Beautifully-built restaurant and high quality wings, although pricing structure leads a bit to be desired and the wings experienced close to closing time were a bit strange. I'll get to it. We ordered 20 wings, but wanted to try 4 sauces. The server thought it might be possible, but went to check with the kitchen. They said it would be okay if we ordered 2 orders of 10 instead of the 20. It's strange because 20 wings is like $24 while 2 orders of 10 wings comes to $23.90. Don't you usually save money if you order 20 vs 10 at once? I digress. What she failed to mention was there would be a "split sauce" charge of $2 or something of the sort. The sort of nickel and diming just comes off as inhospitable and just for example the containers of blue cheese they give you are SUPER SMALL and if you ask for more blue cheese, they will say "sure," but lots of time will fail to tell you it will be an extra $1 on your bill. BOO. Now that's out of the way, let's get to the food. They tell you the wings are fresh and hand painted. While hand painted they might be and never frozen may be true, what was a little strange was this: they told us "the wings will take 30 minutes." 15 minutes or less, they were on our table. How could this be crispy and fried to order?? I was a bit suspicious. For the sauces, we ordered the sicilian, honey bbq, buffalo hot and mild. Here's the verdict: some of the wings were lukewarm, while others were piping hot. How could this happen? I think basically, they already had some fried and they just painted them to order...so they weren't super hot out of the fryer and painted immediately. I'm not entirely sure. They were perfectly crispy, but unfortunately the lukewarm-ness of some of the flavors was disappointing for me. Also, while they do warn you about it - to be aware...the hot Buffalo are truly hot. So if you generally go for hot wings, you'll probably be satisfied with a Bar Bill medium. This is not a criticism and I appreciate that while some wing joints warn you that "our HOT IS VERY HOT," I've rarely found this to be true except in the case of Bar Bill. The sicilian garlic parmy wings were by far the favorite. I would definitely recommend those and maybe a standard Buffalo sauce. Big parking lot. Large, beautiful bar and a patio that's bound to rock in the summer. It's super busy as of opening week, so come at night when it's dying down. TLDR; get the sicilian wings. read more

I love Bar Bill's food. Their wings are absolutely top 3 in WNY! This location is especially great because they accept all forms of payment. (the one in East Aurora is cash only). The last time we went though we were sat upstairs next to a window with zero insulation. It was so awful we had to ask our waitress if we could move because we were so cold. We then watched the exact same thing happen to 3 other couples. We all laughed at how ridiculous it was that they would keep trying to sit people there. Please just stop doing that. Lol Other than that, I highly suggest the wings or beef on weck. I am an out of town- er and hit the trifecta this week, visiting Bar-Bill, Duffs and Anchor Bar. All were good but Bar-Bill (North) took home the prize - running away. Wings (flats only please) were smoking hot and crispy. I ordered medium hot with a side of hot to dip the wings in. I never eat blue cheese with wings but at Bar-Bill I will never eat wings without the homemade blue cheese. Outside the wings, beer is good and the bar talk amongst the locals was fantastic. Stopped for lunch on their second day open. Little bit of a wait because all of Bar-Bill fans have been waiting for the new Clarence location to open. Well that day is finally here. Much larger than East Aurora. Even though its crowded it doesn't feel cramped. Their wait list is high tech. They take your cell number and text you when it's your turn. When you first check in, they text you with a link to check your position on the list. How cool is that. For locals that remember the Old Red Mill restaurant, that's where they are. Good news though, they completely gutted the old building and started rebuilding from the skeleton. The food was great especially the Chicken Wing Pizza. Service was outstanding. We came here on a Saturday afternoon at 1. The place was packed! We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Our server, Casey, was attentive despite how busy he was. We tried the house lager and it was cold and flavorful. The bartender knows how to pour a Guinness properly. We ordered wings, fries, and roast beef. All were good. What was outstanding was the chicken wing sauce! Very tasty and unique! Also, the roast beef was somewhat tender, medium, and piled high. The roll was disappointing. The reason I gave it 3 instead of 5 stars: There were no straws or child sized cups, we were offered no silverware (I had to borrow a piece of celery to spread mayo on my sandwich), and the wings could have been larger. We paid our bill with a credit card, and our server ran it through a handheld electronic device at our table. While this is convenient and time saving, we never got a copy of the itemized bill. The legendary Bar-Bill of East Aurora finally opened their Clarence location and it's just as good as the original but on overdrive. There are 2 dining areas downstairs plus a large dining area with a separate bar upstairs. There's also a nice looking upstairs patio area upstairs that obviously wasn't opened being that it's January. The main bar and waiting area are decent sizes and there's a nice take out counter though that service isn't available yet. Also there's a huge parking lot in the back. Today was really packed with just being the second day open but the wait time was manageable. It helped that everyone there was super friendly. We were told that our server Rachel is the only employee that came over from the original location and is super happy since it's so much closer to home for her. The hostess Gena was also great and even with the crowd took time to chat for a few minutes when we were seated. Today we got the beef on wick (a staple) and a chicken wing pizza. My husband doesn't even like blue cheese but on the recommendation from Gena tried the pizza. It was excellent! Slight but not overpowering taste of blue cheese and the chicken wings on top are fresh and tender. I'm sure I'll get their wings next visit because they're always good. First, I am overdue to write a review of what has become my go-to-WING joint in Buffalo! Yes, when tourists come to town I know where to take them and when feeling nostalgic for a no-atmosphere just wings thank you dive I know where I enjoy going but Bar-Bill North gives you atmosphere along with perfect ... AND, I MEAN PERFECT WINGS. However, I want to award TEN STARS for my experience on Monday March 7th at high noon because what I witnessed in terms of dedication to service, hustle and teamwork was extraordinary and deserving of the highest praise!! Visit either Bar-Bill's location and you know you are almost guaranteed to find a line (Sorry tourists the reputation and reality are why people will wait and wait just for WINGS!!!). When I arrived there was a full parking lot and a line but it was only me so I knew that the bar was probably going to be a good choice. When the hostess came to me the very first thing she chose to do was to be honest ... "Two servers did not show up for work today and one of our cooks called out too. We are going to do our best to serve you but ... but . She did not have to say anything more because I understood and I am the patient type. So, I looked at the empty high top in the bar area ... "is it ok if I sit there?" She smiled, said yes, and said I would have to order at the bar, which worked for me because I was not having a romantic lunch with myself. I then watched the hostess and the bar tender and one other young woman hustle to care for customers with amazing energy and every time they faced a customer there was a smile on their faces. The bartender rushed from behind the bar to a table to care for people and then back to the bar all in a flash of intense quality service! The hostess ... my goodness that young woman deserves whatever bonus Bar-Bill's offers their best because she had to deal with a long line of folks wanting to be seated who saw empty tables and she had to take orders, explain options, go to the kitchen and back to the line and back to the table then to the kitchen ... to the line and then carry out food and check on folks' status. She literally was running and working in tandem with the bartender as if they were "Allen and Diggs" putting a touchdown play together! As she passed by me, I'd say 'keep smiling' and she'd reply "trying" and she smiled and she served each person with care and it was a great example of what can be accomplished through positive attitudes and teamwork in moments of crisis. Oh and my wings were perfectly crispy and the flavor spot on ... my french fries were pretty awesome and I was happy (My one bar-bill complaint as someone stopping for lunch, I would have preferred to have seen a nice small chef's salad or side salad to go with my wings rather than the fries but who would complain about perfect wings and perfect fries ... not me! Ahnd, please do the Buffalo thing and serve carrots with the wings and celery!). In my lifetime I have enjoyed meals at this location when it was the RED MILL. I have enjoyed WINGS here before since it became BAR-BiLLS North but on this Monday in March I left smiling because of my observations of the workers and I still am so impressed. By the time I left the "calvary" had arrived and the hostess and the barkeep were no longer providing top notch customer service on their own. Our dinner here definitely lived up to the expectations of the original Bar Bill! We waited about an hour for a table of 7 people on a weeknight (which was expected and actually shorter than it could have been). So I'd still be prepared to have to wait a while, but this location is much bigger which is a plus. We sat in the back where most of the walls are garage doors which will be amazing in the summer! The only issue I had was it was hard to bite into because of the gnarly parts of the beef. I swallowed a few small bites whole almost. Best wings ever! I am from Austin, TX and my best friend is from Buffalo, NY. He's told me for years that the wings in Buffalo are so much better than anything we have in Austin. I didn't believe him as I thought it was just a nostalgic ideal of childhood. He recently moved back and so I went to visit him. The first place he took me was Bar-Bill. When you walk in you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a really big space inside with multiple separate rooms and a bar. I was introduced to a few new things: Cajun Honey Butter BBQ, Buffalo blue cheese dip (wayyyyy better than anything I've had in Texas), Beef on Weck, Molson Canadian lager, and Labatt Blue lager. I tried all of it and I was most impressed with the wings but Mostly just because of the texture of the wings themselves. They were crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. There was almost none of it besides the bone that was inedible. They were in my opinion, complete perfection. The beef on weck was really delicious too. Finally made it out to the Clarence location and it's definitely just as good as the original! I really like this location because of how much more spacious it is compared to its sister in EA. Lots of tables and parking and a great patio too. What could be better! My boyfriend ordered the jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. They aren't typically my jam but I did take a few bites and these were decent! Perfect cheese to jalapeño to breading ratio, if you ask me. I've recently dubbed myself the Chicken Finger Princess so I'm qualified to say that Bar Bill North truly showed up with their chicken fingers tonight. I ordered them medium and they were so tasty.
