Came here for lunch with a friend. I got a roasted pork Banh mi sandwich and really enjoyed it, although they forgot to put daikon in it. You order at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring you your food. The service was great and our food came out really fast. They have a decent amount of seating but it was quite warm inside the restaurant.
First time trying and it was okay. I ordered the pork bowl and pork banh mi no pate. I also ordered shrimp rolls which were freshly made. The pork though on both the banh mi and the bowl was kind of tough. Maybe it should be grilled and served hot. I will come back and try their pho.
Quick and delicious banh mi bite nestled a block away from the ferry building! Had a craving and was not disappointed... well besides the price but it's in downtown so to be expected! They also have some other eats like Pho, Bo Kho (beef stew), vermicelli bowls, and more seasonal goods! I'd come around again if I was around the area, the ladies are very kind and accommodating! Definitely more of a place to grab a quick bite on your lunch break if you work around the area.
Blazing 5*! ONLY GOOD ° 5 spice chicken was moist, flavorful, balanced. ° Shrimp Spring roll freshly made. Not stiff at all (like premade) - sauce is flavorful; although I do like it a little more peanut heavy. ° LOVE the window so you can see fresh, vibrant, and beautiful ingredients. ° Ladies making and taking the order seem very kind and nice. ° It's a short walk to have lunch while looking at the Bay Bridge. Highly recommend! It was a great experience overall.
The pho is good, but my favorite dish is the tofu teriyaki bowl. I stop by for it at least once a week.

On this stop I asked the young lady behind the counter to suggest something good for this first-timer and after consulting with the lady in charge, they suggested I try the 50/50, chicken and meat ball pho so I could get a taste of both! I went with their suggestion and was very happy. First of all, their to go packaging was great! When I got back to the office, nothing was spilled in the bag (Yesssss!). Then the food itself was delicious. The broth was done very nicely and their was plenty of it. The same with the chicken and meat ball. The bean sprouts and cilantro (in a separate bag) were very fresh and the rice noodles were done just right! Banh Mi King seems to be a family owned and operated restaurant. They have a small and very clean dining area and their customer service is great. I will be going back there again.

This reviews is only about the Vietnamese Coffee. Cost: $7.55 Size: Very Small (I should have asked if they had anything bigger.) Taste: Very good. It's not too strong for me. This is coming from someone who doesn't like coffee that is too bitter and/or too strong. Service: Good Wish for the price it would be a bigger size. But I won't knock the stars down for that. 5/5 read more
I ordered a banh mi for a late lunch from here to stave off the hunger before my workout. I ordered a roasted pork (grilled pork not an option) banh mi without mayo, as I wasn't sure if they use egg butter or mayo. and I couldn't confirm since I ordered online for pickup. The banh mi was ready upon arrival, and I decided to dine in since the restaurant has a really nice vibe/decor, there were plenty of tables, and there were no other guests eating in. The first thing I noticed after unwrapping the banh mi was how good the bread smelled. While the sandwich was compact and not too big, it was the perfect lunch-sized portion. The meat was overall pretty lean and well-seasoned, and the patê was light and not overpowering, so it didn't overwhelm the banh mi whatsoever. The bread was just about the right texture, and I imagine it would've been ever fresher if I would've come earlier in the day. Definitely been sleeping on this place up until now. Never would've thought I'd find decent Viet food in the SoMa/FiDi area, but I stand corrected. It's so conveniently located around the corner from my gym, so I'll definitely have to come back for more late lunches or early dinners read more
Came for a quick grab-n-go lunch with my brother, got 2 banh mis to go. Easy and quick counter service, they cut up the sandwiches for us too! There's some small table seating inside. Got 1 roasted pork and 1 traditional, both were fine, but having had quite a few banh mis in my time I think i had higher expectations! Also the sandwiches felt a little smaller than the usual. Price is about on par for lunch in the area, not sure if I'll come back as there are other banh mi places in the city I prefer but if you're craving one in the area this might hit the spot! read more

Good traditional banh mi. I'm glad to have this option in the East Cut, where Asian food is relatively scarce. The only reason it's not 5 stars is they didn't toast the bread. Shocking. I'll ask them to next time. read more

Love having this place as a nearby, quick option when I'm craving a banh mi. My go to is the roasted pork and it never disappoints. Only thing holding me back from coming back more often is the price, but it's still worth it compared to other options in the area! read more

Not very authentic tasting. The amount of vegetables was laughable. I ordered a combo sandwich which they up charge for then they gave me a roast pork. Not very happy with this experience better off at another place read more

Came here after working from Salesforce Park nearby. Order the Tofu Banh Mi here. It was very bland, slightly pan fried with salt and pepper. I know that tofu banh mi is not quite traditional but I am trying to cut down on meat consumption for the planet. This is the only Banh Mi place in the area so I thought I would give it a try. I am sure their other items are good as there was a strong aroma of pho when I walked in the store. The owners were very nice and my order (from Ritual) was ready when I got there. read more
I'm so glad this place is still open. I went in for lunch the other day, it wasn't too busy so I ordered and got my food right away. It's a perfect amount of food for the price, and they keep all the liquids separate so nothing gets soggy. read more
I ordered this via Ritual and they prepared it really fast. I went there and just took mine, the whole transaction didn't even take 2 minutes! Per what I observe, the restaurant is not as hard to find as what people claimed, but it is really small, though. I don't think I would feel comfortable bringing in a group there. Food was 3 stars. The pickled carrots are not as pickled, too weak in my opinion. The meat was great, hence 3 stars. The bread was too hard, hurting the inner of my mouth. Not the best, I would say. What's more annoying is that they claimed to have pate included in their roasted pork sandwich, but I don't think I got anything in there. Maybe next time I'll try to get it in person to make sure they smeared my bread with Pate :( read more

Very disappointed with the roast pork bahn mi. Very small amount of both pork and veg. Not a great value for the money. Other nearby places have much better banh mi for a similar price. read more
This place is convenient and I was able to order online. The sandwich was a good size, only thing was that they didn't toast the bread, I didn't taste much pate, and the mayo. Otherwise it was a decent sandwich. My order was ready when I got there. The staff greeted me right away. If you guys need a quick grab and go, I would definitely recommend. This was good! Not the best chicken banh mi I've had, but it was good! Maybe I will have to try the pork next time. The bread was warm and toasted which made it really good. The carrots and daikon were good too. I will definitely be back to try their other items! I thought it was a good hefty banh mi, and gave me a wonderful lunch! Would recommend it to anyone looking to have a quick lunch. The staff was super sweet and friendly too. read more

$9.50 for the fresh bowl, $8.50 for banh mi holy crow. That was more than I'd usually pay but given its prime location near Rincon Center, makes sense. I was also with a friend who's Vietnamese and she seemed to know what she was ordering. She asked for a combinatorial banh mi (I saw from the receipt). She ordered it in Vietnamese with the cashier and for that I was very impressed. He was very friendly and welcoming and I love that he and some of the others beside the counter spoke Vietnamese too. #authentic The food was very good. The chicken was spiced well and tasted fresh. The portion size wasn't bad and I was very happy with the amount of chicken. Will be back for lunch when I need a quick, authentic, and yummy bite. read more
