    Strawberry milk tea

I love boba tea! This was the first time trying Gong Cha, and it did not disappoint I ordered 3 drinks online for pickup, so I can not rate the store itself or staff/customer service. Fantastic ordering process! I live that you can choose your sugar level, I chose 30%, which was perfect! I also love that you can choose your ice level preference. A lot of thought went into their creative ordering options! The menu isn't large but still has a lot of different combinations of drinks with flavors plus jelly or boba options. The flavor overall was great. This location is near my work and not my home, but I look forward to trying them again!

Even asked the girl if there was oat milk in it but y is it so dark???

Ummmmm what is this? Probably the worst matcha latte boba I've ever had... she asked what kind of milk I wanted I said oat milk... when my drink was ready I looked at in and was like hmmm are you sure there's oat milk in this? Bc why is it so dark? I've been to gong chas in Cali and New York and was not expecting this...

We stopped in Tong Cha for the second time yesterday. The first time we did not stay because my husband only likes fruit tea which they do not have. I came back yesterday as we were out shopping in the area. I had a Matcha with Boba and my daughter had strawberry milk with Boba. I really liked my Matcha as they were able to make it with oat milk and add some sweetness. I felt the price and taste was comparable to other Boba tea but in a new and convenient location.

We came the other day after school as a treat. I remember being in this shopping center plenty of times waiting for it to open and I am glad I it finally was. They had a variety of menu items, but I kept it simple and got the Passion Yogurt Slush in Medium. I didn't know what to expect but I wasn't disappointed. I got mine in standard sweet because that is how I roll. My daughter got the same one but added the milk foam on top. She didn't care for the foam and I'm not going to lie neither was it. Since we did go after school, I will say that it picked up really fast. Even though there were 2 people working, you didn't wait long from the time you ordered, and they called your name. They have a couple of tables and benches for you to sit at while you wait, or you can stand you decide. The cashier was really helpful since it was our first time and we will be back.

Gong Cha is my new favorite tea shop in South Austin. Originally from Taiwan, this tea shop has so many varieties of milk tea, slushies, coffee, and tea lattes. It also is stocked with different toppings - you can try the common tapioca pearls or mango popping boba, but they also offer Oreo crumbs, basil seeds, jellies, pudding, milk foam, and white pearls. My favorite drink is their strawberry milk tea with pearls at 50% sweetness. The 50% sweetness level is the perfect amount of sugar without being too sweet, and the strawberry flavor even has little pieces of strawberries in it. Pro tip: you can also order online for a quick pick up.

My girlfriend introduced me to this place and I am so glad she did. There was a while where boba was losing my interest but this place has reestablished my love for it. The Peach green tea with mango popping boba is what I got most recently and I typically get some variation of this when I go. The quality and taste of the fruit tea is really great. I can say that this is definitely the best tasting fruit boba I have had. What I really like is the tea flavor actually shines through opposed to just tasting sweet. It is very balanced and the boba is a good size and delicious. I haven't even tried milk teas which are normally a go to for me because the fruit tea is that good! Only reason I give 4 stars is because it is pricey, with a price for a drink being above $7 after tax which is pretty absurd. If they brought the price down my girlfriend and I would frequent far more often. Inside is small, modern and clean. Not really a place to sit and drink in my opinion. Not a ton of warmth or atmosphere and not much seating either so more of a grab and go spot which I believe is what they want. Staff is kind and attentive and the consistency on orders is great!

Love to see a boba spot pop up in southwest Austin! I don't really have a refined taste for boba but I'm just excited to see some Asian businesses popping up in the area. Overall the place was new and clean and the service was friendly. There was a short line of people but the place wasn't too crowded. We got the peach boba with coconut jelly at 30% sweetness. That was even too sweet for us so I'd probably just get a regular milk tea with boba next time. That's what I'd recommend for most people that haven't had boba before.

The fruit tea is so delicious !! I typically go for mango, peach, or passion fruit green tea. I love that they use green tea instead of black, it compliments the fruitiness better. This time around I got the large peach iced green tea with mango popping boba. This is a drink that I crave from time to time and gongcha does a great job at fulfilling that craving. The service is normally quick, efficient and friendly. My reason for deducting is star is that the tea is expensive compared to neighboring boba tea joints. It's about $7 each time, which is about $1-2 more than the average price for boba tea. In addition, the inside is nice and clean but only set up for a grab and go situation. There are very few tables and chairs. It would be nice to have an inviting interior to allow customers to sit and enjoy tea with a friend. Other than that, I would recommend gongcha for their variety of flavors!

Came here last night with my boyfriend for a sweet treat and it was just what we needed! We visited many Gong Chas around Austin so we wanted to check out this location. I ordered the strawberry green tea with coconut jelly and he ordered the earl grey with 3Js milk tea. The drinks were super good- just like the other locations! And the service was extremely fast- we got our drinks within three minutes of ordering! It is located in a convenient plaza with many restaurants nearby- so we will be back!

There are so many bad matcha spots in Austin that it makes you truly appreciate the places that do it right. The menu is simple and short. Hand whisked with traditional tools, this matcha might be a bit pricey but it's worth it. Some notable things I liked: - the hojicha is surprisingly better than their matcha, but their matcha is still good. I normally never prefer hojicha so it surprised me a lot. - when I asked for less sweetness, it actually was less sweet. You would think that isn't surprising, but so many places still drown it in sugar. I appreciate that it's not like that here. - the wait was almost an hour for one of the first weekends they opened. It's like that for everything in Austin now though - it is so hot in there lol - the service is mindful and whoever wrote on our labels that day has gorgeous handwriting????? Overall the best matcha place in Austin. Don't skip, but it would be good if this place had a more permanent situation so we can look forward to a new wave of tea in Austin.

The space itself is definitely on the smaller side with only a few tables, but the ambiance is thoughtfully designed in a way that somehow makes the whole place feel cheerful, cozy, and welcoming instead of cramped. I ordered what I believe was a taro milk tea with almond milk and extra boba, lightly sweetened. The drink came out smooth, creamy, and balanced without becoming overly sugary. The boba had the right texture too - soft and chewy without turning mushy. You can tell they actually care about the drinks instead of just assembling them as fast as possible. The cashier was genuinely funny and friendly, which honestly adds more to a quick stop like this than people realize. Service was fast, parking was easy, and the menu had plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. This isn't really a "hang out for 4 hours and study" kind of boba place because the seating is limited, but for a quick stop, grab-and-go drink, or casual catch-up, it works really well. The surrounding area is still developing so there aren't crazy views or anything, but during sunrise or sunset the light coming through the windows actually gives the place a pretty nice vibe. Small shop, good energy, solid drinks, easy parking. I'll definitely be back.

The place was SUPER crowded when we arrived, but the line moved surprisingly fast, and there was even a kiosk to self-order if you didn't want to wait for cashier checkout. Efficiency aside, one of my favorite things was honestly the smell of the space. While waiting for our drinks, there was this fragrant tea aroma lingering in the air--you could genuinely smell the tea despite all the cream, milk, and sweetness floating around. As a tea lover, that immediately won me over. The place was also exceptionally clean despite how busy it was. I kept noticing employees consistently wiping things down and cleaning as they worked, which weirdly made me trust the sanitation here even more. And can we talk about the drink design? These drinks are SO cute. The intentional sticker placement over the lips, the little carrying handle--everything felt carefully stylized. You could tell they weren't just trying to make something flavorful, but something memorable and visually fun. I never thought I'd say a drink was Instagram-worthy, but these felt like the supermodels of the boba world. Even the receipt paper somehow felt luxurious (yes, I'm seriously mentioning receipt paper in a boba review). That tiny detail made me realize how intentional every aspect of this place feels. Nothing here felt accidental. Dong Ding Oolong Tea w. Fresh Milk - Very mild and creamy, almost like a mellow latte. Not my personal favorite, only because I had eaten way too much creamy food beforehand, but I genuinely loved the tea profile here and could absolutely see why others would adore this drink. High Mountain Pouchong Tea w. Lemon Juice & Mousse (Creamy Lemon Tart) - After all the sugar I had earlier in the day, this absolutely HIT the spot. The tartness was perfect and super refreshing. The cream had little bits of lemon zest mixed in, adding even more citrus aroma and making the drink feel brighter overall. I also tried adjusting the sweetness while ordering and was told it had built-in sweetness--but they reassured me that if it ended up too sweet, they'd gladly swap it for another drink. I genuinely felt like I was dealing with Amazon's generous return policy. Thankfully, no return was needed because this drink was perfect. Creamy Mango Tart - Literally the Lemon Tart, but mango. I loved this just as much. Both tart drinks felt refreshing and balanced, and instantly became fan favorites for us. Overview--I love, love, LOVE this place. Like... 1000/10 levels of love. From the experience to the drink quality to the sheer intentionality behind every detail, I couldn't be happier with this visit. I'm also ridiculously happy to hear one recently opened in Houston because I would LOVE to bring my cousins here someday. Would go back in a heartbeat--this has officially won the spot for my favorite boba place.
