Lobster roll with clam chowder
Ellie D.

*It should be noted that this review was written in 2023 but I forgot to submit it until now, 2025. Please take into account that changes may have been made to the menu since then.* We stopped by on a rainy day. It looked like they have plenty of seating outside for nicer weather and I was surprised that they had a decent amount of seating inside. It would've been nice if they shut the doors leading outside as it got quite chilly inside as our rain soaked bodies started to cool down. What we got: Lobster roll with clam chowder - 4* the lobster roll was decent. I'm resigned to admit I'm not a lobster fan. The clam chowder was good and I wish I had a larger serving! Pork tacos - 3.5* my partner enjoyed them (not a fan of seafood) and happily devoured it all.

Really great and fast service. Went for the lobster roll which was really good with tons of lobster. The lobster Mac and cheese was super heavy on the cheese if that's your jam. The clam chowder was a classic. Bar harbour isn't cheap so the prices are pretty on par for the area. Overall great place for your lobster fix.

I'm honestly surprised this place only has 3.6 stars--this was easily the best seafood and lobster rolls we had during our entire Portland trip! The staff was incredibly sweet and personable, which made the experience even better. The mussels were buttery and delicious, the lobster bisque was creamy perfection, and the lobster rolls? Warm, flavorful, and everything I hoped for. (Hot take: I prefer my lobster rolls warm--and they nailed it.) We wanted to sample a bit of everything, so we ordered an app, four beers, two lobster rolls with fries, and two lobster bisques. The total came to $150, which honestly felt fair for a full seafood spread with drinks. We knew what we were getting into, and it was so worth it.

Well if a picture is worth a 1000 words, here's 2000. Food was delicious and service was great. Kari (yes, I spelled it right) was efficient, friendly and humorous. Great experience. Give them a try. Just a couple of blocks off the village green.

I loved the outdoor seating! The server kept asking if we were ready to order. We told her we wanted to have some cocktails first, and then we would order. The rum punch, painkiller, and blueberry margarita were all great! The lobster bisque, however, was lacking. There was only one small piece of lobster in it, although the flavor was great. The fish and chips were pretty large and tasted great. Overall great place that we would visit again if in the area.

The clam chowder perfect not to thick and clam in every scoop. Fish n chip, was good but the tartar sauce is delicious. But the BLUEBERRY PIE WAS DELICIOUS, together with the blueberry ice cream. I might have to go back tomorrow.

I had a good time with my friends at this establishment. We did outside dining and the ambiance was a great vibe. Although the restaurant was busy, the servers were attentive and the wait time was not too long. I really expected more from the seafood boil regarding flavor but it was decent, I have definitely had better. The portion size was huge though and the half platter could still easily be shared for two people. You could also taste the freshness of the seafood which was a plus!

Black bean burger with fries + Blaze brewery blueberry sour

Wonderful place! Our server was so personable and friendly. My boyfriend and I walked in & were immediately sat at 5 pm on a Friday! I got the black bean burger with fries (the fries are so crispy, yummmm) & my boyfriend got the steamer clams & the lobster roll. He loved both! He also got a blueberry sour beer from Blaze brewery down the street and it was so good. We were in and out in an hour! Very fast, good vibes, nice staff & great food :)

I was craving for a hot lobster roll as it started getting chilly in the evening. Luckily we saw this spot with perfect outdoor seating. The buttered bread with lobster pieces was all that I wanted!!! So good! Thank god we still chose this place despite mixed reviews on yelp. We had a great experience. P.s. the fries were cripy and spicy and had to stop myself from eating them all!!

1/2 order Seafood Boil

Very Accommodating in seating us quickly for a last min walk in of 13 women. Suggestions and food variety were great. I got the 1/2 order Sea Food Boil, because... when in Rome (Maine)... it was still WAAAAY too much for me. But it was delish! Perfect level of spice and flavor. The only hiccup I would say is that, we asked prior to deciding to eat there is if they were okay with separate checks, if not could we split it in 3 or 4, they said it was no problem. But when we finished, they said that they were not able to do it after all because the system didn't allow it. Okay, no biggie, we will have to transfer money to someone else to pay for it all. Easier said than done. It took a lot to figure out who's cost what, and how to figure out tip and tax as well. But we did it, while feeling rushed by 1 server (not our original server and some very hungry guests waiting to be seated. And that's what we were trying to prevent, as well as trying to prevent holding up the tables too long for turnover. But, I can say... they rocked it out given the circumstances. It was a little loud, but I think that was our group making all the noise... lmao! Thanks for dealing with us NorCalGal's!

Amazing lobster rolls and quick service. First time in Bar Harbor and searched a lot of places for lobster rolls and this place didn't disappoint!

The best deal we feel in this area for 2 people at $92.... No other restaurant in this area can compare with their pricing for the food offer.. the food didn't taste very flavorful with the boil flavor but the seafood was fresh.. yes the clams had sand but how they gonna clean the sand outta the clams?? The food taste fresh and the shrimp seem fresh.. yes the lobster was cut up already..this might be sneaky but would it be better they severed the whole lobster..

Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. My only request would be some overhead lighting in the place, needed a flashlight to see the food, but it was all presented so nicely, nothing to hide! I got the tenderloin. If you like lobster and steak, (which I do) the flavors were on point. I ordered medium rare and it was textbook. This has made the top 5 restaurant steaks on my list, and I've cooked, interviewed, and let's just say... been around. The chef should be quite satisfied The wine as we were told goes in order of dry to less. The Pinot noir from Oregon was absolutely perfect to pair. Miss Elizabeth B (6/25 Review),…read more I appreciate the time you took to go scorched earth on your recent review of Table Salt in Bar Harbor, ME. It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!

What an amazing dinner for our first night in Bar Harbor…read more Galyn's offers a charming, intimate ambiance that feels like an upscale yet casual classic steakhouse, complete with beautiful dark wood paneling, local art, and a stunning table view overlooking the green and the water. We loved that they were open late, because we arrived in town a bit on the later side. They have impeccable, professional service--from the fresh-cracked black pepper to the delicious mocktails, bread & butter, shrimp cocktail, fresh lobster roll, and shared Burrata Caprese (perfect since my daughter wasn't too hungry). We topped it all off with a phenomenal Maine Blueberry-Apple Crisp. Between the good pricing, excellent food, and a view that alone was worth the visit, it was a wonderful, memorable meal.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do.
