I didn't want to post a review that says "the food sucks, the service is awful, don't waste your money" without explaining why. If that's all you need though to keep you away from this place then read no further and I hope I saved you an unpleasant dining experience. But if you want to know more, please continue reading.... I went here last week for dinner for the 1st (and last) time. The server/waitress who greeted us was not friendly or polite. In fact, I would go so far as to say she seemed irritated we were there. We were both wearing masks by the way, my dinner guest and I. She seated us at an empty table (no utensils, condiments, napkins etc) and immediately asked for our drink order. We had to ask her for a menu? We ordered a hot green tea and a Japanese beer. The hot green tea was served in a lg metal pot with 1 tea bag. So it was basically just hot clear water. I had to ask for a 2nd tea bag, which took a while for her to bring over. She quickly took our food order (appetizers were Shrimp Tempura and Gyoza (fried dumplings) and we both ordered Yaki Udon Stir Fried Noodles for dinner (1 shrimp 1 chicken). That was pretty much the last time we saw her or she came to the table....besides bringing us our food which took forever to come out. She never asked if we wanted refills, she never cleared off dirty dishes from the appetizers, she never asked how everything was or if we needed anything. We had to flag her down just to get utensils after our food was served. We were served "Banzai Soup" (I guess it comes with any dinner) which was a small bowl of hot water with a paper thin sliver of mushroom floating in it and 3 ramen style noodles sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I wish I was being overly dramatic here or exaggerating, but I'm not. The "broth" had zero flavor and was clear so I can only assume it was just hot water. I don't know how on EARTH they were able to slice a mushroom that thin, you could see through it...so my hats off to whoever is prepping in their kitchen, those are some impressive knife skills! I think it was the 3 lonely noodles sitting on the bottom of the bowl that actually made me laugh out loud as I sipped it. Needless to say, we did not finish the Banzai Soup. The Tempura Shrimp was "ok" but not great. It was 4 medium sized shrimps on a wooden skewer, deep fried. It was not Panko breading, which I was expecting and it was on the greasy side. The Gyoza were over cooked and charred on the outside and the filling on the inside of the dumplings had long ago made it's escape into the deep fryer so it was like eating super over cooked/borderline burned dumplings with no filling. The "dipping sauce" they provided with the Gyoza was just soy sauce. The Yaki Udon Stir Fried Noodles were inedible. The noodles were overcooked to the point they were mushy and turned into paste as soon as you put them in your mouth. The sauce it was stir fried in had no flavor (even though it was brown) and the mixed veggies that came stir fried in the dish were soggy and bland and cut into large chunks (just not very appetizing). It was also greasy and I've never had an Asian stir fry that included large chunks of Zucchini, which this had. Our bill was $79..so you can imagine how thrilled we were. To recap, the here food sucks, the service is awful, don't waste your money...there are a plenty of other Asian places to eat at in LaGrange or in nearby Newnan or Columbus that are well worth your money and time! Read all the reviews and then called them. I read the review about how they made a huge turn around so we thought we should try them. After being seated right away could not believe how long we had to wait for a cook. Appears to only have one cook as we sat for over an hour and there was only one other table waiting before us. The cook didnt season a single thing. The rice was bland and the steak was bland. He did a few things we haven't see before also added a lot of eggs to the rice so that was nice. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated and then was told that it would be another hour or so before we would even be served. On top of that, while we were waiting to be seated we tried to order drinks at the bar and we were told that we could not order drinks until we were at a table. I grew up on Banzai in good ole Lagrange, GA. It is truly your typical hibachi grill with "Japanese Cowboy", flaming volcano (onion), and two pieces of mushroom chicken broth soup. Soup came out right away, very flavorful. I am from farther north and typically the soup is very bland. The salad came out with an unrecognized dressing. It was their house dressing, creamy white or something? Idk, had never heard of it and they didn't have my typical ranch or ginger. It was okay, had a tad oniony taste to it. Food came out shortly after my salad (and was hot!) and it was nicely presented. Steak was a perfect medium well, shrimp was 1-2 min over done (but u know I still ate it ;-). Plate came with a lot of rice (delicious), a small amount of zucchini and onions (still deliciously crunchy) and some cooked shredded cabbage. They did have ginger sauce and some kinda mustard sauce (yucky), I actually tried some of the house dressing on everything was pretty tasty. Myself and two other employees went here to grab a bite to eat after work. It was a Tuesday evening at about 530. The restaurant was about half full, but we were still told that it would be 15 to 20 minutes to get a table. No big deal. We waited patiently and eventually get seated. After another 10 minutes goes by without anyone greeting us, or saying I'll be with you in just a moment, or even bringing us some complementary water, we just decided to get up and leave to find another restaurant that would want to take our money. I looked around at the faces of the people also sitting at tables , and they looked miserable like they had been sitting there a long time with no food or service to speak of. Only saw two employees the 25-30 minutes we were there waiting. Don't waste your time or money. This restaurant is a waste of money! I ate dinner there Friday, January 22, 2016 with a group of employees. When we first entered the store we notice it was slightly warmer then then temperature outside (Low 50's). Their heating system was broken and didn't seem to be a priority for them to fix since it has been broken for a while. The restaurant is under new management, which hasn't helped to solve their problems. They lost there **Liqueur License**. After waiting for 20 minutes to be seated. Half of the table that was sitting with us left b/c the store lost their liqueur license and had no heat in the building. We waited 40 minutes after being seated at the table to have our chief come out and start cooking. The food was F-. It had no flavor. Once we left, less then an hour later everyone that ate with us began feeling sick. We then spent most of the night staying near a bathroom. We will never be back!
