I was in the area from Huntington Beach and saw the "A" and thought this will be my reward after my dentist appoint with Baseline Dental, Dr. Buck another great experience. Anyway, I got out of my car and the aroma of seasoned grilled carne asada permiated the air. I thought to myself, please let the be coming from this location! It did not disapoint! Damen working the counter was very engaging and friendly, I let him know I was their from Huntington Beach and I was treating myself post dentist appointment. I ordered a carne asad street taco $3.50 and AMAZING! guac and chips again AMAZING, mild green salsa, which to me is like a tamatillo salsa lots of onions and fresh cilantro and lime flavoring! Off The Hook! I ran out of chips and drank some of what was left LOL! medium salsa, again AMAZING FLAVORS AND SUPER FRESH! Paired with a super sweet and yummy Root Beer. I ate it up and then traveled the 1.5 hours back to Huntington Beach, had to stop for a coma nap, and get a Starbucks. I am so bummed this AMAZING CAFE is so far away from where I live. This place has been on my list for way too long. Every time I remember about this place it's on a Sunday lol ( it's closed on Sundays lol) My birthday fell on a Tuesday and my sister wanted to take me somewhere I haven't been. So I was quick to pick this place. I have never had a puffy taco in my life. After having these tacos, I want my tacos like this alllll the time lol. It amazed me how fluffy and lightly crispy they were but sturdy to hold all the stuff...perfection. I am very picky and judgy when it comes to rice and beans... and they passed with flying colors. Everything was sooooo good. The carnitas tacos were ok , I don't know what kind of oil is used but it gave a different taste that I'm not used to when eating carnitas. But the asada in the puffy tacos was sooo tasty. The inside was cute and clean. My only thing that kept crossing my mind as I was eating.... It was so quiet that I can hear other ppl eating. They had a tv on the cooking channel but no volume. Studies have shown that when there's music being played ( doesn't need to be blasting) make your food experience better. Maybe put some 80's or even Mexican music on . Or use the tv to put on a music video station. Just food for thought. I will definitely be back, just not on Sunday lol read more

Visited this location for the first time on Thursday, and we were immediately greeted upon arrival. We ordered two asada fat burritos, one regular asada burrito, and asada nachos. The fat burritos are a bit on the pricey side, but they are definitely worth it! The meat was well-seasoned, and we will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. I tried the puffy tacos and they were excellent, crispy, flavorful, and clearly made fresh. Everything tasted well prepared and satisfying without feeling heavy in a bad way. The restaurant itself was spotless, which always makes a good first impression, and the service was incredibly friendly throughout my visit. What a quaint and special shop! I've never had anything like their puffy taco, and it was really good! I got the Al Pastor with everything on it, and man, there's something about the airy crisp of the taco shell that just itches a nice spot between a soft street taco, and crunchy hard shell taco. The cashier was super nice, and you could tell there are regulars just based on the conversations and the repoire he had with others. I think my only quip is that the taco is a bit expensive, so maybe better as a snack. And they only have two salsas that they hand out. I love a salsa bar, so that's more on me. But they have a pretty solid red and green salsa. read more

Came for their weekday puffy taco deal for takeout. The workers were all very nice and patient, explaining the menu and deals happening. Located in a small strip mall, this place is easy to get to with lots of parking in the front. It's small but has a cute and homey feel. The person behind the walk up counter was very friendly. He happily answered questions about their menu. Ordering food was easy. There's a small amount of seating inside. They graciously changed the channel to the Dodger game upon our request. Ive never had a puffy taco before and these were so good! The masa is fried and super fresh tasting. The carne asada was very flavorful. This place has daily specials. They're also very generous with the sides, which makes the meal feel hearty and satisfying. The only downside is the taco shells, which were a bit too dry this time. The large burrito is an incredible value -- almost two pounds, packed with shredded beef, avocado, rice, and beans. One burrito can easily feed three to four people. We've always loved their shredded beef, but recently it has become noticeably saltier than before. As longtime customers, we really hope they adjust the recipe back to its original balance, because during our last three visits it's consistently been too salty. On the positive side, the green salsa is amazing, and their cheese nachos and puffy tacos are absolute must-tries -- super flavorful and satisfying. The seating area is comfortable and spacious, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, share food, and enjoy a few drinks together. Here is what I ordered. Puffy Taco with Al Pastor The tortilla...I have never had anything like this before. It was airy, crispy, and not oily. It added such a great texture to the whole dish. Despite how basic this taco was, it was nothing short of amazing. The al pastor had a nice char and was very flavorful, topped with onion, cilantro, and cheese. It was perfect. I also appreciated how easy it was to eat. Everything fit in one bite, and nothing fell out. Street Taco with Carne Asada You already know what I am going to say here. It was simply good. The carne asada was just as well cooked and flavorful as the al pastor. You can enjoy these tacos in many different ways, both plain and with the green and red sauces. Now let me talk about the sauces. The green sauce was smoky, tangy, and aromatic, with a great consistency. I do not like it when salsa verde is too watery, and I really liked that this one was not over blended. You can actually see bits and pieces of the ingredients, which made the flavor more punchy. As for the red sauce, it had a good level of heat and was very aromatic. Just like the green sauce, the consistency was great. If you are looking to add a kick to your meal, definitely add the red sauce. Lastly, Damien was one of the nicest people I have ever met in the service industry. From time to time, he was working the front alone despite how busy it was. I honestly do not know how he maintained such a positive attitude. They do have a Taco Tuesday special, but I hadn't had their puffy tacos in a while and wanted to get some of those along with their traditional street tacos. I opted for al pastor and chicken for each. I do think I may have received one beef taco instead, but it was still very good. The puffy tacos are so delicious and such a fun take on a classic. They're a little greasy, but honestly, so worth it! Their place is small and quaint with a mom-and-pop vibe. It wasn't very busy when I visited. We've tried the Fat Burrito and the Puffy Taco -- both are great, but the Puffy Taco steals the show. It's so crispy, flavorful, and just hits the spot every time. I always get it with al pastor (HIGHLY recommend), and my boyfriend loves it with carnitas. We seriously come here almost every Monday -- that's how good it is. And don't even get me started on the horchata... it's BOMB AS F*!!!** So creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The vibe inside is super cozy -- always clean, and the natural sunlight that comes through the windows makes it feel so warm and welcoming. It's just a really chill and comforting place to eat.
