Make the drive! Staff were so friendly! We enjoyed everything! The chicken, pork, jap sausage and tri-tip were our favorites, all the sides were delicious as well. Great customer service! Definitely will return!!! Thank you!

Destination BBQ in the heart of Montgomery. Every aspect of the BBQ and sides are carefully crafted to perfection. Fast and friendly service once you make it through the line, but don't be surprised to get a complimentary beer and maybe even a sample while waiting to make it go a little faster. Go, go again, and then again. It's Top 50 for good reason!

The customer service and food were absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and made fantastic recommendations. Everything we tried was delicious but definitely give the Honey Cornbread a try!

Outstanding brisket. The pork ribs (and beef ribs) are top notch too. I haven't had any sides I didn't like, but to me they're just there to look good while I eat more brisket. Both the regular and jalapeno sausage have good flavor. Grabbing a beer from the cooler while waiting in line sets the tone nicely. Tables outside where the kids can run around. Of the great bbq places around Houston, it's tough to find better than this.

We'd just finished a great brunch at First Watch in Willis (thank you Yelp) and my wife asked if there was a BBQ restaurant nearby that serves smoked sausage. This was code for "you did not buy sausage for me the last time you visited SouthernQ". I was quick on my feet, remembering that Bar-A BBQ was rated a Top 50 Texas BBQ Restaurant in Texas Monthly Magazine's latest issue. I whole heartedly agree with TM's assessment. This restaurant delivers on quality and flavor, not the salt and pepper seasonings, but big, bad East Texas flavors. I feasted on the Texas Trinity. Sausage: Flavorful, moist, nice grind Brisket: Moist, well-seasoned, tender Ribs: Smokey, firm, moist, and well-seasoned Dirty Rice: Meaty goodness BBQ Sauce: Acidic, Sweet and Citrusy Cucumber Salad: Refreshing Pickles & Pickled Onions: Homemade Goodness Everyone was friendly and the entire venue, from the free beer to the specialty soft drink dispenser, spewed small-town charm and hospitality.

All I can say it is all great. Every single thing I tasted was masterful. The turkey is the best smoked turkey I have ever tried..., and I've tried a lot. The ribs were perfect. We had sausage and chicken too. All were so well smoked. The sides were great. The pickles and onions were fabulous. We had the dirty rice, potatoes, cucumber salad.... All fabulous. The banana picking and tallow cookie were both so so so good. I'm going to need a thesaurus if they keep knocking it out do the park.

Another Montgomery restaurant my friend told me about that I must visit. This one was listed as one of the top new BBQ restaurants in Texas by Texas Monthly, quite a feat of its own. They are located in a converted house about 2 blocks west of downtown and offer free beer in a cooler. There was no wait surprisingly when I arrived just as they opened. I tried their 2 meat plate which comes with 2 sides and a drink for $24. I chose mac n cheese and cheesy tater casserole. Mac n cheese - a little on the peppery side but good. When you bite into this, you taste the real cheese instead of processed like many Mac n cheeses. Cheesy potato casserole - like a cross between Mac n cheese and a loaded baked potato. It's good but I should have tried the beans to compliment the mac n cheese instead. Too many cheesy starchy items. Beef and garlic sausage - homemade, beefy, garlicky and peppery. This is a thick diameter sausage and I liked it. Brisket - I chose fatty and they ask every customer so you get exactly what you want evey time. It's smoky, tender and peppery. This is obviously prime brisket. Another very good example of prime brisket. Pickles, Onions, jalapeños and bread - they seem to pickle their own onions and pickles. They serve fresh sliced jalapeños and use Martin's potato bread for their complimentarybread slices. Each plate comes with 2 slices. Banana pudding- this one is not your traditional pudding, but in a good way. It comes with a unique topping that seems like pecan meal with mini chocolate chips...the pudding itself is silky smooth and tastes homemade.

We came at lunchtime for their Thursday special, a brisket smash burger. The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We ordered the combo which includes a brisket smash burger, a side, and a drink. The brisket smash burger is 2 smashed patties with a slice of American cheese on each patty served on a fresh bun. The pickles and pickled onions are on the side and thinly sliced. I enjoyed the pickles and onions with my burger. One of our sides was the dirty rice dressing and the other side was a tallow cookie, both options were delicious. The soft drink options are made with cane sugar and have a diet selection available. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The weather was perfect for being outdoors and most people were enjoying the outdoor seating. This wasn't our first time and it won't be our last. We look forward to trying other menu items on future visits!

Fun outing to celebrate Father's Day with my husband. Tim wanted to eat here after watching them on U-tube. We waited in line for about 45 minutes but it moved steadily. The food didn't disappoint. Everything we tried was delicious. The brisket was moist and flavorful, ribs were tender and still had a nice bite, chicken was so good, Dino rib had a nice bark with a moist texture, turkey was delicious and so flavorful. The sides were good but the meat was the star of the meal. We drove 1.5 hrs to get there and was worth the drive.

This joint definitely rates as one of the best BBQ in Texas. Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday around noon and there was a decent size crowd. Parking is tight with overflow across the street. It's located in a blue house near the brick buildings. There's plenty of outside seating although we chose to eat inside. You walk up to the counter and place your order. There's merch and even free beer! We got the 1 plate combo, Trinity plate and side of honey butter cornbread, cheesy tater casserole, brisket dirty rice, cowboy pinto beans and chips. Staff were super friendly and the food was phenomenal! The brisket melted in my mouth and the ribs were flavorful and moist. My favorite sides were the rice and cornbread. Highly recommend and plan to take my friends and family here when they visit to introduce them to try Texas bbq.

Ordered take out from here and the bbq was amazing. The sides were well seasoned. Bbq was tender and flavorful. I look forward to dining in one day. Service was great even though we ordered to go. Great Texas bbq.

Food and service is above 5 stars. This was my first time there, it won't be the last Some of the best barbque if not the best....it worth the wait,

Oh...my....GOSH. My first bbq experience in Texas!! Wow. I loved every bit of this plate. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, the rib meat was perfection, and the cheesy sausage was literally dripping with ooey gooey cheese. The meat overall was to die for. The side dishes were also crazy and complimented the meat so perfectly. You really get a bang for your buck here, the portions are huge. 2 people shared this place and we had tons of leftovers. The banana pudding and cornbread dessert was SO GOOD. I could just not stop eating them. I loved all of the options that we got and I highly recommend trying all of the sides and desserts here. Overall we had an amazing experience, especially it being my first bbq in Tx, I was not at all disappointed. Highly recommend!

They were pretty busy so we did have a short wait for food, but not unbearably long. My daughter and son in law got 2 lbs crawfish with potatoes and Kai sauce as did my husband and I. Theirs came out pretty quickly but we had a bit longer wait. A chicken strips kids meal was also ordered for my grandson. The fries were plentiful and he seemed to enjoy. I had a glass of wine and my SIL had a frozen hurricane with waters all around and a Dr Pepper. Unfortunately, they were out of lemonade and no other juice options available for my grandson so he had to go with water. We didn't order any extra sauces for the crawfish to be tossed into as we wanted to try them as they were intended. My daughter and son-in-law's order seem to be more medium and smalls while ours was strictly smalls pill was easy. Taste was good. My daughter also ordered a half pound of boiled shrimp. They were very tasty and buttery easy peel and decent size the potatoes were tasty without being overly seasoned. The Thai sauce is a good addition to add a little more flavor. We are looking forward to coming back when the season gets a little more stable and trying different Crawfish varieties this is a great outdoor spot in our little town.

I went with the Fayrweather Byrd (BBQ Chicken) and the Southbound, which is like a Tex-Mex pizza - headlined by beef fajita meat. I thought the fayrweather byrd was pretty ideal. I ordered mine without jalapenos because my wife and I are really wusses when it comes to spicy food. My wife tried one bite of one slice and I ate the rest of the entire pizza by myself. Not because I was still hungry by the end, but because it was so delicious. And to make matters worse for my appetite, I also ate more than half of the Southbound, making it 13 slices in one sitting for me. I didn't have to include these embarrassing details in my review, but here I am, outing myself. I thought the southbound was fine, but would probably go for something else on the menu next time. Lastly, we finished with a mother fudger brownie. When I ordered it (to-go), he asked if we wanted everything on top: ice cream, whip cream, etc. I said yes, because I assumed it would be kept separate. But unfortunately, it was all packed into one box, so by the time I got home, it was virtually all melted. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but I'd probably only order this if you plan on eating it as soon as it's made. I will definitely check out Dizzy Pies again, as it's a very solid option in the neighborhood.
