What a gem, this restaurant turned out to be . I was originally heading the the place next door but the tables were all occupied there and stools seating available. My back was killing me from walking around with some heavy bags and sitting on a stool was not would be the worst option at that time. I saw that Bangrak had some open tables and the lunch special looked fair. I went in and was so warmly welcomed in the cozy atmosphere . The shop is very cute. For those who love to take restaurant selfies it's perfect. The lucnh special had options to customize ,I like that. The portions were very filling, and the food was excellent. Thai flavors shone through and I honestly stayed much longer than I anticipated. Enjoying the mellow relaxed space. It was after regular lunch rush hours and before dinner so it was not crowded, I can see a place like this with this good food being packed for dinner. Tables are close together and the shop is small . Service was quick and everything was hot and fresh. I got Spring Rolls, (special comes with a soup as well) and the Thai Basil Fried Rice - spicy and fragrant just like i like it -I added chicken. This place was almost full. And we found out why. Service was attentive and the food was very good. We started with the chicken and shrimp dumplings. They were tasty and were correctly titled as there seemed to be more chicken than shrimp. For entrees we ordered the Chicken Volcano and Shrimp with Cashew Nut Stir Fry. The Chicken Volcano was plentiful with broccoli, pineapple and assorted veggies. The chicken was fried and while tasty was a bit too greasy for me. I went with friend for lunch on 5/20/26. I had a chicken rice dish which was bland and had very few vegetables. Chicken portion - was the size of sugar cube about 1 inch each and I counted maybe 8 pieces total. Vegetables total - 1/8 slice of zucchini, 2 cherry tomatoes sliced in half, broccoli rabe 4 small slices 1 inch, 1/4 slice of lime. Furthermore, they were very generous with the rice though. The dish was mostly rice. I had the curry puffs appetizer and a glass of wine too. I've eaten at this restaurant several times last year in 2025, the food was good and portions of meat/ veggies was generous. However, this year they changed the menu and the portions of meat/veggies are much less. But the price has gone up! Very displeased with the food. I know the cost of produce/meats has gone up, but that's no excuse for restaurants to scale back on portions and raise prices to consumers. For the cost of $72.00 and tip, I would of expected better quality and quantity of food. I will not be eating there again. The service was just ok. read more

Ordered delivery from here tonight since I was craving Thai food, and it did not disappoint! My food arrived quickly, hot, and neatly packaged, and the drink was ice cold. They had the clever idea to put my lychee Thai iced tea in a paper rice container, so it wouldn't spill, for which I was grateful. The lychee Thai iced tea had the traditional Thai iced tea flavor we all know and love, plus some additional sweetness and fruitiness from the lychee. It also comes with two pieces of lychee in the drink, which made me very happy. As for the food, it was delicious! Tofu pad see ew is my go-to every time I go to a Thai restaurant or order delivery. It had the perfect blend of sweet and savory, and was also garlicky, which is a flavor I absolutely love. Tried out this teeny Thai restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. It can accommodate 20 people, tops. The staff were lovely. They have not one but two lunch specials- one with two courses and one with three. My wife had the salad, which was one of her favorites. I had the excellent chicken and shrimp dumplings. For mains, my wife gave 2 thumbs up to the chicken with cashew nuts. I loved the creamy shrimp Tom Yum soup. The portions were generous. I scarfed down a potent Thai iced coffee. I went to Bangrak Thai for the first time yesterday for lunch and I'll definitely be back! It's a small restaurant and there were a few people dining but they could accommodate us right away. They have a lunch special (I believe it's seven days a week) and the staff were very hospitable. The lunch special is advertised as $14 for several dishes. For $14 you get an entree and an appetizer such as spring rolls, chicken and shrimp dumplings or tofu soup. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken (maybe the chicken is $1 extra, as it was $15 on the receipt) and I also ordered a Thai iced tea ($5) which was very good! Sometimes I find Thai iced tea to be cloyingly sweet, but not this one! I was very glad! I'm happy to have found this Thai restaurant. read more

I also enjoyed that a good portion of it was veggies and it wasn't just rice with 3 pieces of vegetable. Coconut crispy shrimp was standard. I was craving a crunch and it satisfied that but I didn't really taste the coconut. The khao Soi gai is a northern style curry and tastes amazing after adding lime. Chicken is very tender and the curry has a unique creamy flavor. Pad Woon Sen Goong was very flavorful sautéed glass noodles. A good amount of vegetables and a few shrimp. New Thai restaurant on the UES. The interior is very inviting and cozy - tropical themed which is fun! Tables are well spaced out given the narrow set up. My boyfriend and I came for dinner on the weekend and got the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and then I got the beef pad thai. I thought my pad thai was a little dry (not enough sauce) but the beef was tasty. I liked my boyfriend's dish more - the pad see ew - it was very moist, super soft and tender beef, and the Chinese broccoli cooked very well, too. As of now, there is no alcohol served so you can just bring your own alcohol. The service was friendly. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp and mango with sticky rice for delivery. Both items were ample quantity and delicious! Their Pad Thai dish is made with skinny noodles unlike other places I've had Pad Thai from, but all the more it made for a tasty meal. The mangoes were juicy ripe. The sticky rice could have been made a little more moist as it was a bit dry and the coconut sauce was too diluted. They need to thicken the coconut milk sauce. The mangoes made up for it. The sauce was sweet and just a touch spicy, with soft pepper flakes. I tried my hardest to get every bit of sauce out of that little dish. My partner got the Gra Prao Moo Grob. I've never seen this on the menu at a Thai restaurant before, but I will forevermore look for it. The pieces of meat were perfectly crispy, and I loved using their chili oil. You could use a good amount and have the heat build without burning your tongue off. I got the pad kee mao with tofu and although I'm not typically drawn to this dish, I was really happy with it.
