Desperately wanting some hot food on this freezing day (and with the microwave at my job on the fritz), I ordered a smoked duck rice bowl from Banhmigos on Seamless. When my food arrived, it was ice cold. I contacted seamless customer service to let them know about the issue and they called the restaurant, who told them that the dish was *supposed* to be served cold. First of all, who wants cold rice and meat? Second, why would you not indicate that this particular rice bowl would be served cold when listed in a menu group entirely comprised of hot items? The seamless rep asked if I would prefer a refund or a re-delivery, and I let them know that since I didn't have time to wait for a redeliver I would prefer a refund. By this point, I had already eaten the cold food, because I had a short lunch break, and had been going back and forth with seamless and the restaurant for over fifteen minutes. THEN the seamless rep told me not to eat the food, because the restaurant would be coming to pick it up before they could issue a refund. What were they planning to do with the picked up food? Probably deliver it cold to another unsuspecting customer. At the end of the conversation, the seamless rep told me that the restaurant wouldn't approve a refund. Everything about this experience was massively disappointing. To top it off, the actual food was bland and uninspiring. If you're going to serve cold duck on cold rice *on purpose* it should at least taste good -- but this did not. Stay away! read more

Now this is how you "bahn mi" - yes I created a new verb. It's a tiny place so yes, as others have noted,it's probably best for takeout. But I was able to grab one of their few seats so I feel fortunate. I wanted to get the pork, but they did not have it available at the time (reason to come back) - so I opted for the chicken. It was great - chicken was cooked very well and had the right level of spice (they ask you how spicy you want it). One of the keys to a good bahn mi is the bread and they delivered. Good tasting and amount of carrots, cucumbers, etc..and of course Sriracha was readily available. read more

The best Bahn Mi that I've had other than Ba Xuyen, and I've had quite a few. Light toasty bread, nicely portioned toppings, and the main ingredient -- roast pork -- wow!!! Super delicious. I am adding this place to my "must go" rotation for Park Slope. read more

Close to the park, we grabbed a couple of traditional bahn mi sandwiches. They are tasty and cheap and quick. You can't go wrong!

Consistently delicious, always get the tofu and never regret it. Great deal at $6.5.

Very solid Bahn and good hot Vietnamese coffee, if a touch too sweet, hence the four instead of five stars. Of course it is supposed to be sweet, this just a but much for me. Your taste might be different. I plan on trying the Phi, which looks promising the next time I am in the hood. read more

I ordered Beef Pho via Grub hub and there was RAW CHICKEN SKIN in my white Vietnamese noodles. It a huge piece that I had to pull out of my mouth. It was absolutely disgusting and I WILL BE SURPRISED IF I DON'T GET SICK. I will never order from this restaurant again. read more

Looks like a mom and pop shop. I only had the first sandwich off their menu: their "traditional" banh mi with slices of ham, ground pork, pate, and pickled carrots for $7.50. The ground pork was interesting, since you don't usually find it in banh mi, but it was damn delicious. There was counter space along the window that seats four people comfortably. The best bahn mi in the neighborhood, hands down. We've tried other bahn mi places in the area and we just end up sorry that we cheated on you, Bahnmigos! The grilled chicken bahn mi is delicious, as is the traditional. Bubble tea is consistently awesome, never too sweet or lacking in flavor. Staff is friendly, wait is reasonable, and punch cards for bubble tea and sandwiches are a great addition for regulars. What more could you ask for? read more

I have eaten at this location once, and it was excellent. Normally, I eat at the Crown Heights location, however, which I think is equally good. The other day, though, I mistakenly ordered online from this one instead of the other -- a big order -- and then went to pick up at the Crown Heights location who, naturally, didn't know what I was talking about. I called these guys to explain my stupidity and they were very friendly and refunded the whole order, even though it was already made, and I just re-purchased from the proper location. I was so surprised and impressed, and of course I feel terrible because they basically just ate the cost of 5 sandwiches because I'm an idiot... But that's what you get. This place is great for a quick bite to eat. There are a few stools by the window which is about it for seating as far as I know. I think they just have salads and sandwiches. The spicy pork sandwich is filling but won't slow you down. It's got a sweet flavor and goes well with the fresh shredded carrot and whatever other veggie that is (i think it's turnip). A regular came in and ordered after me. He seemed pretty excited about the bubble tea so it could be good. The people working are always very friendly. Simple, quick, flavorful and on point. I grabbed a quick grilled pork banh mi. Spice level was perfect. Ratio from meat to veg was perfect. Toasted roll stayed crisp for a whole 30 min drive to my destination. I'll be back to try the others. However the $7.50 tag is kind of hefty for a smaller version of a banh mi you would get at a pho restaurant. But the flavor was on point. read more

Another great addition to the neighborhood! Top notch banh mi here - loved the grilled pork and the grilled chicken. The space is small - just five seats - so it's more of a take-out joint. Delivery is available for a one-mile radius. They're currently having a $1 off discount on the banh mi for their grand opening. Afterwards, they're planning on doing a student discount, I think. It was packed with lots of pickled carrot & daikon, which I love but might be too much for some. The vegetarian chicken was good quality. I've tried three of Park Slopes best Bahn Mi sandwiches and I have to say this will have to be on top! First the service is always friendly and a card to buy 9 sandwiches or drink will get your a free sandwich or drink does not hurt anybody and just another good excuse for me to come back! This may not be the place to hang out like at Hanco's but why would you when two blocks away is the park! Have a picnic with your Bahn Mi and bubble tea and enjoy some sun!!! I have only ordered the Originial and Grilled pork Bahn Mi's and they do not go cheap on the meat and pickled veggies in it. Half the sandwich fills me up and I can eat the other half for my dinner that's how filling this is to a 5'2 petite lady =) The grilled pork is not chewy at all. The bread is not stale tasting at all (yes i've had bread from other bahn mi places there that serves stale bread!). I have to go back and try their spring rolls. In regards to their bubble tea...it only comes in one size for a cold drink. The tapioca pearls are just cooked perfectly! Not too soft or chewy hard at all. It's not overly milky which can get heavy to the stomach after just having half of it. I've had the coffee bubble tea which is strong thai coffee - I like it! and the coconut is okay. does anyone else have random cravings for vietnamese bun (vermicelli noodles)? i've discovered this place recently and have already ate here twice. i've ordered the grilled pork and short rib vermicelli and both were delish. i prefer the grilled pork and will probably be one of my go-to meals when i'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook (which happens quite often) i was also pleasantly surprised by the bubble tea (because yes i also randomly crave bubble tea). the tapioca was cooked to perfection and the tea had great flavor. score! can't wait for my next craving! read more

Use to love this place but the sandwiches got smaller and it's just not as good. I like that they have a whole wheat bread option and that they have different level of spice options. They don't do stamp cards anymore either. The grilled pork is probably the best out of what they have but it's not worth its price. This is not the traditional type of banh mi. I would say it's americanized. Salads are good too but that was a couple years ago. Not sure how it is now. I also tried the traditional banh mi, beef short ribs and portabella mushroom. The mushroom is just plain sad. Not sure how they get away with charging $.750 for that. Won't be back. read more

I've now tried the three main contenders in Park Slope banh mi, and while I had an enjoyable sandwich here, I have to say that Banhmigos is my least favorite. The traditional sandwich was my point of comparison. Bread was nicely crunchy on the outside/soft on the inside, sauce tasty with an appropriate amount of spiciness for the medium, and the size was generous. Pâté, as other reviewers have noted, was hard to detect, and the veggies were downright bad: too much carrot/daikon that was too limp and sweet (needed more bracing pickled flavor) and nowhere near enough cilantro. For my taste, anyway, the mix of ingredients was off, causing the sandwich to miss the sublime porky heights to which the banh mi aspires. In the neighborhood, I'd say that both Hanco's and Lotus (my fave!) come closer to the ideal Vietnamese sandwich. read more

Good flavors, nice bread, but the meat quality was a let-down. The pork in the sandwich was extremely fatty. The short rib in another sandwich was really dry. One piece had a texture on-par with beef jerky. The sandwiches are also somewhat smaller than the typical bahnmi. read more

It got off to a bad start because they didn't receive my online order ("What? We don't have a website...!" upon which I showed the manager, who now has to have a chat with the owner), and then they ran out of roast pork, but their "traditional" may be the best I've ever had. That's not to say it's the best BM sandwich out there but I'm not a fan of the cold cuts, and this one did my taste buds just fine. A bit on the expensive side ($6.50) for these joints but I'd like to go back and try the pork. Food is still amazing. I still live two blocks away. Delivery is still terrible. I don't think its ever less than 40 minutes (usually more). Just got my food after 55 minutes -- store said he left 25 minutes ago and I am literally two blocks away. Its barely lukewarm and soggy now and not nearly as good.
