I recently spotted the Tea Cup Boba House when picking up some food nearby and knew I had to try it. They have a scale at the register you can reference for how sweet you want the drink. I ordered my taro milk tea with boba at 75%, which is the suggested, but I think next time I'll go with 50% because it was still a little too sweet for me. Otherwise, the drink flavor and boba were really good. The employee was kind too. Definitely check out this boba spot!

I really enjoyed the boba milk tea here. It was just slightly sweet, very smooth, and pleasant to drink, I finished it with real enjoyment. The boba itself was great too, nice texture and good flavor. My order was prepared very quickly, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, the place feels nice, and most importantly, the drinks are genuinely good. I'd definitely come back for another one

This is a clean and minimal boba place in a small area with easy parking. When we stopped by, there wasn't anybody in, so we tried the coconut taro milk tea with boba and the black milk tea with boba. The boba was some of the best-textured boba that I've had. The coconut was powerful in the taro milk tea (the taro could have been more pronounced) but it was a delicious drink nonetheless. The bobarista put in the perfect amount of light ice as requested and the drinks were the perfect sweetness at 50% for my taste. If I'm in the area I'd stop by again for a little boba milk tea treat.

If you live in Southeast Austin, you already know as soon as a new business enters the ring, you're hoping it'll be something worthwhile. As far as bubble teas go, there aren't many that's 1) below the river 2) actually really good 3) not a chain. I'm big on supporting local, small businesses, so when I found out there would be a bubble teashop less than 10 mins away from my house, I anxiously waited. It's been three weeks since this business has opened and I can proudly testify, ADD THIS ONE TO YOUR LIST! Tea Cup Boba House is owned by a sweet and shy Cambodian couple who work the front and currently have no other employees. If it gets busy, be patient! Tea Cup Boba House offers a variety of teas and unique sinkers to the southeast Austin area. If you aren't a tea fan, it may not be your cup of tea (lol). However, for me, it's what I enjoyed the most. I love how strong the teas are! The cream to tea ratio is perfectly balanced, and if you add on the bobas, they add a nice touch to the drink. The bobas are tender and lightly sweetened. The decor here is clean with a modern bohemian touch, however, there isn't much seating. Definitely order and take away.

The boba tea is awesome! I had a taro milk boba tea and my daughter had the black/milk tea with boba. I later wished I had ordered my husband's pick which was the Mango Lychee Smoothie with boba!! I'm so glad its close to home. Its designed really cute inside, as well. The service was great!

Love having a new quality boba spot in SE Austin! Huge menu and really cute inside area with tables and chairs. Have something for everyone but really enjoyed the strawberry milk tea with boba. Staff was really friendly and quick with orders. Will be back to try more

Super simple and cute Boba place! They have a few games available to play while you wait for your drink. I ordered the Taro Coconut milk Tea at 50% sweetness and it was the perfect balance! We also order a Hot Matcha at 25% sweetness that hit the spot for this cold weather! Definitely check this place out! We usually go by Ranch 99 for boba but we're glad we found something closer to the house just as good Enjoy! The service was nice and the drinks were delicious.

I'm new to boba drinks. This place has it all! They have great customer service and fast. They have the perfect location too! I had to try the Thai milk tea with 20% sweetness to it. It was smooth and perfect!! I plan on trying a new one every week!

I'm so glad to have a boba place in my area! It's a small boba cafe in the corner of a plaza (the Mexican restaurant next door is worth checking out too), but the interior is cute and the workers were very nice. The drinks were a little pricey, it was a little above $14 for two drinks with one topping each, but the quality of the drinks were good and didn't taste syrupy or overly sweet at 25% which is usually my biggest peeve of most boba places. I really liked the passion fruit tea I ordered. This will be my new go to boba place and I hope this area continues to open new eats.

The staff were friendly when we got our drinks, but the exchange was brief. The space, though, is super Instagrammable with lots of playful decor. Parking is a little tight out front, with some extra spots along the side street. I ordered the crème brûlée taro milk tea with boba, and my husband got the regular crème brûlée milk tea with boba. Flavor-wise it was good, but my drink had a lot happening texture-wise. Between the crystallized sugar, grainy taro, and boba, it caught me by surprise. Once everything was mixed together, it was fine, just not my favorite. Still a fun spot with creative drinks, and I'd be open to trying something else next time!

Even so, the ambience seems like the decorations were cute, but very cheap and damaged overtime with little to no repairs. But I didn't come here for aesthetics. I came here for great Boba tea and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. The soufflé pancakes were fine, but the ice cream was terrible on that too. It's hard to mess up Ice Cream, but somehow they managed.

I don't think I've ever walked into a boba shop and immediately thought, "wow, this feels like an…read moreexperience," but here we are. The place was SUPER crowded when we arrived, but the line moved surprisingly fast, and there was even a kiosk to self-order if you didn't want to wait for cashier checkout. Efficiency aside, one of my favorite things was honestly the smell of the space. While waiting for our drinks, there was this fragrant tea aroma lingering in the air--you could genuinely smell the tea despite all the cream, milk, and sweetness floating around. As a tea lover, that immediately won me over. The place was also exceptionally clean despite how busy it was. I kept noticing employees consistently wiping things down and cleaning as they worked, which weirdly made me trust the sanitation here even more. And can we talk about the drink design? These drinks are SO cute. The intentional sticker placement over the lips, the little carrying handle--everything felt carefully stylized. You could tell they weren't just trying to make something flavorful, but something memorable and visually fun. I never thought I'd say a drink was Instagram-worthy, but these felt like the supermodels of the boba world. Even the receipt paper somehow felt luxurious (yes, I'm seriously mentioning receipt paper in a boba review). That tiny detail made me realize how intentional every aspect of this place feels. Nothing here felt accidental. Dong Ding Oolong Tea w. Fresh Milk - Very mild and creamy, almost like a mellow latte. Not my personal favorite, only because I had eaten way too much creamy food beforehand, but I genuinely loved the tea profile here and could absolutely see why others would adore this drink. High Mountain Pouchong Tea w. Lemon Juice & Mousse (Creamy Lemon Tart) - After all the sugar I had earlier in the day, this absolutely HIT the spot. The tartness was perfect and super refreshing. The cream had little bits of lemon zest mixed in, adding even more citrus aroma and making the drink feel brighter overall. I also tried adjusting the sweetness while ordering and was told it had built-in sweetness--but they reassured me that if it ended up too sweet, they'd gladly swap it for another drink. I genuinely felt like I was dealing with Amazon's generous return policy. Thankfully, no return was needed because this drink was perfect. Creamy Mango Tart - Literally the Lemon Tart, but mango. I loved this just as much. Both tart drinks felt refreshing and balanced, and instantly became fan favorites for us. Overview--I love, love, LOVE this place. Like... 1000/10 levels of love. From the experience to the drink quality to the sheer intentionality behind every detail, I couldn't be happier with this visit. I'm also ridiculously happy to hear one recently opened in Houston because I would LOVE to bring my cousins here someday. Would go back in a heartbeat--this has officially won the spot for my favorite boba place.

The honey tea latte was great too, it was light and refreshing. The drinks took about 15 minutes to come out, which is perfectly okay, because they actually brew the tea instead of using a pre-made powder mix like most boba shops. I appreciate the cashier letting us smell all the different teas and giving us helpful recommendations. We will be back for sure!
