Two large buttered lobstaaa rolls, Mac, and chips.
    Shay K.

Frenchman Bay Lobster Rolls completely delivered. We got two large lobster rolls packed with an ample, incredibly generous amount of fresh meat, plus a side of mac and cheese that tastes identical to Panera Bread (and I'm definitely not complaining--pure comfort food!). Be prepared to drop over $100 for this kind of spread, but the quality makes it a total treat. Best of all, you can grab your food and walk right across the street to Agamont Park to soak in the incredible harbor views while you eat!

I would say the lobster was on the overcooked side and my wife and I got two different lobster rolls. I couldn't eat the cold Maine style one. The CT style with butter was a little bit better. It's super nice that they have picnic blankets to use to sit nearby. You do get a decent amount of lobster but the texture for me was a little too firm (rubbery) for my taste.

Lobster rolls, both large, classic (front), hot (back)

We had friendly service, willing to explain to us options on the menu. The lobster roll sizes supposedly are equivalent to 0.5 lobster for a small, 1 lobster for a medium, and 1.5 lobsters for a large. We didn't have a long wait on a Thursday at noon. After the short line, and ordering, we got a buzzer and waited for maybe 6 minutes for our order to be ready. We sauntered across to Agamont park, sat on the grass, and took in the incredible views of the harbor while enjoying these lobster rolls. We got one large hot, one large classic, a lobster mac and cheese, and a plain mac and cheese. All were satisfying and delicious. I honestly couldn't taste the mayo on the classic. It was very light. I really also enjoyed that they took credit cards, including AmEx. Finally, not having to take out $100+ from an ATM for lobster rolls. I mean it's 2026. Thank you Frenchman Bay!

Amazing-- and worth the price because not only is it delicious but the view from eating it in the park is absolutely priceless. These were the second best lobster rolls we had the entire trip (and we tried a lot). Would definitely recommend.

What a cute little place! The staff were friendly and welcoming. No seating area available, but there is a small park across the street and they offer you warm red blankets to picnic on. We had the Classic and the Hot Lobster Roll. While they were both delicious, I'm definitely a Hot Lobster roll kind of girl. We enjoyed it so much we had to stop by again on our way to the airport. One last one for the road.

This is a must stop when you are in Bar Harbor, Maine. You know it's going to be good when you see 20 people in line waiting to place their takout order. Although it was a long line, it didn't take too long to get to the order counter. They give you a buzzer to tell you when your order is ready. They have no inside seating but there is a park across the street with plenty of benches. The Lobster Rolls were fantastic. You can tell the Lobster is fresh. They have both hot and cold rolls with different flavored sauces. Highly recommended.

What to.do in Bar Harbor Maine? Eat lobster of course! Frenchman Bay Lobster is a tiny storefront with just enough room to go in and place your order. You're given a buzzer to take outside to notify you when your order is ready. I ordered the the classic roll with mayo & lettuce & my husband got the hot roll with melted butter, both smalls. Well the lobster certainly wasn't small. It was an extremely generous portion of delicious fresh lobster. I picked off 4 or 5 nice pieces before even biting into the the sandwich. The roll was nicely toasted & fresh. The mayo & lettuce were minimal allowing the sweet taste of the lobster to shine. I want another one just thinking about it! It's also served with a bag of chips that I munched on later. They offer nice blankets to borrow to take across the street to sit on in the park. I thought that was a nice touch. Good service and great food. 2025-78

Hands down, this is THE best place to indulge and enjoy a delicious lobster rol coupled with quite the breathtaking view! The hot roll is an absolute must! The white mac and cheese is another fan favorite! I mean, for my one-year-old to have loved, that speaks volume! And they offer a blanked for your picnic with a view? Stop it! Why must you spoil us? Keep in mind this is not a restaurant where they can sit indoors/outdoors. The space is tiny and you're only meant to order and pickup. But there's nothing wrong with that. Grab one of their blankets and have yourself a nice little picnic. This is truly a core memory for my little fam.

    Lobster Mac n' Cheese

Holy lobster mac & cheese! I know that most people come here to get the lobster rolls, but after splurging and having a lobster roll pretty much every day while I was in Maine, I wanted to switch things up. So for a late lunch, I decided to try the decadent lobster and white cheddar mac & cheese. This was the epitome of comfort food and luxury decadence. I appreciated that it was white cheddar mac & cheese and none of that artificial orange stuff. They piled the piping hot fresh lobster meat on top and I took my dish across the street and enjoyed it in the park. So if you are craving lobster, but want to switch it up from the traditional lobster roll, I cannot recommend the lobster mac & cheese enough. This is a take away spot, so there is no in-house dining, but the service was extremely fast and friendly.

    Clam Chowder

Freshest, tastiest, most incredibly cooked lobster I've ever had in my life. The Lobster Roll is a MUST! We also got a slaw dog and clam chowder, both of which were delicious. Service was beyond excellent! If you're even within a 100 mile radius of Bar Harbor, you need to try this spot!

It's a small take out place with a great seafood. You can get food and eat in front of it on the grass. Service was quick and helpful. You order and they give you a little beeper and you just wait your turn. Place is time and has New England vibe. We had lobster bisque, clam chowder and a small lobster roll. We enjoyed all the food very much. Definitely a great place to go. You can choose a size of a lobster roll, so if you don't want a large one, you can have just a small snack. Great place in a great location.

After several hours navigating carriage trails on gravel bikes, we were more than ready for lunch. FBLR served up its namesake product that hit the marks for both deliciousness and quantity--damn, that's a heckuva lobster roll! We dined al fresco on a bench in Agamont Park with a million dollar view of the Mt Desert Narrows.

Whole lobster Claw in the Lobster Bisque!
    Hanna H.

Quite literally the best lobster bisque I have ever had in my life!! This spot is right next to the water, and next to a little park/hill that is perfect for a picnic especially since this tiny shop is takeout only (no seats inside). We got there about 12/12:30pm on a Saturday and there was no line, but by the time we left downtown Bar Harbor an hour later there was a line out the door! What I loved about the lobster bisque is that it was perfectly creamy, with a good balance of sherry, cream, butter, and lobster. They even had huge chunks of FRESH lobster! I'm just used to the lobster bisque that has little to no lobster, but the fact that I found 3 lobster claws in my bisque felt like I hit a jackpot. A must go for lobster bisque! They also sell lobster rolls which we didn't get to try. Clam chowder is pretty decent as well, but the lobster bisque was definitely the star of the show.

Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!

Off the beaten tourist path and open year round, PP lives up to the reviews and hype. We made a mistake our first night in Bar Harbor going to a tourist trap and getting a rubbery lobster roll and sad chowder. I did a bit of research online and found Peekytoe and was SO glad for it. While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. GO if you are a foodie and don't want a lame wannabe roll with some kids grilled cheese sides, DO this spot. SO well worth it. PS to manament - I know you do a brunch.
