby and I always order calamari when we see it on a menu because we love comparing them from place to place, but this one came out pretty cold and didn't taste fresh out of the fryer. Could've skipped this one and not missed much. Overall: Service was very friendly and welcoming all night -- our servers were kind, attentive, and honestly probably what pushed the experience higher for us. for service. Food-wise, we enjoyed 3 out of the 5 dishes, so overall I'd personally land around 3/5 stars. A solid spot to try if you're in the area and wanting Thai food, especially if you're craving papaya salad, pad see ew, or catfish. Not sure it's somewhere I'd specifically drive out to Tustin for again, but I'm glad we gave it a try. Happy eats!

Crab noodle, Egg Roll, Panang Curry

Wanted to find a different thai spot to try and this spot did not disappoint! Upon entering, you step into a very welcoming dining space with lots of tables and seating, even with an extended dining room in the back! The staff was friendly and quickly greeted and guided me to my reserved table. The space was cozy and warm while having a minimalist vibe, but still had that small business owner feel to it. The menu had so many food options, more than some of the other thai spots around in OC. Here, you'll find some more rare dishes besides your more common and popular noodle and curry dishes. Dishes we ordered: - Crab Noodles: this was probably the most popular one for the table! Amount of crab was pretty good for the value and noodles were perfectly sweet and savory with the fried egg. Would definitely order this again! - Panang Curry with Chicken: this was also probably one of the best panang that I've had! The chicken was also very tender. Medium heat was the perfect amount of space that packed flavor with just the right kick to it. - Creamy Udon in Tom Yum Soup: just a little mild for those who don't want anything too spicy. While the crispy pork had good flavor, the pieces were a bit hard to chew. - Pad Thai: not usually my go-to dish because it's more sweet than savory, but this dish was pretty good. - Egg Rolls: perfect to share as an appetizer! Filling was well seasoned and rolls were lightly fried for a good crispy texture. With so many popular thai spots around OC, it can be tricky finding one that checks all the marks, but this one might have it all! Now I just need to make sure to save stomach space to try their mango sticky rice...

Nice Thai restaurant! The restaurant is located in a plaza so there's a parking lot out front. Service was fast. I enjoyed the pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. The Thai tea was a bit too sweet for my liking.

    Holy Basil with Wagyu beef

Large restaurant with plenty of seating. Came during lunch hour and there were very few people inside, so got seated and served quickly. Nice ambiance overall with a great background music selection that fit the atmosphere well. Ordered the holy basil with wagyu beef. Unfortunately it wasn't memorable for me. Having pad kra pao plenty of times in Thailand, where it's usually moist, well seasoned, and fiery, this had heat but was noticeably dry. The egg was too small and too fried to be runny as you're supposed to be able to break the yolk into the beef and mix it together into the spicy beef. Other dishes might be good and I wouldn't mind trying something else as the menu is quite extensive, but this one was a skip.

Tried the BBQ ribeye, calamari and shrimp with egg yolk glaze, and Pad Thai from Thai Favorite Cuisine and honestly, every dish brought something different to the table. The Pad Thai was my favorite of the night. The flavor was so well-balanced -- not overly sweet, not too tangy, and the savory notes came through perfectly. The noodles were cooked just right and every bite felt comforting without being too heavy. You can tell they paid attention to the sauce ratio instead of drowning the dish in it. The calamari and shrimp with egg yolk glaze had that addictive crispy texture while still staying light. The egg yolk coating added richness without overpowering the seafood, and the sweet chili dip on the side tied everything together really well. The BBQ ribeye was tender, flavorful, and paired nicely with the fresh greens and dipping sauce. It had that smoky charred flavor that makes it hard to stop eating piece after piece. Overall, this meal felt satisfying without any one dish overpowering the others. Definitely one of those spots where you leave already thinking about what you want to order next time. Sadly, I didn't have enough room for dessert, but the mango sticky rice is definitely first on my list next time.

I recently visited Thai Favorite Cuisine this last weekend on Mother's Day. We were lucky that we made reservations for our group because the amount of people waiting to get a table was overwhelming. The waiting list had about 10 groups or so. We did have to wait a good 10-12 minutes for our table even with reservations, but the lady handling the waitlist was so sweet and kept us updated often when a table for us would be available. Once seated, we noticed the plates were an inconsistently cleaned and had to ask for new sets. Our group opted to do family-style dining so we each ordered a dish and we all shared. We ordered: pad thai with shrimp, tom kha with chicken, BBQ ribeye, moo tod, ong choy, spicy crispy fish filet. We also ordered the coconut custard, fried bananas with ice cream, and mango sticky rice for desserts. This restaurant was awarded a 1-star Thai Select so I had high expectations going in that we would be served authentic Thai cuisine. The flavors were definitely well-balanced, well-seasoned, and embodied the essence of Thai cooking definitely pretty authentic. I just have to critique the fried bananas a bit because they came in egg roll wrappers and not the coconut sesame batter that they normally are coated in. Overall, food was good and so cheap that I would definitely stop by again.

Life's little surprises are what make it worth looking forward to. From the moment the dishes arrived, it felt like such a delightful surprise. First rec: the sea bass. Incredibly fresh and so soft in every bite. Our second surprise: the duck pineapple curry strong curry and juicy duck And the tom kha pot with shrimp Exactly what you can't miss in Thai food Even the menu and interior design is designed to enlighten the surprise A beautifully crafted feast from start to finish. Filet mignon on stick and watercress also can't be missed to complete ending with the sweetest surprise: The Thai tea bingsu Creative and icy love IG: socalhkfoodies

Thai Favorite Cuisine is a local favorite for a reason! This spot is serving up some authentic Thai food in a gorgeous environment. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Reservations are recommended during busier times, but walk-ins are accepted as well. Inside, they have a very nice interior with a good amount of seating. For their menu, they have all the classics with a solid selection of appetizers, entrees, and drinks to choose from. My group ended up getting the Fried Calamari, Pad Thai (Seafood), Pad Thai (Beef), and the Boat Noodle Soup. Overall, everything that we had was delicious and all of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and left very satisfied. Definitely consider this spot for your next dinner date or night out with friends and/or family!

This thai cuisine spot located in Tustin has such amazing, satisfying dishes. The flavors were powerful and had great presentation! Portion size was pretty decent as well! Their steamed cod, ribeye, and duck dishes were super tender and their khao soi and curry were extremely flavorful. perf place to bring family or friends! i would definitely come back. workers were also very friendly and food came out pretty fast

    Pad See Ew with beef

This location has had a Thai restaurant since we moved here in 1991 and thru the pandemic. It is now Thai Favorite, and the recent remodel is a definite improvement of the space and decor. I have been here several times with friends, and there is a good selection of Lunch Specials. The portions are large and flavorful. Today, I ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and an iced jasmine tea. Hubby got his favorite Pineapple Fried Rice with shrimp and a bottle of Singha beer. We are happy that this is close to home with good parking.

Excellent! Came here on Saturday and then again on Wednesday. Both times it was a hit. We ordered the classics. Service was excellent- attentive and kind. Ambiance is adorable, very well lit and bright. Parking was abundant. We ordered chicken satay (flavorful and juicy), pad see ew (sooooo good- tasted like it was just made fresh and brought to the table), red curry (comforting), Thai basil with chicken (solid). On Saturday we had the Chilean sea bass- first of all, the presentation was A+ in a little hanging pot, but the flavor was gingery and light. Can't wait to come again and again!

I ordered the papaya salad, my friend got the sliced ribeye khao soi noodle soup, and we both got a Thai tea. Loved the presentation of the food that came out. Servers were really nice. However I did not appreciate the way we were rushed to leave. While eating, they had let us know they would be closing the kitchen soon, and we saw groups being turned away that just walked in. That's when we found out they close at 2:30 PM. We weren't even close to finishing up our meal when they came over to take payment with their mobile card reader. We quickly scarfed down our food and took the rest to go as to be considerate that they were already starting to clean tables. Didn't feel like we were able to enjoy our experience fully. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.
