Arrived at 1pm on a weekday and office was closed. The office staff came back after 2. Seems they should have one of their staff keep the office and store combination open all day. The grass and weeds were way overgrown, the road was in need of repair, the patios were filled with overgrown weeds. Had to get tools out to just turn on water. Poor cable service as most major stations were so snowy, they were hard to see and wifi kept going on and off. Very frustrating. Maintenance definitely needed at this park. They get lots of customers but $45 a night should get you some benefits. This park not up to standards one expects of a KOA. read more

we pulled in after 19:00PST on sunday so main office being closed we mistakenly pulled into the long term parking. Wife had trouble finding after hours envelope so paid next morning ,by AMEXcredit card , because they would not take a chk! Imagine someone trying to pass off paying with a bad check how could that be ?! Ladies' rm would open with 1234 key but not the Mens' ; the lavatory and area, very clean and moderately modernized w /showers. If you re sensitive to noise the distant trains may make you uncomfortable all night. read more

This KOA is decent. Location pretty central to get out and explore Idyllwild, hiking or shop at the outlets. Several restaurants close by if you decide to eat out, which we ended up doing due to the weather. Can't blame them for the wind and rain during our stay. Our only complaint is that they close the office, clubhouse and pool way too early! Your given codes to get into the bathrooms and laundry, so why wouldn't they just give guests the code for the clubhouse to use the pool tables, Fooz ball, etc? They have cameras so we were quite disappointed. Especially when the weather is bad. Faint train noise in the distance which we all liked and felt it was soothing. read more

A lot of improvements over the years of visits, 4 stars in KOA fashion. Sadly, we do not have satellite, in today's HD tech, the cable connect is 1950s in snowy unclear color. The other yelp reviews are new and old with this issue. Stagecoach has not addressed this yet. . Bring your dish and/or dvds. read more

Staff members are friendly and helpful here. Since I have been to couple other KOA locations before that I found this one is not necessarily the best one because they are more geared towards RV folks which I totally understand because of its location in Banning. Bathroom is clean, but definitely not enough when they have a full house on site. They have a small pool, not as big as some other locations have. It is a great stop for those who would like to stay for couple nights in-between CA and AZ, but not really a real "fun" place to go. read more

This is NOT a luxury RV park; however, it is a wonderful RV park. Situated at the foot of the mountains and in a huge field, there are lots and lots shade trees. You can hear cows mowing, roosters crowing. and trains tooting in the distance. The sites are gravel with grass patios. There is a lovely little swimming pool, and a delightful little dog park. There are meeting rooms for club events. Most of all, the staff is friendly and efficient. Also, there is a store within walking distance. My husband and I have stayed here many times in the past two years, and it keeps getting better. Did I mention that the grounds, bathrooms and laundry and very clean? read more

Enjoyed 5 day stay, very clean laundry facilities, nice dog area. Nice quiet stay, did not hear train, markets and other stores driving distance. Minus one star due to no cable modem site, weak wifi. Overall nice camp grounds 50.00 full hookups. read more

RV park has pull-through sites and is very clean. Good satellite, but internet was 1 out of 10. They have ice cream in their little store inside the office. There is a park for children as well as a park for dogs. read more

Enjoyble park. Nice staff, large playground, nice game room. Nice grocery and gift shop. Would be better if there were more trees . Pool was cold and there is no spa. I think a heated pool would a plus to draw more guests. Beautiful views. Will be back with my granddaughter. read more

We camped there last summer. We LOVED it there! The bathrooms were wonderful. Very clean!! I am very particular about the bathrooms. Tha campsites were nice; they had grass. My daughter enjoyed the swimming in the pool. The staff was very friendly. I have always had great expereinces at KOA campgrounds. I have recommended the campground to my friends. read more

Driving to the KOA from I 10 seemed a bit sketchy. Wasn't too impressed with that aspect. We arrived after the office had closed but an envelope with our information was awaiting us. Our spot was shady and wide. No one was on either side of us so the assigning of site locations were perfect. Unfortunately the site was rocky gravel, making it difficult to walk on. There were spent cigarette butts all around our site. The pool and its area was mostly clean, a few weeds in the fence line. The bathrooms were clean but dated. The one soap dispenser was empty and towel dispenser was broken. Shower appeared clean. The dog park area was clean and had toys to play with. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Would probably stay here again. read more

FYI Made a reservation for 3 nights 2 months before our trip. Had to cancel 9 days prior to arrival. According to the KOA website, this should of been a $10.00 charge, but we were told it was a $10.00 per night. For whatever reason the final fee was $20.00 and bought them this review. read more

Stayed here with a group. No air conditioning in the club room (100 degree weather). Group was moved to a smaller club house that had some cooling, could have been better. The cable tv and wi-fi were not working. read more

Our RV club stayed here this weekend. The staff could not be any nicer. I called in advance to see if I could arrive earlier than the 2 p.m. check-in and they were very accommodating. This weekend was exceptionally cold (down to the 30's) and we had rain. The park was full. We enjoyed a campfire in the fire pit provided in our site. The clubhouse for our group was nicely decorated and had all the amenities we needed. There is dog park which allowed our dog to get some exercise. The campground is centrally located. Palm Springs is 22 miles, Idylwild is 17 miles and Oak Glen is also less than 20 miles away. There are antique shops and thrift stores in town to browse thru. The Prime outlet mall is 4 miles away. Lots to do. The park was well maintained. The grounds people were trimming shrubs this weekend. The restrooms were also spotless. I heard the Wi-Fi was spotty, but I didn't use it. The cable TV hook-up worked great. I would definitely go back. The best part is great staff. Some RV parks don't seem to give a damn, but these folks were great. read more

This is not the fanciest place to go camping with the most exotic surroundings, however, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The facility has always been very clean and kept up, it's a great place to get away from the city. Like I said, it's not the fanciest, but I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a friendly, clean get away. read more

A quiet place for a weekend getaway. Staff nice. Store/gift shop quaint. Morongo casino is only a few miles drive. The sound of the trains going up the 1-10 adds a touch of ambiance and I don't find it bothersome. A heated pool would be nice and a bit more grass. Stayed there in September 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nicely laid out and clean, friendly staff, kid friendly. Everything was close by, loved the swimming pool. We brought my 2 year old (then) grandson for his first camping trip and he loved it. We would definitely return to this campground. read more

We stayed at the bannins KOA two times last summer. The staff and camp is wonderful. The only improvement I would recommend would be to get better grass. The crab grass and sand babies were not enjoyable. read more

Stayed here long term for over 2 years. Overall not impressed! Saw many things good and bad. Location is nice, general overall park is nice. Most long term spaces are next to high school ball fields, but noise is not bad. Watch out for foul balls from baseball field! When ball games are going are over before gets too late. Dog park was relocated from old spot, and is nice, (took several months to be completed with old dog park closed about the last 6 weeks of construction) but staff can't seem to keep grass cut without a guest going into the office to complain. Nice but in direct sun, could use shade from sun. Restrooms (men's anyway) are decent but look under the bench in the back shower and floor hasn't been cleaned in many months. Have seen things under it, and some even in the open, that haven't been picked up for over a month! Have been told by cleaning staff that there have been days they didn't clean at all. Did not appear to be many times but did happen! Staff can be friendly but not very helpful! Office hours are posted but are definitely just a suggestion! Sign says open at 8:30am, close at 5:00pm. Some days lucky if open before 9:00am. At one point office was closed from 10:00am to 2:00pm. That got changed to 11:30am to 1:30pm, except 2 days a week closed until 2:00pm? Saw days when office was closed aa early as 10:30am, and saw when didn't open until 2:00pm or 3:00pm. Then go to office to have it closed at 4:00 to 4:30pm. Watched the manager be within 15 ft of the office door, have someone come into park to get a space, walk right past her and she not say a word to them. When KOA Corp brought their trailer to the park they couldn't move fast enough to make it look good. Manager even drove golf cart to show them where their space was. Have never seen that done for anyone before or after. Tried calling the supplied emergency number a few times, never once got an answer, and never afterward did staff ask what had occurred. Maintenance crew is understaffed. Maintenance Lead person is not helpful. Have seen people have problem such as finding their site, watched him drive right past them on the golf cart, and not speak to them or offer help. Get the impression "not his job". Watched numerous projects get started and most get set to the side to start another, and that one to start another, and that one to start another!! Months go by and not finished! Not a horrible experience, but don't expect outstanding! read more

I stayed at the Banning Koa a couple of times this summer. On both occasions all of the parks amenities have been useless. The pool was green, the wifi has been down for who knows how long and the cable has also been down. I was hoping to find a local park for my family that was close enough with the option of great amenities, I guess I will have to continue to look around. Banning really doesn't have much to offer besides hot, windy weather. I'd much rather sit at home if I am going to have nothing more to do than read a book. read more

The pool is not heated but when its 100 degrees its pretty refreshing. There are grass at most sites and a nice playground for the kids. there is a game room with a pool table and ping pong. Right down the street is a first run movie theater at 3.75, and a brand new bowling alley just miles away. My kids and I have went here for many years and find it a great place to have some good family time.. with a great staff. read more

This was a pleasant place to stay in mid-October 2011. We chose it because of its fairly close proximity to Oak Glen, which was our destination. I was pleased that, when we arrived after hours, our site number and map were posted for us to find easily, and they even thought to include the bathroom code. (We find that this detail is often overlooked.) RV sites include hookups and grass, and most are situated under good shade trees. There was also a tent area, and some cabins. The pool was locked (closed for the winter?), but the weather wasn't hot, anyway. The bathroom was somewhat small, but not busy, and VERY clean. There are active RR tracks some distance away, far enough so as not to be bothersome at all (the sound of distant trains is a plus for my children.) There was a grassy, fenced-in pet area that included play equipment for them. There was also a play area for children, although we didn't visit it. I didn't interact with the staff or go into the store. The only downside to our stay was that an employee was snaking the sewer pipe for the site next door (and upwind) from us while we ate breakfast. I'll spare the gross details on that, but I suppose it had to be done and is unlikely to happen to you if you stay there. Bottom line: this KOA is pleasant, not luxurious, and we would stay there again. read more
