Amazing-- and worth the price because not only is it delicious but the view from eating it in the park is absolutely priceless. These were the second best lobster rolls we had the entire trip (and we tried a lot). Would definitely recommend.

What a cute little place! The staff were friendly and welcoming. No seating area available, but there is a small park across the street and they offer you warm red blankets to picnic on. We had the Classic and the Hot Lobster Roll. While they were both delicious, I'm definitely a Hot Lobster roll kind of girl. We enjoyed it so much we had to stop by again on our way to the airport. One last one for the road.

This is a must stop when you are in Bar Harbor, Maine. You know it's going to be good when you see 20 people in line waiting to place their takout order. Although it was a long line, it didn't take too long to get to the order counter. They give you a buzzer to tell you when your order is ready. They have no inside seating but there is a park across the street with plenty of benches. The Lobster Rolls were fantastic. You can tell the Lobster is fresh. They have both hot and cold rolls with different flavored sauces. Highly recommended.

What to.do in Bar Harbor Maine? Eat lobster of course! Frenchman Bay Lobster is a tiny storefront with just enough room to go in and place your order. You're given a buzzer to take outside to notify you when your order is ready. I ordered the the classic roll with mayo & lettuce & my husband got the hot roll with melted butter, both smalls. Well the lobster certainly wasn't small. It was an extremely generous portion of delicious fresh lobster. I picked off 4 or 5 nice pieces before even biting into the the sandwich. The roll was nicely toasted & fresh. The mayo & lettuce were minimal allowing the sweet taste of the lobster to shine. I want another one just thinking about it! It's also served with a bag of chips that I munched on later. They offer nice blankets to borrow to take across the street to sit on in the park. I thought that was a nice touch. Good service and great food. 2025-78

Hands down, this is THE best place to indulge and enjoy a delicious lobster rol coupled with quite the breathtaking view! The hot roll is an absolute must! The white mac and cheese is another fan favorite! I mean, for my one-year-old to have loved, that speaks volume! And they offer a blanked for your picnic with a view? Stop it! Why must you spoil us? Keep in mind this is not a restaurant where they can sit indoors/outdoors. The space is tiny and you're only meant to order and pickup. But there's nothing wrong with that. Grab one of their blankets and have yourself a nice little picnic. This is truly a core memory for my little fam.

Holy lobster mac & cheese! I know that most people come here to get the lobster rolls, but after splurging and having a lobster roll pretty much every day while I was in Maine, I wanted to switch things up. So for a late lunch, I decided to try the decadent lobster and white cheddar mac & cheese. This was the epitome of comfort food and luxury decadence. I appreciated that it was white cheddar mac & cheese and none of that artificial orange stuff. They piled the piping hot fresh lobster meat on top and I took my dish across the street and enjoyed it in the park. So if you are craving lobster, but want to switch it up from the traditional lobster roll, I cannot recommend the lobster mac & cheese enough. This is a take away spot, so there is no in-house dining, but the service was extremely fast and friendly.

It's a small take out place with a great seafood. You can get food and eat in front of it on the grass. Service was quick and helpful. You order and they give you a little beeper and you just wait your turn. Place is time and has New England vibe. We had lobster bisque, clam chowder and a small lobster roll. We enjoyed all the food very much. Definitely a great place to go. You can choose a size of a lobster roll, so if you don't want a large one, you can have just a small snack. Great place in a great location.

After several hours navigating carriage trails on gravel bikes, we were more than ready for lunch. FBLR served up its namesake product that hit the marks for both deliciousness and quantity--damn, that's a heckuva lobster roll! We dined al fresco on a bench in Agamont Park with a million dollar view of the Mt Desert Narrows.

Quite literally the best lobster bisque I have ever had in my life!! This spot is right next to the water, and next to a little park/hill that is perfect for a picnic especially since this tiny shop is takeout only (no seats inside). We got there about 12/12:30pm on a Saturday and there was no line, but by the time we left downtown Bar Harbor an hour later there was a line out the door! What I loved about the lobster bisque is that it was perfectly creamy, with a good balance of sherry, cream, butter, and lobster. They even had huge chunks of FRESH lobster! I'm just used to the lobster bisque that has little to no lobster, but the fact that I found 3 lobster claws in my bisque felt like I hit a jackpot. A must go for lobster bisque! They also sell lobster rolls which we didn't get to try. Clam chowder is pretty decent as well, but the lobster bisque was definitely the star of the show.

Let me just say I have been in bar harbor for a week and have been disappointed by the food so far but that ended today when I got this amazing lobster roll. We all got the hot roll which is chock full of chopped meat and doused in hot butter. The meat was just perfect and what I have been looking for all week. The bun did split at the bottom because of all the butter but honestly, it was so good I didn't care. Plus, they have a basket of blankets for you to borrow and sit on the green right across the street. One friend did get Mac and cheese which, was bland and not very hot. So I'd say stick with the lobster!

Iconic lobster rolls! There sooooo many options in area for a good lobster roll and I spent an hour trying to narrow down a spot. Frenchman Bay seemed to have the best reviews and price ratio and I'm so glad we got to try it! The lobster meat were juicy and came in large chunks. The bread was perfectly toasted. Staff were kind and provided suggestions. No seating, but there is a park across the street to enjoy your food :)

There's nothing to say that hasn't been said by a million other people - this place has the best hot lobster rolls in Bar Harbor!! Delicious. Buttery. Perfection.

Small hot lobster Roll .. LOTS of juicy, fresh Lobstah!

Amazing lobster (lobstah!) Juicy & fresh... we got the small size and it was plenty of meat... fast service... we ordered at the counter, got a buzzer to pick up when it was ready and we sat on a bench with the view of the water... awesome & relaxing!

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.

This might have been the best meal we had on our trip to Maine!…read more A lot of restaurants weren't open yet but we came across this one. We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

Every fish is paired with meat. In a lobster town. Truffle aioli on a lobster roll are we in 1987? The apps arrived and the nausea followed immediately. My wedge salad had sweet blue cheese dressing I didn't know that was possible, but here we are -- with a random glob of whole grain mustard on top. For what reason? No one knows. My daughter ordered the pork belly and scallops. The scallops arrived the color of miniature marshmallows not a single sear on them, just pale, flaccid little jellies sliding around the plate. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp which inexplicably contained olives, capers, rock-hard chorizo, and a salty broth. The bread course: three pieces of sourdough for $12. One of the butters was sweet. My sister's salmon arrived on two separate piles of colored gloop one green, one reddish pink decorated with little ornamental dots in a plating style that I haven't seen for 20 years. Something on the plate was allegedly broccoli slaw. It was large, cold, oxidized florets with brown edges that no one touched. My husband's filet came with beet mashed potatoes that were ice cold and inedible, and a steak so chewy it couldn't be cut and was raw in the middle. My daughter's seafood pasta arrived in what I can only describe as a glop of beige glue with fish suspended inside it. It looked like oatmeal that had absorbed the ocean. She was given a cracker and a fork, which I assume was meant to be ironic. I canceled my entrée after the apps. When we asked our server where the halibut was from, he said "I think it's fresh." When we asked about the salmon, he said "I think the Atlantic Ocean, but I'm not sure." That was the end of that conversation. We are well-traveled. We live in New York City. I am a chef and my sisters husband is a chef. We have eaten all over the world. This was the single worst meal any of us has ever had in our collective lives. Every dish had no fewer than 47 ingredients, none which complimented each other. The owner seemed genuinely shocked when we explained what had happened, which was perhaps the most alarming part. He refunded us, and we appreciated that. But the refund did not cover my daughter spending the night sick. Hire a new chef. Write a new menu. Edit ruthlessly. Less is more. A lobster in Bar Harbor does not need truffle aioli!!It needs butter maybe some lemon? We were absolutely shocked this place has good reviews.
