Surprising find outside of the airport in Bozeman. The Beef brisket was delicious. Large Caesar salad. Side orders of fried okra and their house specialty grit were different and super yummy. It is located in an industrial zone, behind a commercial building. But once you're inside, it's modern, clean and inviting. The food came quickly and the service was attentive. A great little BBQ spot! Being from STL it's hard to find good BBQ. When you see burnt ends on a menu u know they know BBQ. Now if they are good that's another question. So burnt ends where on point so was the pulled pork. The chicken was dry but still had good smoke flavor. The sides where great! Grits are a must and the broccoli salad killer! We met some friends for lunch at noon. Place was pretty busy. We stood at the counter to get seated for longer than we should have despite the 4 employees looking at us and yet not seating us or even acknowledging us. Once finally seated we didn't see our server for quite some time. After a long wait we finally got drinks and our meals. Most of the meat was tough and super fatty throughout. This was GREAT bbq food. We were just in town for the afternoon and decided to walk over from our hotel on a recommendation from a friend. This place exceeded expectations and was actually reasonably priced for a large portion of food. We got two different two meet platters which each came with two sides. We tried the BBQ pork, burnt ends, smoked ham and beef brisket. The BBQ pork was average, smoked ham was pretty tasty but the stars were the burnt end and brisket. The sauce was okay, the best one was the original Bar 3 sauce. It was sweet and tangy and paired nicely with all the meats. The Mac and cheese was the tastiest side and had smoked ham inside. Yum! The potato salad was not bad, a bit too much sour cream and dill for me. The grits were very good actually, and i am not a fan of grits. The fries were well seasoned and crispy and went well with the meats! Overall very impressed and I'll be back next time I am in town! Service was also good as well. read more

Had to wait for quite a while it seemed to get our order in and to finally get our food. The seating is a little tight as well, we were so close to our "neighbors" that we were hearing their intimate conversations. I really enjoyed my food, my husband thought his was a little bland so I guess it can be hit or miss here. Definitely going to get my food to go next time I'm here, but I will be back to try more of their menu. read more

We went on a Sunday in time for the brunch. My husband is a big BBQ fan and he loved the food. The grits were amazing as were the pickles and broccoli salad. One of our group had the banana bread french toast with lemon curd and talked about it all day! One person said the ribs were the best she had ever had. And the service...let's just say the staff would rather snap chat than pay attention to the customers. It's sad because this place could be so good. I have been to this spot several times. The BBQ is good. They have fried okra which is a must for good southern BBQ. The service has always been below average. I would like it better if I did not risk getting sick from all the sauces. It is hard to order BBQ without sauce, and they use wheat and gluten ingredients in their sauce. i used to love this place. but i am so sick of the terrible service. come in to the restaurant less than halfway full. they seat us in the back corner, right next to the bathrooms [i can almost reach the bathroom door handle from my seat) and right next to the kitchen doorway. we asked to be moved. thats when the rudeness started. we would say "thank you" and would get a "yup" in return. we got nachos, which had an obvious beard hair in the cheese. gross!! we wont be back, at least until they clean it up attitude wise. read more

Don't waste your time on them, because they just don't care. I came in at around 5pm on a Wednesday to grab some takeout. I'd never been here before. The place wasn't busy. I waited 5 minutes at the host stand before anyone came up. The girl told me to go to the bar for takeout. I had already been looking at the paper menu, so I knew what I wanted. I waited at the bar for another 15 minutes while the bartender laughed with people at the bar, refilled their drinks and even went and got another persons take out order who walked in, all while I just stood there. The manager and a waitress walked by me a few times and didn't even acknowledge me. I was clearly making it a point to look around like I needed something. A couple sitting at a table noticed and shrugged at me and shook their heads. They couldn't figure it out either. I finally just LEFT! If they don't want any business, which I'm sure is slow during the pandemic, I'm sure not going to beg for it. Pretty rude if you ask me. If you want service...any service...this clearly isn't the place. read more

Ever since Bar3 bbq opened in Bozeman many many years ago! My experience has always been WOW! The grits, the pickles, the sandwiches, the service. I am a regular and will continue to be. Last night my son and I ordered to go. I had the fried chicken sandwich and he had the pulled pork. After we got home we were missing some food so I called and by the time we got back to the store the stuff has a smile, an apology and two sandwiches for us with a gift certificate! The food was fine. Honestly nothing extraordinary. We came here for a day trip and this restaurant was recommended by a coworker and the service was pretty terrible. My husband asked for his burger to be medium rare and have the cole slaw and for a side of ranch and our server confirmed both and brought neither. We also asked for refills of our drinks.
