    21. 5-Spice Chicken Garlic Noodle
    Jocelyn L.

Love this spot! The five spice chicken is super juicy with the crispiest skin. The garlic noodles are delicious and come with a great nuoc cham. The service here is super fast. From ordering to receiving the food my average wait time is less than 10 minutes. The restaurant itself is small, but doesn't feel too cramped. The tables are for 2 - 4 people, but if needed they can push together multiple tables to accommodate more people.

Cozy family owned Viet place. When I visited many of the guests were buddy buddy with the staff. Very cute to see. It's a little dark inside, but the waiter made everyone feel so comfortable and welcomed everyone with a huge smile. Food was good, portion was huge! I didn't solid foods for almost 2 days (I mostly drink my calories), and I was able to finish the food except the greens. If I had eaten solids the day before, I most definitely wouldn't have finish the food. $15 for a huge bowl of vermicelli and pork!

Soo good! I the crispy skin of the 5 spice chicken and rolls over vermicelli. Honestly I think I can eat this every week and be a happier person. This restaurant is on Irving and has a welcoming sit down and enjoy feel. Service was excellent, my tea served in a mug ( much easier than the typical teacup) and regularly topped up without having to hunt down a server. Also had the shrimp and beef rolls as appetizers. The peanut dipping sauce was yummy. Others in our party didn't even look at the menu as they ordered the #1 (this seems to be the universal menu item at pho spots, LOL) and were soo quite as they enjoyed the huge bowls. Noticed the constant flow for pick up so there is clearly many long time customers who just dont want to deal with parking or navigating weather, ha ha. Definitely adding this spot as a go to when in the city and want a great comfort meal.

We ordered take out by phone and was told to pick up in 15 mins. They had the food boxed, bagged and ready when I arrived. There's a 25 cents charge for the plastic bag holding the food. Worse yet, the bill showed the sales taxed the bag as well. We ordered chicken and it was tasty. The garlic Pork with garlic noodle looked good. My 5 spice chicken was nicely cooked. The garlic noodles were OK. Not enough garlic flavor and inquired if they could cook the noodles longer to crisp it a bit. I was told there would be an extra fee if they did that! The imperial roll was good but tasted better with dipping sauce. If you order online, there's an extra service fee charge and the app auto charges tip unless you click to remove it. Staff was friendly at pick up counter.

Order: Five spice chicken garlic noodles: best in the city? The butter, garlic, chewiness of the noodles make this a go to place. Chicken breaded to perfection, skin falls off the juicy meat. Five spice chicken pho: underrated, broth is hot. Lots of noodles. Sriracha and hoisin is offered at each table!! Lots of tables for dine in and servers greeted us right away. There is an open kitchen where you can peek in when you're dining in, place is well lit. Restaurant is busy with lots of take out. Parking is difficult in the area due to all the restaurants.

If there's one thing I love to eat, it's garlic noodles, and this place has more than plenty! The real question is to what meat I would like to pair the garlic noodles with. I ended up with the Vietnamese curry chicken. Having the noodles combined with the curry is a game changer!

Used to come here more often a decade ago and recently went again. As a vegetarian who prefers small portions, I always love to just get a bowl of their veggie broth and a bowl of their garlic noods. Paired with the lemon and chilies, the broth is literally perfect on a cold day when you just need something hot. I requested their noods to be extra crispy pan fried, and they did not disappoint. So yummy! Inside there is plenty of space to sit down and eat. The gentleman that has always taken my order always makes sure everything is to my liking, and brought out at a reasonable time. Parking outside can be a bit challenging but I was able to find a space right out front after circling around for about fifteen minutes. Reminded me why I don't come here often, but once in a while it's ok! :)

A go-to spot for lunch or dinner in the Sunset. Usually not super busy and can get a seat. For the price, portions are heaping and food is delicious. My favorites are the charbroiled pork with garlic noodles, but the five-spice chicken is also excellent. Overall: 4.6/5

Oh my gosh..... One of the best affordable, generously portioned Asian garlic noodle places right on Irving street! Don't sleep on this Vietnamese cozy restaurant! (Honestly sleep on their pho though, you go here just for their vermicelli bowls or garlic noodles!) I'm glad I gave Perilla a second chance after the letdown Pho experience, the staff here was just as welcoming as my first experience! They're all so lovely kind and will answer any questions you may have. Here's what I got for the second time around: Charbroiled bbq pork garlic noodles Comes with a side of imperial rolls for the ultimate crunch, paired with the sweetness of the pork, umami garlic buttery goodness from the noodles all mesh together so well! Very very filling portion for two for sure :)

The five spice chicken garlic noodle with imperial rolls combo was delicious. Wish it had more garlic flavor to it, but overall tasted good. Service was friendly, but the wait for food after ordering during lunch hours was a little long. It can also get noisy inside.

First time at Perilla and liked the meal. I got the veggie pho and I liked the light broth with fresh ingredients. The grilled pork plate with imperial rolls and garlic noodles was pretty good. The garlic noodles were tasty and enjoyed the crispy imperial rolls. Prices are pretty reasonable for all dishes. Very friendly and nice service. They're welcoming to all customers.

Good under the radar Vietnamese place in the sunset for a great price! We were by the beach and decided to come by for a quick dinner. They're super known for their garlic noodle so obviously had to get their with imperial roll and marinated pork. It was delicious and order came really quick. The portion was also huge! Would come back to try their pho.

    Michelle Z.

Quick and friendly service! We were served shortly after ordering and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu! I got the beef & imperial roll w garlic noodles and the noodles were delicious! The beef was also super tender and flavorful. I loved how crispy the imperial rolls were too. It's a huge portion of noodles and not that much beef though. But that was fine w me since I love carbs! They had plenty of space inside when we came in for an early dinner on a Sunday. Would recommend for a casual dinner in the area!

The Inner Sunset is a hub for great Vietnamese food but Yummy Yummy was a name that was thrown around in the conversation as one of the better places to get pho. And it does not dissapoint. Since finding it, my girlfriend and I have been here numerous times and it has been awesome every time. I've so far tried several noodle soup dishes (Pho, Bun Bo hue, peanut noodles soup, mi hoahn thahn) and everything has been great. Their appetizers and non soup based food are also excellent. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu which many places do not. On top of the quality food, service here is exceptional and friendly. So glad I can finally say I have a favorite pho spot in SF.
