Great first visit. Won't be our last. Have considered this restaurant a couple of times and the ad on Instagram got us in the door today. We ordered 2 family packs not knowing how much food it would be. For a family of 4 (9 and 12 yo kids) one would have been just right. Everything we had was good and the buns are large. The pork buns have sort of a meatball inside. They are plain on top. The brisket is shredded and a little spicy. There is a bit of spicy seasoning on top. The regular chicken has sesame seeds on top and chopped in a brown sauce with a little onion. The buffalo chicken was shredded and has a little orange mark (almost looks like a single piece of grated cheese). I liked the brisket best but all were good. The pickles were good if you like fresh made sweet pickles. The fries with the five spice seasoning were cooked just right for crinkle cut fries and the fry sauce was the star of the show. It had 5 spice powder in it, too. The milk tea was good. I'd get more than the normal amount of ice next time. It's price is in line with everywhere else ($4-$5 each). We ordered in store on the kiosk. The wait was ok, but now we know to order ahead next time. They're not open for dine-in (smart!). read more

The bao zi exceeded my expectations, which to be honest, were very low. But i was clearly corrected after taking the first bite into the pork bao. The filling was juicy and flavored just the way I remembered growing up with. The dough was super soft and tad sweet. That said, I wasn't a huge fan of the Gua bao. I think they tried to do too much with them. Traditional gua bao has just a few flavors and isn't jam packed with ingredients. The pork belly was way too large. The perfect pork belly gua bao is simple, and you're able to taste all ingredients in every bite. The pork belly should melt in your mouth too. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Stopped in for a late dinner with friends. This place is cute! Seems like a fun place to grab boba and hang out. I got one juicy pork bao. The bao was good, can't complain. The pork filling was flavorful, but not particularly juicy. Just seemed like a regular meatball. The main reason for the two stars is the awful, awful ramen. The beef broth tasted like it came straight from a store bought carton - so salty and yet flavorless. The "marinated egg" was...hard boiled. So disappointing - the soft boiled egg is my favorite thing in a bowl of ramen. And it didn't taste marinated, it tasted like an egg. That had been peeled and sitting in soy sauce just long enough to change color. The bowl was topped with a few leaves of raw spinach. And that was it! The only saving grace was the noodles, and even those seemed like dried noodles from the store. Should I have known better than to order ramen at a place that focuses on bao and boba? Probably. Finally a great place to get this brand of Asian food. Buns, bao, and milk tea. Sign me up. The best things I've tried here are the egg bun, brisket bun, chicken karage, and matcha. I like the fries too! I like doing the sampler so you can get a mix of things... plenty of food even for a hungry Texan such as myself. The ordering system is a little different from the norm but fine once you get used to it. I'd recommend getting the app and ordering ahead of time to avoid their kiosks and just pickup your stuff from the bao "amazon locker" when you arrive. I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is by far one of the best Asian fusion foods I've ever had! They know how to make heavy pork, balance with light crisp cucumber. This place never disappoints. Everything we've tried, we love. If you like steamed buns you got to try this place! The juicy pork bao is my favorite. The BBQ chicken pan-seared bao is a close second. I feel you can't go wrong. great prices. the baos are pretty decent sized too. You can get full off of 1 or 2. 3 baos was a little too much to eat in one sitting. The only con, (and I still will not doc a star) when I called to ask about subbing one of the 3 meat pan-seared baos (that has cheese, because I am lactose intolerant) I was told to leave a note and that they would substitute one for me, but when I got home they did not. Maybe I didn't make it completely clear, I just noted I cannot have cheese, I should have noted that my body doesn't allow me to have it. Since I got an extra bao I wasn't too disappointed and got full on 2.5 baos. The way this place is set up is great for covid regulations. Complete no contact pick up and ordering. Not gonna lie, the worst bubble tea I've had in awhile. We ordered the Stawberry Green Tea and the matcha cream tea. The Strawberry Green Tea was warm and extremely sweet. Tasted very artificial. I was not a fan at all. The matcha tasted like straight milk. I went back and politely asked them to add more Matcha, which they did so willingly after a comment about that's how the drink was supposed to be because of the half and half? I order this drink often at other establishments and it is never like that. Anyway, even after adding the extra matcha I could not drink it and ended up throwing it in the trash. :( That being said, I give two stars because they had food, which we did not order, but it did look delicious! So the bubble tea was a very small part of what this establishment does. And the staff was nice enough. Moral of the story: don't go just for the bubble tea. Lol read more

Upon arriving at our event a half hour's drive away, we discovered that the main entrees had been left out! After calling, they found the entrees sitting in the kitchen. They generously offered that we could drive an hour back and forth to pick up the items. We were unable to do this since the event had already started. We had to scramble to order replacement food at extra expense and hassle. They offered sympathies but no tangible acknowledgment of their screwup. Bao place with Boba?? Yes plz!! Got their combo for less than $8. Brisket bao, pork belly bao and fried chicken. You can customize it with what you want. It's not bad.... but also not great. I was hoping their katsu chicken would be crispier and doesn't taste like it been sitting out for a while. It was meh. Brisket bao has a bit of a kick and that was interesting. Pork belly was chewy and unforgettable. Everything is on a sweeter end. Boba tea was decent. All in all.... I'll give it another try when they work out the kinks. This is a good place for an affordable treat! I stopped by here while trying to quickly finish my Christmas shopping. I grabbed my food and ate in the car. I haven't seen another place with COVID protocols like this. You order at the kiosk near the entrance, and it prints your receipt (or order online if you have the foresight, I think that gives you a QR Code), wait for your name to be called, scan the barcode on your receipt and a locker opens up with your bag of food in it! I never got within 6' of anyone except some other customers coming in to pick up their orders and go. This is a brilliant set up, their indoor seating was closed, obviously. I really appreciate a place taking this pandemic very seriously. Now for the food, the veggie options are limited, but the veggie bun is good! The Szechuan French fries were the star of the show, really tasty. The dan dan noodles with braised beef were SO salty that I threw about 2/3rds of my order in the trash, inedible. The bbq bao buns were okay, but the bbq was a little too sweet leaning for my tastes, but I bet some people would really like them, just not for me. The sweet custard bao was good, the bao buns are so fluffy and they're huge! My wife said her beef noodle dish was heavily salted as well and didn't finish either. This place has really good drinks and is about 90% consistent which is way better than most other Boba places. They have changed the menu and food preparations many times and it gets worse every time. It's not the kitchen's fault, it's whoever makes the decisions above them. I'll start with the good 'We ordered at the kiosk inside , My wife had braised tofu bun meal, it was good we both liked it.Now to the bad ,I got highest spicy level dandan noodle bowl and I received braised beef noodle and the broth was cool gas station quality. My wifes order was wrong the first time she got braised beef instead of tofu and the nutella bao bun she ordered was red bean paste not nutella, we were gone at this point and she just threw it away because she said it tasted odd(she has had red beanpaste bao bun before too).So they messed up every aspect of our order from a printed receipt that stated everything clearly. I used to love Bao'd Up and had been here several times. They used to have the best Bao's, very large, super juicy and delicious. However, when I went today, I noticed the menu had changed but anyways, I got the same 2x Juicy Pork Buns that I used to love. Except this time they were horrible. They were WAY smaller (like half the size) - which is okay by itself, but the real issue was that there was basically no meat. It was 97% bread. Super disappointed. I probably won't be going back. Would not recommend at all they have long wait times, staff is not friendly or interactive at all, looks like they get bothered when customers come up to ask questions. Bao'd Up offers such a unique and very affordable dining experience that I highly recommend checking it out often. The food is fantastic (I highly recommend the brisket bao and the Dan Dan noodles!) but the entire restaurant is glamorously efficient! They were even doing social distancing before it was cool! To place an order, walk up to any of the tablets at the front of the shop and pick what you'd like from their carefully crafted menu. Once ordered, you'll receive an order number on your receipt. A screen near the back of the shop by a locker system will tell you the status of your order. When your order is ready, just type in the order number into the locker system's screen and open the door! This system is efficient whether you want to eat in shop or pick up and is overall a great experience! read more

Oh man I was hoping for so much since I keep seeing great reviews on door dash and Uber eats...however when the food came I was really let down. I have to say the tea was amazing and I love that you can customize your drink that way and the pork and bun weren't bad. But it definitely was not up to par with most Bao I have had and the French fries were just a sad addition. Overall my lunch was just a bit boring on a crazy Friday when I could have used some amazing food to make the day less stressful. I would maybe try again at another location. read more
