Went to fire bills for the first time with my son and two kids today. It was absolutely phenomenal. The wings were done perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. My taste buds just went. Well I have to say I wasn't impressed by this place. I suppose it could be a decent place to watch sports but that's about it. Very limited menu, mostly bar food. No deals on wings for buying bigger portions. Want all flats or all drums? They charge $2.50 more. I ordered medium sauce and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't to my liking as it had a sweet flavor behind it. I use to serve so I try not to complain but this was an awful experience. Walked in with 5 of us, we were told it would be a few minutes which turned to 30, nbd things happen. I ordered an app for the table and it came with our food, again nbd. I ordered the chicken fingers and they were very small with little to no sauce and felt like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. Wings should be dripping in sauce not brushed with a tiny bit. The other complaint I had was how small the menu was. There was one sandwich and like one salad and one size pizza on the menu. Bar Bill has the most impressive and efficient to-go system in place that I have yet to experience. A coworker and I have been eyeing this place up for lunch since they opened but had been waiting for the wait times to die down first. I happened across something today about their to-go orders and decided to check the wait time; 30-35 minutes. That was perfect. While I work in that area, from my home it's about a 30-35 minute drive. I placed the order online and was on my way. They text you when your order is ready and I received that text literally as I was pulling into the parking lot. You pull up to a clearly labeled spot, someone comes out and asks your number which is both on your receipt and in the text, they go grab your order and then bring it out to your car. The only flaw in my plan was the half hour drive home smelling the tempting aroma before I could dig in. There is a lot of hype about Bar Bill in WNY and they have been on my to-try list for some time yet I had not had the chance try their food until today. I ordered the beef on weck and a single order of wings with Honey Butter BBQ sauce. The beef on weck was a good sandwich. I wouldn't say it beat out my number #1 choice for beef on weck in WNY, but a good contender. The beef was plentiful and tender but the price seemed a little on the high end for a sandwich that only came with a pickle. I don't know if they normally would ask how you want it cooked when dining in, but it was served medium to medium well and I prefer mine on the rarer side. The wings really lived up to the hype. I don't know what they do different. I ordered them regular (you can specify crisp or extra crispy) and they were perfectly crisp for my liking. They seemed maybe baked after being tossed in the sauce? They were not dripping with grease and sauce but seemed more like the sauce was baked in. I don't know, but they were fantastic. The honey butter BBQ was also a nice variation to the plain ole BBQ that I usually order. The blue cheese, OMG! It's house made and it really is hands down the best blue cheese I have ever tasted. My only complaint is that the tiny cup they gave me wasn't enough to accommodate my entire single order. It's a smaller sized ramekin. Overall a solid experience. The curbside service was top notch. My favorite wings in the area is Elmo's by a far margin so I really didn't think I'd like this place even half as much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The wings were really amazing and I will definitely go back! I tried the Cajun and Cajun Honey Dijon and really enjoyed them. The Cajun seasoning was pretty much the best I've ever had. It was super herbal and tasty and had a nice kick to it. The Cajun Honey Dijon was a bit underwhelming though since I couldn't really taste the honey or the mustard, it tasted almost the same as the Cajun, so the cajun honey mustard at Elmo's is definitely much better in my opinion. I tried one bite of a hot wing as well but it was a bit too hot for me so I didn't have more. We also tried the shoe string and beer battered fries and both were really delicious, especially the beer battered ones. Overall, I really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely go back. I had been wanting to try Bar Bill for awhile since it's always on the list of the best wing places, but hadn't made the trip out to East Aurora, so I was glad when this location opened in the north towns. Due to the current situation, we ordered take out online for curbside pickup and ate it in the car to avoid the food getting cold on the drive home. We got 20 medium wings (ordered crispy and with extra blue cheese), waffle fries, and a "small" beef on weck to split. The total came to around $50 with tip, which is pretty pricy for a take out chicken wing meal. We had to ask specially for a side of ketchup for the beef on weck, which was weird because it didn't automatically come with the fries. Pricing aside, I thought everything was amazing. The wings were just spicy and crispy enough, and the sauce was unique and delicious. We were trying to figure out what might be different about the sauce, maybe a hint of BBQ or honey or something sweet. I always appreciate a good homemade blue cheese. Why did it take so long for me to try Bar-Bill?? No idea but so glad it finally happened! I guess maybe it's because I'm not a regular wing eater". With our social distancing, and having a teenager and almost 21 yr old at home, wings inevitably are brought up when discussing take out. Website was super accurate with the estimated wait time (60 mins on a Friday night wasn't too terrible). Tried 10 ea of Mild, Medium and CAJUN HONEY BBQ! (Can you tell which I preferred?). I also chose to go with extra crispy and the wings were perfectly cooked. Sent the kid to pick up, which requires you to wait until they text you and then drive up to receive your "prize". They were spot-on with the timing. Wings arrived warm, crispy and with plenty of blue cheese and fresh, crispy celery sticks (not the warm soggy celery sticks thrown in as an after thought at so many places). Less soggy and messy. *ordered a pepperoni pizza which we agreed was good. The negatives: * the flavor of the medium wings was odd. As a buffaloian you have an expectations when order medium sauce wings. Bar Bill's medium wings were a little tangy. Very weird! We almost thought maybe someone made a mistake in the back but after talking to friends who also visited Bar Bill they had the same opinion. It was not a horrible taste, it just not a medium sauce wing. Maybe if they called it Bar Bills's special sauce then I would not be so critical. *the chairs!! I never judge an establishment on their chair selections before. Lol. I should have taken a picture of the chair. The seat itself is not very big, that alone is not a big deal but the edge of the seat had a lip that dug into your legs and was very uncomfortable. It is sort of like the feeling your bare legs get when you are sitting in a wicker chair and it leaves those uncomfortable chair marks on your legs. I have gone here a couple times since they opened and had alright service. So last month, I decided to bring a client from out of town for some wings and a chat. We waited nearly an hour to be seated, which was not the worst of it. I had arrived earlier so the wait was essentially mostly me. But upon being seated it appeared to be a lot going on. So we decided to order roast beef, chicken wing pizza and an order of wings. I wanted them to be able to try our staples that we are known for. I ordered the wings crispy and was VERY clear about making sure they were that way with light sauce. Again, I have NEVER had a problem previously or at the original location. Because of how I order my wings I expect a wait. The waitress advised us the kitchen was backed up and orders were taking approx 30-45 mins. So we were quick to put ours in after that type of wait. About 15 mins passes and a young man brings us wings. I said "I don't believe those belong to us ...that was to fast and they don't look like ours" His response "Well I don't know who else to give them to. So they must be yours" I had witnessed a few incidents where people were being given the wrong items. I even saw plates put before people and picked up and moved to another table, which is a definate NO. Once it is placed in front of someone you can't serve it to someone else ...well. So I was trying to stop this young man who told me "I promise these are what you ordered" and they were NOT . They were not crispy but more rubbery and slathered in sauce. We got our chicken wing pizza, which did not have chicken wing pieces but old boneless chicken breast that had the worst taste and was very hard pieces. It simply tasted like old, overcooked reheated chicken. Now to the roast beef ...VERY tough and the roll was extremely hard. I was throughly thoroughly disappointed! I mentioned to the waitress how I was feeling her response was "Aww I'm sorry you feel that way... it's crowded " Ummm ...nope that doesn't work for me. I asked for a manager and advised him how things were going in hopes that he could assist the kitchen so the service could turn around. It is disheartening to wait that length of time to be seated and be stuck with food that isn't good. While this review is not good. I will give them another try in the summer because I would love to try the outdoor patio.
