They have salad with that addictive carrot ginger dressing too. If you haven't tried the peanut avocado roll I definitely recommend it. It tastes like they might use honey roasted peanuts and it is a very good combination. The food is consistently good and the staff are very conscientious and the service is fast. It was alright. I usually order from Isohama, so I have a high standard. I ordered the Tokyo Chicken bento set. Fire Island roll and the Dragon Egg. The Dragon Egg is lobster meat with shrimp mixed in, all wrapped in avocado. It's decadent, and is much better mixed with rice. By itself it's kind of a disaster. It didn't taste like much either, I would skip it. The Tokyo Fried Chicken set was soggy. And smaller than the usual bento sets from sushi places. The chicken was seasoned well. Shumai is delightful but very hard to screw up hahha. Bento didn't come with miso. The Fire Island roll was very hard to eat -- overwhelming smoky taste that ruined the flavour of the roll. This is a go to place for unpretentious, no frills sushi. The thing with sushi in NYC is that the cheaper ones tend to use old/low quality fish and the "high end" ones tend to be overpriced and not really appropriate if you're just having those "sushi craving" moments. For $18.50 you can get a deluxe sushi platter and for $12.95 you can get a chicken teriyaki Bento, cheaper than most of the sushi places in UES while the fish is still relatively fresh. Ordered delivery on a Saturday night, and was not disappointed! The food came well packaged and in a speedy 45 minutes (which is great since I do not live close at all). Miso soup- affordable at $1.75 which I appreciated since it's one of those things you always get in house but hate to pay for when getting delivery. Sushi deluxe platter, Godzilla roll and Sweet 16 roll were all really good. The fish was fresh and the platter was a really nice mix of rolls and fish types. When ordering sushi specialty rolls normally I find they're not worth the money, but that was definitely not the case at Hanabi. You get a hulking, delicious and exceptionally pretty roll for the money. If I was eating solo, I would order one of the specialty rolls and a Miso soup and be good to go. We also ordered yaki udon with beef, which was very tasty. I added a bunch of sriracha to it for some spice since it just comes with cabbage and beef and a very mild sauce. Quantity is enough for two meals easily. Highly recommend it if you're looking for solid sushi and related sides. read more

It's a cleaner version of Chinese take out place. I went on a Sunday evening and it's not crowded at all. The service is good and fast. The place is clean so we decided to dine in. I almost got a bento box (crazy cheap--ranging from 7 to 11ish dollars) but opted for the ramen, since I'd never had "real" ramen before. The woman at the register was so sweet and professional. I used to love eating here all the time, but then I realized that some of their foods aren't cooked the way they're supposed to be cooked. First of all, their takoyaki is super fried, not very delicious, and it falls apart easily. Secondly, I've had their chicken teriyaki as part of their lunch special and their chicken is FRIED. Chicken teriyaki is supposed to be GRILLED. If the dish is katsudon, for example, then the chicken can be fried. Thirdly, their salmon teriyaki is also partially fried. I got the yummy phila roll, Gyoza and the spicy tuna and the only part I could eat was the spicy tuna and even that was barely edible I just didn't want to waste it.
