Stayed at the bar due to limited seating. The bar tender was the only person working the entire front end. She was friendly and efficient. Ordered the local oysters and dip. Food in the Main Street area are all expensive so be prepared for that.

These were the best oysters I have ever had in my life!! I really wanted to try this place out when I was planning my trip to Acadia and I am so glad I stopped by. I was here in the summer (August) and although Bar Harbor gets pretty busy during this time, there was little to no wait when I came around 4pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar is quite charming, nothing fancy but feels very welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The oysters were so sweet and fresh, and the mignonette was soo darn good! I still think about these oysters to this day...

BEST MIGNONETTE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!!!!! I would bathe in this mignonette Ohhhhh man, you knew I'd be back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This bar has such a great vibe! No bs just straight to the point![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Stopped in for our anniversary from wayyyy downeast, we had the swan island oysters and they were spectacular. The bartender was so amazing! She was so cool and super knowledgeable about where to grab some oysters to bring back home! I absolutely love this place! I will continue coming back for many many years! The care and love that is put into their oysters is very appreciated! Just keep on keeping on guys! You all deserve a medal for bringing so much love and happiness to this community ! Thanks again!

Trout dip and oysters were very tasty for someone who doesn't like oysters. Drinks were great. Trevor, our server, is super friendly and knowledgeable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dimly lit, great music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't worry if the bar is full, the booths in the back are such a vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The oysters were great! The bartender was prompt and sweet as well. They had a great selection of drinks to choose from and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere was lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]So much fun, and a rare non-tourist spot in a bustling vacation town![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We visited in the evening after sunset on Cadillac, and we enjoyed a lovely spread of Oysters and apps (plus tasty drinks). I had a dirty martini, my husband had a negroni (both perfectly made), and we loved our food. The mackerel dip is amazing, and the oysters are fresh and fantastic. They are participants of the Maine Oyster Trail, so make sure to log your visit! Very casual and friendly service across the board. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is not a restaurant, but it is a great bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy alcoves and tables are first come first serve.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will absolutely return next time I visit MDI!

All hail the amazing Zana, the mixologist, hostess, server, and busser at this Main Street establishment! Oysters to die for, great cocktails, beers and for those of us so inclined: mezcal.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute vibe, great drinks, late night snacks for those of us who still haven't adjusted to east coast time :) this place was a hit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was awesome and we had an awesome time.

Exceptionally great local Maine oysters that just need a little squeeze of lemon . When they're this good minimal is better. Get two dozen !!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking is very difficult, place was packed today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 5 stars

Came here on 11/16 which I guess was their off season. We came mostly to try their oysters, but unfortunately, during off-season their kitchen is closed and they're really only a bar. We still ended up sitting down and grabbing two drinks while we were there. They had one bartender which was fine since they weren't too busy anyway she was really sweet and kept in conversation with us the whole time we were there. The place is rather small, but I imagine during peak season that this place could get really busy .

Waited outside while they opened and there was already a line of people waiting so I thought this was going to be good and I was not disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is small but cozy with vibrant food and spaces.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is limited but oh boy the food is great so that proves you don't need a big menu to get good food. Today we had the oysters and the Manchego panini, everything was so tasty, fresh and well presented. The host/bartender/waitress is very friendly and upbeat. This is a great choice for a bite and good beer.

I'd give 6 stars if I could!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was fabulous. Felt like I was in a hole in the wall bar in the middle of Bar Harbor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They're open later than many restaurants in town and have a limited menu but the best oysters I've ever had. The vinaigrette sauce they were served with was top tier. They purchase from island-based oyster farms in Bar Harbor and buy fresh every day. I'd go back 100x over!

Don't stop, run. Best oysters in town. Bartender is so knowledgeable, personable and authentic. The Bar Harbor Blondes are devine and we will be back again tonight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Soft jazz playing in the back makes this a perfect spot for anytime of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 recommend!

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. The hostess was very friendly to us (and our dog) and seated us outside. The service here was very quick and friendly. For food - I would say some of the appetizers and entrees are on the smaller side. I had the calamari and while we were told it was for 3 people, it might have been enough for two people at most. My son really liked the meat loaf and said its a great choice for dinner, but the portion wasn't very big. Meanwhile, I had the lobster roll and quite frankly it could have been better. There was very little lobster and too much bread, but they did give us potatoes as well. I enjoyed my dinner at McKays and can say they have good food with great service.

We were excited to eat at a higher end restaurant for our last night of vacation, but the food was just not good. The restaurant is very cute, and i really love the decor of it. They seated us by a window upstairs which was lovely, but it didn't make up for the food. Our waitress was also just OK. The whole experience was meh. We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese to start since she mentioned it was homemade. The pretzel just wasn't that good at all. Pretty flavorless. I was going to order a seafood meal but settled on the chicken piccata. My husband had the burger, my son had the kid's mac and cheese, and my daughter ordered the dry rub chicken wings. I think they best meal out of them all was the kid's mac and cheese. My chicken piccata was just swimming in the sauce that I tried to scrape some off to the side. I don't know if there was something wrong with the chicken or the sauce, but I got SO sick after eating here. The wings were also overly seasoned and overwhelming. My husband thought his burger was forgettable and basic. WIth so many other great restaurant options in Bar Harbor, I think McKays can be skipped for sure.

I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.
