It's obviously overpriced because it's in SPOKANE. But, it actually surprisingly tasted OK. It didn't taste terrible like all the other Asian restaurants in Spokane. Even though this restaurant looks like it's really dirty and worn down from outside, it actually has a decent view once you get inside. This restaurant sits on the strip of the Spokane River so it actually has a nice view of the river. However, their service was terrible. We had to wait 10 minutes just to get seated. And there was plenty of empty tables so I have no idea why we had to wait 10 minutes. After we were seated, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes just to get our water. Then we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get our food. So just come here when you are not so restrained on time. Because it will take at least an hour or more to get your food. On the bright side, they offer student discounts of 20%. Just show your student ID. read more

The store is empty, everyone else has gotten their orders, this is not only the biggest waist of my time and money, but I find it extremely unprofessional considering she told me only a ten minute wait. Alright...I rarely give any place 3 stars. I ordered Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Satay, the latter is in the appetizer section. I already acknowledged the high price, I accepted it because my only favorite Thai restaurant was closed on Sunday. The Chicken Satay literally has only 4 chicken strips. I don't expect giant sized chicken strips, but 4 pieces for $12!? Are you kidding me...? Not to mention, the peanut sauce is not like something special that only you guys offer. If the sauce is special and super delicious, then we would appreciate it- and other things can be justified then. You charge an appetizer so high for only 4 pieces with a bit of peanut sauce. My Beef Pad Thai costs $16 which I accepted, the food is okay, little overcooked and the amount of veggies is little, so $16 for that? As a business owner, you may want to ask yourself: what would you do then in order to have your new customers come back again? Why wouldn't they come back? And no I will never come back (Taste of Thai is my favorite place, food is much better, balanced amount of veggies in all noodle dishes, and price is reasonable). This is one of the better Thai restaurants here. I especially love the location! The outdoor patio is great, there is plenty of seating out there and you're right next to the river, it's quite beautiful. I ordered the pad se ewe it's my go to for Thai restaurants, some obviously make it better than others, but Bangkok is one of the better ones. I get it with a spice level of 4 which is prefect for me. We also ordered the spring roll appetizer and this was what I was disappointed in, they are quite small but, pretty good. Our server wasn't very attentive and that was another disappointment, especially at 2pm there is no excuse for that, it certainly wasn't busy. Couldn't tell you about the quality of the food because it was taking too long when waiting to pick it up! Ordered over the phone, and was told it would be ready in 20 min. We arrive exactly after 20 min and were told 5 more minutes until the food would be ready. 45 minutes later.... still not ready so we just left. In addition, the man at the register, was NOT wearing a mask as he should during a time like this. We watched as he kept checking the food and looking inside the boxes multiple times. It appeared that he only had our order and another mans order to focus on, so this was concerning. Overall, POOR customer service, seemed unsanitary, and our food would've been cold by the time we got it if we ever did.... and never got a call back after giving my number over the phone. read more

This is a house favorite for my roommates and I. There is no food the five of us would rather eat on a Tuesday night, smushed onto our giant, L-shaped college couch than Bangkok Thai's #27 Gang Massaman with Tofu and two star spice. Super yummy green curry and the crab rangoon thingies were probably the best I've ever had. I loved sitting where I could see the river, didn't expect that! I would definitely go back. Husband's Pad Thai wasn't the creamiest, peanuttiest ever, but he said it was good. In my husband's language, that's an "A" grade, haha. The crab rangoon plus an entree for each of us meant we have half our entrees to devour tomorrow--large portions. I sat outside in a beautiful grass area with trees and flowers that faced the Spokane river. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I really enjoyed the sound of the running water. The service was good and the people were very nice. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. The food was okay. The noodles were over cooked and starchy. The dish had very little chicken and even less shrimp (3 pieces). Soy sauce helped the flavor. The meal was $18. If you like more noodles and less protein, you would consider this a good deal. We went for a late lunch around 2:30 on a friday. Not very busy The server said they weren't doing the lunch combo deals but could still do the buffet. And at $15 for the unlimited buffet compared to $15 for a plate I just decided to try the buffet. It was as good as a buffet goes. It's obvious some of the food had been there a while since the buffet was almost over but the server asked if I wanted them to remake any of the items (there was red, green, and yellow curry, spring rolls, rice, pad Thai, mixed vegetables, and some meat dishes). It was super nice they were willing to do that considering I was probably the only one that would be eating it. And the food was food! Big fan of the curry and spring rolls! Being from Hawaii, Thai places are all over the place and great Thai places too. Spokane..... not so much, but I was told I have to try this place because of the Thai places that are around, this one was super good.. Why not.. I'm craving some panang anyway... I ordered the panang curry, which I can get this at a spicy level of 1-5. I opted to get the level 3 because I went with some friends.. Being korean, i could have taken the heat, but we were eating family style, so I opted for the lesser spiciness and opted to add in extra spices.. Or half of each of the three jars of spices to make it SPICY!!!!! This has got to be some of the best panang I've had since Mama's fish house in maui.. We also ordered some soup, i can't remember the name, but it wasn't the creamy coconut one.. It was def spicy and amazing, fresh flavors with such boldness. It was awesome.. Def recommend, and it's such a huge serving that one person could be overly satisfied with just the one soup! This ain't no bowl were talking about... The sweet and sour steak was super good with nice pieces of steak with an awesome flavor for the sauce. The veggies were not overcooked, which I hate so they still had some crunch left to them. There was even some pineapple chunks in it which reminded me of home. Nice sweet and sourness to make for a wonderfully savory dish. The wide rice noodle dish we got at a level 4 of spicy and it had chicken and egg and veggies and noodles. It was delish. Again, bold flavors but not so overpowering, with the veggies not being over cooked. The sauce was flavorful and what I really enjoyed about all the dishes is that it wasn't overly salty!!!! The dishes were a little more expensive, it's not your "fast food" thai place, but it's def worth the prices. The dishes aren't small portions, so if a dish is $12, it's actually worth it, especially with the ingredients and the type of flavors and amount you get for that price. All dishes come with white rice that you can always get more of if you run out. I def say that you should try this place, even though the area is a bit shady.. Great spot for some authentic Thai food! The flavors and preparation are spot on. We are Seattle transplants and have eaten a lot of Thai so we're pretty tough critics. We always order the red curry and Pad see yew whenever we go to a new Thai place. Pad see yew noodles were soft and perfectly seasoned with that very slight char of sweet soy. Veggies still had bite, not mushy, very fresh. The curry had great flavor. I had the $9 lunch special, comes with rice, 2 tiny little bite sized egg rolls (which was delicious, just wish they were bigger!), and your choice of 2 small entree items. In addition to the red curry I got the Tom Kha soup, which was also great! Service was good and the restaurant has a very nice ambience, clean and bright, lovely view of the river. We gave this place a try based on other reviews. Showed up on a Friday night and got a table by the window, overlooking the river. Good start. There were three of us so we ordered a curry dish, the ginger duck and se ew noodles, all to eat family style. The duck arrived first. Imagine a beautifully presented dish with sliced duck and colorful veggies, and slivers of ginger...steaming hot. When you lean in to smell this beautifully presented dish, because you can't help yourself, you get punched in the face with a rancid oil/wet dog smell that contradicts the sight your eyes are seeing. This smell was so overwhelming that it didn't matter if the other two dishes were okay, they just couldn't be enjoyed. We pointed out the smell to a waitress who thought about it and said, "I think it always smells that way." As we were leaving, my husband told another staff member, only because he wanted to make sure they weren't using something that might make someone sick. She smelled the dish and made a face. That was confirmation enough. $80.00 for three people to eat a partial meal all while smelling rancid oil/wet dog only deserves one star, maybe not even that. Sorry. read more

There were several tables open, but we still had to wait to be seated (this was on a Saturday night) which leads me to believe they were I understaffed. Service: Poor. Staff was shabbily dressed. After our waiter delivered our food (which seemed to take forever to arrive), we never saw him again until the end of the meal when he delivered our check. No drink refills, ever. Food: Portion size was underwhelming. The pad Thai was really oily, and maybe had six pieces of chicken in it, tops. The entire place seemed like it was in need of maintenance, and a little run down. I ordered from Bangkok Thai one weekend at work for delivery. To my surprise the food came from this, the Trent, location. The food was so much better. The spice level was awesome. It was a solid 3 and I was loving it. When looking up the exact location I learned at Trent there is a lunch buffet. Today I arrived at 11:10am since I was in the neighborhood. The lunch buffet is so incredibly solid for those who like thai food. Pad thai, stir fried dishes and yellow, green and red curries. I also got mini spring rolls. They have a side table with a spice selection, sweet and sour sauce for the rolls and chopped peanuts. I was surprised how good it was. They really kept an eye on the food. Even though I chose the self service of the buffet my water was always full and the staff attention was extremely prompt and polite. I got to choose my seat and I found a nice table viewing the river. There are no fewer than 4 Thai restaraunts that offer lunch between my home and Bangkok Thai, however I will gladly drive here. There's no other way to put it. Not very flavorful even though it was drenched in sauce. . Even the sticky rice wasn't right. Different grains or they didn't cook it traditionally? Very dry. Phad Thai, again not very flavorful. Decent serving size, ordered two star and it came out probably a 3, my son had to eat with rice. Garlic shrimp, this tasted weird too. What is weird? Can't explain, just not right. No garlic flavor, spice, or any flavor at all actually. Just really salty. Served over steamed broccoli. Broccoli was good, tasted like broccoli! Came with side of white rice. Server was very attentive at first, but then again we came for an early dinner so we're the only customers. Two groups came in after us and i don't know if that overwhelmed him or what because we didn't see him again after that until we finished eating and i stared at him until he came over to bring us the check. $45 before tip for two entree and an appetizer?! Kind of ridiculous if you ask me! I brought the leftovers just because i hate to waste food and i figured i might eat it later since we're staying in a hotel. Came here for a lunch on a Monday and found the food surprisingly flavorful. It's a bit odd to find, it's inside a building with a cafe & brewery. The decor is very nice, eclectic. I travel a bit, from California, and was in town on business. Their lunch menu allows you to pick 2 items & it comes with rice & mini egg rolls for under $10. I had chicken red curry & mixed veggies. They have a spicy level up to 5, I had 3. It was not at all spicy, but not unexpected (it is after all Spokane). They have a spice rack available, so I just scooped some Thai chills from that. Visiting from Honolulu. Found this place on Yelp; of course! Had the mini Spring Rolls and Cashew Chicken, washed down with a cold Singha. Fried banana with ice creme for desert. Everything was excellent, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Ate inside but took desert out on the lanai. Paid about the same price for my dinner as I typically do for an identical Thai dinner back in Honolulu... not sure if that is a good thing for the locals though. This place is hidden away and was hard to find without a GPS. It would be nice if there was a large sign out on Trent Ave saying that this restaurant and others were located inside. I got the mini spring rolls and chicken and shrimp pad Thai. I had originally wanted tom yum soup but they only had a large portion to share and wouldn't do half sizes. They should really look into serving smaller sizes. So I got the mini spring rolls instead which were just ordinary. I asked for the spiciest pad Thai and it was pretty spicy compared to other Thai restaurants but being Asian and loving spicy it was not enough for me. Overall it tasted fine nothing too spectacular. They have a patio adjacent to No-Li and even offer some of the beers from next door. Service was very prompt and efficient for our Thursday lunch. Both the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee were perfectly sweet and yummy. I thought the $9 lunch combo deal was exceptionally priced, and the portion (excluding the rice, which always seems in short supply at these restaurants and you could order an additional serving of for a fee) was more than I could finish in 1 sitting. I didn't even have room for the $6 fried banana w/ice cream :-( I got the red curry and the yellow curry, and both were lovely. Creamy, sauce, chunky bell peppers and potatoes, respectively. This is my favorite Spokane Thai restaurant. Everything I've tried here has been stellar, but my go-to favorite is Pad Kee Mao. Love it! The fresh rolls are also really great, as is the Gang Massaman, Gang Dang, Pad Pak, Pad Thai, and well, really everything. You can taste the freshness in all the veggies, and the seasoning is right on. Yeah, they're pretty killer. The wait staff is friendly and fast. I usually bring guests here because is the food terrific and the Spokane River right outside the window. (Psst...Dry Fly is right next door!) Plus, there are these gnarly Predator/Alien action figures along the wall which separates the kitchen from the dining area. It's bizarre, but somehow perfect. read more

I'm surprised nobody has gotten around to reviewing this place yet. It's a very nice location right across the hall from Northern Lights Brewing Company. As such, it very smartly serves four of their beers with dinner for only like a quarter more than across the hall. The decor is bright yet not overstated. Dim lights and large booths give an aura approaching elegant. The food is reasonably priced - if a touch on the expensive side - and very good. I won't pretend to know what authentic Thai food tastes like, but my Pad Khing was quite tasty with the perfect amount of heat at level 2 (a bit less than a hot salsa). This restaurant has reliably good Thai food and I love the atmosphere of the Riverwalk location! If you are new to Thai or just looking for a new Thai place, you should definitely try the lunch buffet at the Riverwalk Bangkok Thai. They have a nice variety of curries and noodles and always feature a few vegetarian entrees. It's $11 and all you can eat, so bring your appetite! If you are ordering dinner or take out, the pad Thai and pad kee mao are good and so is the gang dang (red) curry. Stay away from the tom kha kai, their recipe is not very good. Wine list is pretty good for a Thai restaurant--they have about 20 wines by the glass and many are from local wineries. read more

As a GU student, I have enjoyed this place 3 times now. It get's 3 stars because each time it has been different. Each time I have ordered take out pad thai and have been pleased, but not blown away. First time- really busy Saturday night, had to wait, portion was very small for the $14 I paid. Second time- very slow Tuesday night, fast, pretty spicy for a 2 star rating, lots more, got a student discount! Third time- Friday evening, fast, good portion, much more in a 2 star range spiciness, weird black flecks (char, totally edible) in food. So over all- inconsistent. But so convenient if you want to pick it up not too far from campus. I would recommend this place if you REALLY wanted some Thai but I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are a Pad Thai snob. Let's start off by saying the waitress was extremely disrespectful and gave our table these small plastic cups whereas everybody else had your regular size cups. Upon explaining a certain food item, she used the word "snot" which i deemed inapproriate.
