The customer service here was a perfect five star out of five star. The food was just sub par. It was more so the quality. I'm not sure if it's because I came during off peak hours. The lady who took my order in front had a very country accent. It was very warm. She was very helpful and gave me a list of options and help make recommendations when I could. It decide. I ordered the two meat sample, sausages and ribs. And baked potato. The baked potato and sour cream was my favorite. If they would have put a little more effort into the ribs I would have given this place a perfect 5 star rating because the service was on point. I paid 20 dollars but only was able to eat the potatoes after taking only a few bites of the ribs. Maybe this could have been a fluke on the ribs because, like I said, the service was actually great. We come to this location often as it is near our house. The parking is free (always a plus) and plentiful. There's also a drive-through! Place your order at the counter with the friendly staff. You'll be able to see through a window to the kitchen there. There are a lot of options for meats, sides, etc. ALSO they recently brought back the BBQ bread! I don't know where it went (to bread cemetery) I guess, but this last time I was there, they had it again. I was so happy. That stuff probably isn't good for my heart, but it's great for my soul. Anyway. I am a creature of habit so I tend to get the same thing every time, and every time it is delicious. BBQ Pork plate with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. I don't know what they put in their corn, but I'll take a gallon, thanks. My boys love their smoked turkey. I had to order another serving because shockingly, they all ate it and wanted more. It's the one thing they can agree on. Oh, don't forget the chewable ice machine! There's some TVs so you can probably watch sports. The only downside is it's almost always cold in there. OK, so I have been doing smoked meats and sides for almost 40 years, and this was my first visit to Cutie's. The ribs were delicious, fall apart with just to right amount of flavor rub. The beans were super delicious! Definitely got this recipe right, same with the slaw, really good. However, I can't say the same for the brisket, first order was cold and dry, almost like it had been sitting in a warming oven for hours. Second order wasn't much better, tasted dry and old. This Northern doesn't get a lot of good BBQ, so I was so happy to visit Bar-B-Cutie. First, they have a drive?! Love it! We went to dine inside and the place is spacious with tons of inside dining. The staff was helpful and friendly. The AC was also pumping and it was nice and cold inside. The menu is vast and has something for everyone. The cornbread was not what I was expecting - it was flat like a pancake but had delicious cornbread flavor. The fried pickles were perfect and had a great breading with a crunchy pickle inside. The BBQ was tender and had great flavor. 4 sauces were at the table along with a dry rub. I tried it all and I couldn't decide which sauce I liked. I've been to multiple locations and this one is far the best. Usual goto is pork sandwich and fries which have been great the 4 times I've come. All the staff are very friendly and food is reasonably priced being that's it bbq. I drive past a closer location just to eat at this specific one. The smell hits you when you pull into the parking lot, there's BBQ here for sure. While the smell permeates the air, my mouth began to salivate before heading inside. From the look of the building and restaurant I expected to find a host inside and was thrown off when I realized it was a counter service quick dining restaurant instead. It was unexpected, but nothing to be upset at. The interior reminded me of the interior of a Logan's Roadhouse with tables, chair, walls, and column all made of polished wood with grain visible throughout. Very southern, very country, very fitting. Behind the counter is a digitalized menu, with so much on it I was overwhelmed at first glance. I told the employee it was my first time and just got what she recommended so I didn't have to look at that digital mess of screen again! Upon recommendation we got the 2 Meat Sampler plate with Pulled BBQ Chicken and BBQ Pork, with Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad as our sides. Also included was a piece of fried cornbread (imagine a cornbread pancake). Not a bad meal for two for $14.95 The food was out and to us quickly, and served in a white styrofoam box (a COVID-19 precaution). You can see the usual sleek metal trays the food is served on in pictures from other reviewers. Time to eat! First thing I scarfed down was the BBQ Pork. The pork was served plain without any sauce smothering it, but was accompanied with several types of BBQ sauce that was available: Carolina, Sweet, and Mild (others were available behind the counter as well) The pork was tender, and juicy, and the portion size (of all the food) was good. However, I want my pork to fall apart in my mouth and just melt like butter. This pork lacked that distinctness I look for in pork, and could have used some flavoring to accompany it other than sauce. The chicken was not my favorite. It was a pulled chicken, but texturally and visually the chicken didn't look or feel as pulled as one may expect. It was clumpier than the pork when I expected a similar look. Unlike the pork this did come pre-smothered in some type of sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce was overly sweet and way too powerful to make me want more than a forkful or two of the chicken. I am a Mac and Cheese snob, and it really showed while eating this Mac and Cheese. The only way I can think to describe it is as watered down Kraft. The cheese had very little flavor and the only little bit of flavor I could find just tasted like watery cheese sauce. The pasta was well cooked but with that unpleasant cheese water taste just made the entire thing feel squishy and wet in the mouth. If I hadn't been so hungry I wouldn't have eaten much of it. The cornbread was unique and loved how it is served in a pancake like form. But just imagine eating the driest pancake you've ever had. Cornbread is a hard thing to get right, and I understand that. But it should be crumbly without being dry and with each bite of this cornbread pancake I felt like I had eaten sand in a desert and not any amount of water would ever be able to quench my thirst. For somewhere I thought was going to be a more middle of the road sit down restaurant, I can summarize that the Bar-B-Cutie chain is simply a fast food BBQ joint, and tastes about as good as you could expect for such a place. But when you add on the price surge of BBQ on top of what you'd normally pay for fast food, the food just doesn't meet the standard. read more

I purchased two stuffed potato's tonight that was supposed to have brisket in them. The potatoes only had a little sour cream a little bit of cheese and a blob of fat no meat in either potato. Wow! Amazing food, the greens were seasoned perfectly with some sort of vinegar. The to-go cups were filled full of greens and NO water. Creamed corn is heavenly, okra's crisp, cornbread is beautifully cooked. There are so many restaurants in our area, but this is my favorite of all. The guy at the window is friendly. They had a drive thru which I was happy about. When I got my platter I was not happy wowwed at all. There was nothing to write home about. Bar-B-Cutie is a good place for quick fast bbq. I'm not going to expect Edley's level stuff here but I will say that for a local chain bbq the pulled pork is above average. Not just that but on Wednesday the pulled pork sandwich combo is a little over 5 bucks. The mustard sauce is pretty tasty and the hot has a little kick to it, but not too spicy. They have a large selection of sides but I would stay away from the mac n' cheese, it's not very good. I think the attention they put on the main bbq meats is the main focus but all that attention has a cost and that comes from the side dishes not much seems to be put on them. read more

I met a couple friends for dinner last night... We originally went to Chicago Style Italian Beef.. This is the smallest Bar B Cutie I've been visited of late, but that didn't matter. I got a large pulled pork sandwich and mac n cheese. The service was quick and our food was out in minutes.. The Mac n Cheese was average, nothing special, but good enough.. That's where the average stops... The Pulled Pork was some of the best I've had in the last couple months. It was all meat, very minimal bad fat attached. It was seasoned and cooked to near perfection... Seasoning was peppering with a good hint of smoke.. It was cooked very well, not too long where it just falls apart and not too short where its tough... The pork had been shredded well and we free of any large debris..I love that the pork comes un-sauced and I'm free to mix and match the sauces on the table to create my own unique flavor. Kind of a order at the cashier, take a number and they bring out the food, but that is the last you will see of server... but you don't need much, all on the table and serve yourself drinks. 1 Food - I thought was pretty well done. 2 Service - Cashier very friendly, food runner also pleasant, no complaints. 3 Ambiance - good crowd, but not too noisy. If they had full service at your table would have been 5 star. Plenty of meat that the Bar-B-Cutie establishment placed on my plate. the Mac and cheese was pretty damn good too for a restaurant. Lot of places screw this up. I am a potato salad head and I found this to be tasteful as well. Huge Texas toast and you will be napping in no time. Everything tasted real good. The ribs were moist and pulled pork was yummy. This was the second time we dined here but we hadn't found anything we hated. We loved all of their food, except the cole slaw. It was kinda "meh" type thing. Other than that, food is worth every penny. Highly recommended! @Jesse Q.: You asked me why I didn't deduct a point because of the cole slaw. Here's the answer: I vote all the places (mainly restaurant) based on many things: cleanliness, service, products and price, etc. This place has good price, always clean (for at least 7 times or more I've been here), food are prepared freshed (not like the other Bar-B-Cutie I tried, their ribs were forever frozen). This place has awesome BBQ. This place was recommended to me by more than one person so I figured I should go. Smart of me cause this place rocks. I got the pulled pork sandwich and fries and my friend shared some fried pickles with me. Boy was it delicious, all of it. I ate too much but what the heck ....it's barbecue. Service was fast and we were a large group that swooped down on them at lunchtime. It was all handled very well. Seems that a lot of people agree this place is the spot.
