Best service, drinks and epic food! It's the elevated neighborhood bar that I've always wanted, great food options, reasonable prices, great selection of alcohol, comfortable- welcoming vibes. And best of all it's open late when the rest of Portland shuts down. I would post amazing photos of the food but I eat it to quickly to take a picture. I'll update the review with some good food! I found the hidden treasure of Portland, and hate to share it but the staff and proprietors need a massive shout out - thank you for providing a fantastic neighborhood bar/restaurant!

Really enjoyed the vibe and their Oxtail Cheesesteak. The bread was nice and toasty on the inside and buttery all around. Packed full of juicy tender oxtail and gooey cheese as well. This one is a must. Their other dishes, unfortunately, were just alright. The Grilled Chicken Wrap had a lot of chicken thigh but it's kinda dry. The naan bread was tough too. Onion rings were burnt and bitter. Their menu is diverse and interesting. We still had a good time though and would like to be back.

First of all, one of my favorite chefs is running this kitchen, and it is not to be missed! Trever Gilbert is turning out amazing food at this jewel box in the alphabet District in Portland. Everything we've had we have loved. His roasted meat salad, the chili carrots, the king salmon, the ribs, and his desserts. All perfection! And the bar program is amazing, as well. Elias is creating magic behind the bar!

Love the service, staff, and ambiance. This place is like my second home. Don't just come here for the dumps! But really, do come for dumpling week. While this dish can be shared, I recommend ordering this for yourself because you'll want to lick that ox tail broth off the plate. The black bean purée pairs so well with the broth, slathering it on the dumpling. With every bite, tasted heavenly. The dumplings were perfectly cooked and wasn't soggy at all, especially if you leave it in that broth to soak. Pair it with a White Rabbit cocktail. It's got a bit of a tangy tart taste if you're into that.

We were looking for a place for dinner that was open late on Friday night, and found this place at a walking distance from where we were staying. Even though Yelp says they are open till 12am, looked like they were open till 1am. We got Jerk Legs, Spam Slammer, Delicata Donuts, and Beer Cheese Mac. We loved the Delicata Donuts, it was so light, and the 2 sauces that came with it were the perfect compliment to the donuts. The Spam Slammer and Beer Cheese Mac were very good, Jerk Legs were good, very tender, could have used a little more flavor, they were much bigger than we expected. This is a place we will definitely be coming back to.

Best bar on 21st Ave, and I do not say so lightly. Open consistent hours (everyday) Outstanding cocktail menu- forever rotating with new amazing options. Service is polite, calm, customer first. Ambiance is always different: staff helps cultivate! Plus they do events. I walked in accidentally today to a fabulous lamb dip French style sando- what a lovely surprise!

Great service and a full bar is the ticket for a night out, happy hour or meet up with pals. Tables spaced comfortably apart to maintain social distancing. They have expanded their outdoor pub and grub area too. We like cod fish and chips, very tasty. Also if you love IPA - Especially Pliney the Elder by Russian River, get on over and get that perfect balanced double IPA. It was on tap the last time I came. Here is a tidbit, Pliney the Elder is made by Russian River owner, Vinny, who is considered the father of the double IPA. He paved the way for others. Kudos to Bantam for putting Pliney on the tap lineup. Hey bartender, see if you can get some Pliney the Younger, a triple IPA. Vinny makes it one time per year and it lasts one day where some pubs are lucky to get it. In Santa Rosa at Vinny's pub, the line starts at midnight. Cheers and beers!

I don't remember if this was a Farmhouse, saison, or sour of some sort but it was good.

I've been to Bantam twice now and had good experiences each time. There's street parking or a small lot next door that is shared with at least Swagat. There's a nice looking fire pit area outside but I think it's uncovered. It was occupied when I went so I sat at the bar. The rest of the room is cozy, small with fairly dim lighting. The music was unobtrusive. The bartender was friendly and not too obviously annoyed that he got caught in my pic of the liquor selection. While I don't remember now what sort of beer I ordered; a farmhouse, sour, or saison, it was good. The oxtail Philly cheesesteak was delicious. With cheesesteaks, so much is about the bread and this was appropriately soft on the inside with a reasonable amount of crispiness on the outside, so it didn't mush or crumble but held the fillings well. I'd love to return with friends sometime and share some small plates. The crab bisque and mushroom soup also look tasty.

Aspen greets me like an old friend, a happy welcome into an expansive, ethereal space that feels more like LA than (perennially in the 90s) Portland. Low lounge & hi-top tables surround an open-air kitchen - transparency in the atmosphere as well as their "nose-to-tail" cooking techniques. The bar is long and dotted with glowing agate votives, vines extending down over a broad selection of booze (whisky & bourbon by style, including Japanese). One menu offers cheeky cocktails, mocktails, and a wide variety of Willamette bottles + a broad selection of European & South American wines. Another menu presents Cold dishes/RAW bar/Small Plates & Larger (sharing recommended). First course is a bluefin TUNA SASHIMI (butchered in-house with absolute precision) alongside a Serrano black sugar tamari (RIDICULOUS blend of salty/umami/spicy/sweet and smartly balanced by THICK-cut servings of tuna & chutoro (3x3). The fresh fish shines, as does explosive flavor in the sauce. Brilliant, bravo! Second, bartender recommends a house-favorite DUMPLING - this is one like never before, blending Linguiça (a Portuguese sausage), leeks, and cabbage that has a familiar texture within tissue-thin rice dumplings, but completely original umami, especially paired with the Japanese curry. It's wholesome and comforting, not too filling, and entirely new. THIRD if I MAE (pronunciation, questionable) - LAMB SPARE RIBS in a heaping portion with sweet/spicy tamarind sticky sauce that's barely reminiscent of BBQ, a perfect counter-balance to fatty, slightly gamey lamb. It's the cilantro herb salad on top & green olive tapenade that make it sing - textures and flavors are exotic, playful, herbal & funky (in a good way) all at once. Whether you're seeking a hot date night, a special staycation (right here in the Historic Arts District), or hosting a board meeting, there is space and plenty of taste for all, with a refinement in technique characteristic of larger cities. A sweet and savory reminder that family is a state of mind, and we're all connected for better or worse.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

There are a few dining tables inside if you're planning to have a meal as well. The bartender was incredibly friendly and took the time to chat with me after I asked for a few recommendations. The drinks were excellent, well-balanced, flavorful, and actually tasted like proper cocktails instead of just juice. They definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol either! I'm really glad I chose this place to celebrate. It ended up being the perfect spot for the occasion.
